It's Been 3 Years Since This Nitro Engine Ran
Спорт
Today we attempt to start a nitro r/c engine that has sat for 3 years unused; will it fire up? We sure hope so, because we want to nitro bash and drive this 1/8 buggy on the track. Fingers crossed! Do you think the engine will start?

Yes more nitro content! I have been asking for years and hopefully you guys consider doing more if it. I went from brushless to nitro and would never go back. The added realism and tinkering is just so, so much fun and adds a whole new aspect to the hobby!

i have both lol.. Deff cant beat the convenience of a modern brushless rc car/truck. But i still love the sound and smell of a nitro engine lol. i love it in the 1/8 4wd buggies & i love hearing my T-maxx nitro switching into 2nd gear and pulling up a wheelie bc of it lol... its good fun but still i deff use my electric cars more just bc i can basically.. whether it be convivence, repairs, or just needed tuning on the nitro's that you have to dedicate an hour or two to get some good runs of fuel thru the tank

@@Mesch-87 I disagree takes a few minutes to tune the car and haven’t got to really touch it again all day. Yes you can have issues with the flow plug and the igniter then the pull starter if it has one. But puts a smile on my face when you can race ones with electric theirs no real skill involved other then timing the jumps. But I gotta say electrics are great when your in public areas as nitro just annoys people

Absolutely loved this whole series! So glad we got to see more of this awesome kyosho buggy.
I loved that series! Another great video! More nitro content! Great job Brett.
This is a great followup to the original series showing why storing your nitro car is so important. I really enjoyed the original series and the car still looks good.
My dad and i used to play with nitro buggies all the time, i took our 2 buggies out of storage last week, fitted some modern 2.4ghz radios and treated them to some nice savox servos, mines started after a few pulls still running the same plug thats been in it for over 10 years, my dads had been sitting for the same amount of time but with no glow plug or anything to seal the cylinder head, fitted a fresh glow plug and it started after about 3 pulls, man this hobby is great, I really had no faith that either would start, they are some old “Great Vigor” models, mines the “Hunter” and his the “Rex-X”

@@AMain_Hobbies yeah i was worried his engine was knackered because of that but as it turns out it started easier than mine and ran better😂ive since bought an MP9 TKI4 to play with and keep my now “vintage” buggies safe and for light bashing lol
Super cool. Would love to see more nitro! Been thinking about getting one.
Loving the nitro content! Was worried the mp9 had been sold! Great to see she’s still alive and can rip in the air and on the track still! Keep up the awesome content amain!

I just bought it this afternoon at the Amain hobby store here in Chico.
As always, good stuff Brett👍. Would love to see more nitro videos in the future
That's pretty bad ass with the hoons on it! I always take the glow plug out and drop a few drops of fuel in the engine, and a couple down the carb to lube an older engine, spin with the starter, then when you put the glow plug in, and put power to it, the thing's already primed, and usually fires up immediately. GUYS! Awesome job on the track! Cool camera work and great driving..Great video.
Brett! You rock! Started to watch the series a few dags ago , this vid was a fun continuation!
Nitro Stadium Truck is a must, thanks for sharing.
I loved this series where this mp9 starred! I think I have seen it a dozens of times and more importantly made me start 1/8 buggy. Maybe think of a follow-up? I think I have now developed much further from the material of the first series and I have more advanced questions and topics I would like to see. Would love to see the follow-up covering more advanced topics like tire selection (this is what troubles me at the moment), setup and setup tools (another big problem there), useful and necessary upgrades, engine tuning and maintenance, race equipment (what to buy, how to pack, what I need to have at the track etc) and so many more. Thanks a lot Brett and Amain crew.
I remember that episode it was awesome! Man the RTR rips!
Please continue the mp9 series i jus recently watched it again and this legend deserves to continue
I found a used Traxxas Revo with spare tires, manual, old Traxxas magazine, extra body shells, and two easy start wands for $90. It had the old Trinity pipe, and RPM arms. The guy hadn't even used it before, but purchased it used from someone else. I can tell that someone put serious money into it, while someone else abused it by leaving old fuel in the tank, etc. I have put almost a couple hundred into it including fuel by now because it had the wrong radio, reciever, and some parts were brittle and broke, but it is now incredibly reliable, probably more reliable than a new one. Now I might install a pull start. Anyway, for a Revo I have only payed half of the price of a new one. If you are willing to wrench on your car, then please revive the used ones.
Nothing sounds better then Nitro RC cars!!😊
FYI for all viewers....don't plug the exhaust to turn off engine....it floods the crank case with fuel....hence the 23 pulls to start it. Either use a rubber ended tuning driver to stop flywheel or pinch fuel line. This allows for 1,2 pull start vs 23...plus doing the line pinch clears engine for the ride home until u can get after run oil in it

Yes great advice 👌🏻 I always use the plastic clamp on the fuel line to shut off the engine. Plus, when the engine runs out of fuel and the revs rise before it dies then you know you've got a great tune on the engine. If it bogs and shuts off straight away then your to rich and will have less power and a low scream. Ps can't beat the smell of nitro 😎👌🏻

@@finleymakee4850 If you have been leaving fuel in the crankcase your engine is rusted on the inside 100%. If you at least burn all the fuel out that helps a lot. Oil is cheap, no reason not to use it really.

@@gforce_117 Yeah I always burn all the fuel out. I did inspect it last time I took the engine out (2 weeks ago) and it looked perfect.

Should I run it or should I keep it in my office as a work of art. I already have two kyosho buggies, an inferno neo and an mp9 tki4. I'll leave it up to the NWO to decide.
Love the Buggy! Great video.
Glad to see more nitro content. Anyway there can be some 1/8 scale electric content for a build series maybe?

Of course it will, may be a little "gummy" but just put some fuel in the carb and turn it over a few time, maybe do the same to the glow plug or just use a new plug, add fuel and she will fire right up.
Man that looked like it was fun
Hahhahaha oh my goodness what an absolute blast! I have two nitro cars in the loft, I put them up there when my wife told me that she was pregnant 😀 perhaps its time to get them down seeing as how they're now 11, 10 and 8! I wasn't a serious competitor or anything, I just liked driving them, getting them filthy and then stripping them down to clean and service them. The great thing about these was that all this could be done on the dining room table when there wasn't anything worth watching on TV.
YES YOU DID NITRO !
That RTR handles so well

man - that dirt field with all those rocks just eats up those RC's... If I used that dirt field in RC I would go through and pick up EVERY rock in there - and then carefully rake the dirt surface out to get the finer rock out - so it's just mostly dirt - and mostly flat. That way the cars don't get chewed up so badly...
you got some sick handling skills
