ℹ️ About the Episode
As mentioned in the opening of this episode, we were not planning on recording our travels from D.C. back to Michigan. In reality, not everything gets recorded. You might think it's for reasons of privacy or family time, which is true, but more often is because we lack the footage to tell the entire story. Sometimes we find ourselves in the middle of story. When random events occur, the iPhone turns on and things abruptly start. That makes for bad audio for you and an editing challenge for us :) Yet, when we meet people in person, they tell us that they like the raw glimpse into random events, family, daily life, and personal interactions. Well... if that's you, here you go!

My daughter spent three weeks in the NICU in 2005 and we stayed at a RMH the whole time. Not having to worry about meals and having them provided by volunteers like you was amazing. Just having one less thing to worry about during such a stressful time is priceless. Thank you so much for doing this!
Aww you need a sign on your toad that says “please be patient, I am pushing as fast as I can!” 😉

1. What a blessing for some folks 2. Glad everyone is ok after the tree incident 3. I notice there’s 2 things the Bird can’t pass: Literally any other vehicle, and a gas station. 😆
@KeepYourDaydream

Lol. Too funny. The bird gas tank is 260 gal. We get 8 mpg, but can only really use half the tank. Decent range really, but we've determined it's exactly twice as expensive as the F250. And you're right, I don't recall passing anyone!

@@KeepYourDaydream you could look into putting a turbo or two on the bird, if they will fit in the engine compartment. Should improve the speed, at least.
My son had the same thing happen to him! It was a bigger tree and crushed the engine, shattered all the windows and decimated the dashboard. He just had small cuts and bruises.. I am so glad Caleb was not hurt. That is a tough Mom moment.
So THANKFUL Caleb is ok. My daughter and I had an AMAZING opportunity to volunteer at our local Ronald McDonald house in Cincinnati OH 2 weeks ago. Truly made our hearts smile🥰
The best part of Sundays is here, thanks for the quality entertainment Leach family!
I'm wishing episodes like this on a monthly basis. I hope you guys can consider the possibility of doing it at least from time to time. Really. What a joy to watch.
I get my US fix when I watch your videos. Currently stationed in Bahrain with the Navy. I’ll be here a few more years. One of my greatest joys is traveling the US especially Michigan. Thank you for doing what you do!
So happy to hear Caleb, and yiur friend's son weren't hurt in the tree accident. Love the Ronald McDonld House, and how they really are there for the families. Thank you for making an awesome meal for the 30 people staying at the house.
My step son was born with transposition of the major arteries in his heart. He had surgery at 11 days old. (Even though the surgery was successful and he's relatively healthy today, they found out years later he actually flatlined during it twice). He spent most of his first few months of life in the hospital and the family spent a lot of time at the Ronald McDonald House near that hospital. Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Ok…., soooo….. Michigan is a must. Through all the seasons you all have shown us some great Michigan spots.
I recently took delivery of Tricia’s cookbook and a variety pack of her spice blends. I can’t say enough good things about both. The cookbook is absolutely beautiful and the recipes are incredible. I know I will use it for years to come. The spice blends are awesome-truly some of the best I have ever used! Sweet Heat, Go to Garlic Salt, Lemon Herb and Pecan Coffee are all my faves. They are creatively blended and made with the best of ingredients. Well done, Tricia and Co.! If you haven’t ordered yet, DO IT! You won’t be disappointed!
One of my grandkids was born 3 months premature. She spent a month or two in the hospital, and my daughter and son-in-law spent weeks in a Ronald McDonald House. I will be forever grateful to them for giving my family that which I could not at the time. There is a good chance that I will be providing something for RMH in my will. There won't be much, but I want to help out as much as I can.
I like these “Day-In-the-Life” episodes. Those trees DO jump out at you!

Just about the only comment here that doesn't make me want to gag. Charlie's the only one not selling something.
"Then we have these Massive Storm Drains" --- Don't talk, just drive. ROFL. Reminds me of my Dad on Trips. And seeing your Cook Book roll of the Line has to really feel good.
I saw the tree damage in the intro and thought OH NO, what happened. Then when we got to that part, I got a little emotional. If those were my boys I would have been a mess. So quick life can change. I'm so glad they're ok and taking it in stride. Hug them a little stronger moms. Now the food bowls got me needing to go find something delicious to eat. Mark, you're so spoiled with such a great cook for a wife. I love the snack idea for RMH. Easy peasy and so greatly appreciated I'm sure!.
So glad the boys were okay. Carson is so very handsome. So good to see him and Victoria in the episode.
I wanted to say thank you KYD for all you do for the RMH. Anyone other than me wave back at Trisha when she went passed Marc in the background while he knelt to explain the jack? Caleb, I'm so glad you & your friend didn't get hurt. It was so nice to see everyone together. Enjoyed your video, & am looking forward to next Sunday. CHARLIE got his duck laid down like he was playing dead. He wasn't moving. Wasn't the least bit thrilled. I love Charlie! Have a nice week.
While "running the gauntlet" of concrete barriers, big storm drains and falling trees; I'd be peeling my fingers out of the indentations I made in the steering wheel :) Congratulations on the cookbook. Enjoyed the "never a dull moment" video. Thank You

I just love your son! He cracks me up! Can I borrow Caleb to take on a trip……so he can entertain me forever! Such a sense of humor! Keep it up young man you make a great grandma’s day!
I have no idea what you said about the Airstream because I was laughing so hard at Caleb's antics behind you. He is the cutest member of your team.

I used to donate to them and in doing so, I made up a complete spread sheet on what stores or Costco, Amazon, Walmart, Sam's Club had. With all the pricing etc. Seeing a friend of mine from high school with two kids having cancer really made me think. They gave up their jobs, sold just about everything. Your heart just sinks. I can't imagine what the families go through.
As a parent of an only son, the clip of Trish holding Caleb's face in her hands instantly brought me to tears. Thankfully, all were unharmed but such an incident certainly puts things in perspective! I love each and every one of your videos. I can't wait to see where your new adventures will take you!
Caleb is soooo funny! You guys make me laugh and further enjoy my Sunday nights! PS. Loving the cooking book!
My brother and sister-in-law recently had a stay at the RMH in London Ontario. Can’t say enough good things and much respect for helping out.
Glad everybody is safe 🥰😇🙏
You guys are so awesome. Major kudos for helping the Police Officer with the tree

Gave it a 👍🏼just for the part about cooking at RMH. Such a fabulous organization and so happy to see y’all helping out there. Warms my heart!
I'm so glad no one was hurt in the tree escapade! Helping others at RMH was a great way to celebrate. So great to see Tori's cameo. We've missed her!
So, glad you added the zoom-in on Carson's face when he got BUSTED for driving Dad's truck!! HAHA! "It was at that moment..."
Totally digging the soundtracks on this weeks episode! Glad everyone is ok from the tree!
Yes, omg! the tree falling just randomly is like driving past a semi truck with huge cylinders or tree trunks chained as I'm praying to get by it fast!!!🥴😳
Accidents with no injuries make good stories. Happy they're safe.
I do not believe any other YooperTubers by way of Arizona (see what I did there) can crammaslamm more amazing content into a single video. Good form. Congrats on the cookbook. Safe travels amigos
As an amateur bookbinder, I was impressed by your quality choices! I already made a slip case for mine to protect it at home and on the road.
So glad Caleb is okay. Exact same thing happened to me in a Ford Explorer. Traveling down the road, lots of wind and a tree fell on SUV, broke windshield, ripped off both side view mirrors, dented hood and roof. No personal injury but it was so, so scary. Happened about 25 years ago and still spooks me today,
Thank you so much for your commitment to the RV family and I just wanted to let you know I received the cookbook for my wife’s birthday we thought it would have been lost but it showed up she has a professional chef and restaurant tour has taken to the book like you wouldn’t believe thanks again! Thomyt
So glad the boys are safe. Mark I'm waiting for the episode when the bird gets some power add-ons. It's painful to watch how slow you're going. I can't imagine actually driving... Blessings to you and yours.
As a parent who has stayed at Ronald McDonald houses a few times thank you. Sometimes you don’t have much left holding you together, and things like a comfortable place to stay and not having to think about what to do for food makes all the difference.
Marc- you and Carson should sit down and make checklists for the both the Bird and the Airstream. We use them all the time in Aviation to prevent mistakes. They’re standard protocol and purpose built for each Aircraft. You guys could do the same thing for your rigs. Preflight Check, Engine Start Procedures, Pre Taxi, Taxi, Before Takeoff/Runup, Take Off, etc are all Checklists that we run in the cockpit for every flight. You guys could just adapt an Aviation Checklist for use in the RV’s. Use of Checklists prevent mistakes and that in turn prevents accidents. They keep things easy and organized. Any time your routine gets interrupted, that’s when the accident chain tends to begin. Checklists prevent that! I bet Carson could really help in developing a Checklist for each rig! Safe travels!
Caleb's antics in the backseat are gold.
Fun as usual! So glad Caleb and his friend are ok. Whew! What does Trish use to marinade her chicken?
It's the “But Officer the Tree Came Out and Bit Me” episode. I like the upgrades you put on the Airstream. The Table and Fridge look so amazing. The Cook Books look amazing also, it's almost like Trish has given birth to something that will be treasured and will be a focal point which will lead to many happy delicious times at the table where memories will be made. Giving back to McDonald’s House is right up your alley, looks like the recipients will have full bellies and be smiling from ear to ear, well done. Until next week, looking forward to Sunday. 😊👍👍👍
Ronald McDonald House was an awesome blessing for our family when our son who is now in Heaven was going through radiation treatments in Kansas City. I will always hold RMH close in my heart as a beautiful charity to help serve and donate to!
My grandparents had an Airstream, wow!!! Brings back so many memories! She's a beauty! Congrats! ❤💙❤
My mom and Dad bought their RV’s from Woodland 50 years ago and I lived in Grand Haven for a number of years. Thanks for bring back all the memories!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that you made a meal at the Ronald McDonald House!!! They are VERY appreciative of all that volunteers do for them! My brother worked for Coke for 40 years; he was responsible for support of RMHC until her retired. When he traveled, he always got the fixings for ice cream floats to treat the RMH families after dinner! God bless you for thinking of others!!
Truly the best cookbook ever. and.. God has a plan for those boys life. My heart jumped when I saw that damage. Deana
Oh my word. I can imagine how crazy scary that was for your son…AND MOM & DAD! Yikes. I JUST received your cookbook yesterday and I’m waiting for some perfect alone time to page through and enjoy! Thank you so much for donating a meal to the Ronald McDonald House! Our daughter has had 10 surgeries in 10 years and RMH has been a huge comfort for us!
That tree incident is the craziest and most random thing. Glad everyone is okay 🙏🏼
Thankful boys are ok...and how they still helped move the tree off the road 🤗. thank you for sharing episodes like this. many blessing 🌸 love the new refrigerator on platinum Ginger!
I am so glad to see that everyone was ok. Caleb will have a wonderful story to tell his grandkids of the time he took on a giant man eating tree and toppled it to the ground in victory.
I can't wait to hear how you like your new refrigerator! So glad that everyone was okay. Thanks again for a great video!!

@@KeepYourDaydream --thanks for the update-- we really appreciate that! We're going to keep watching and see if anything changes. We've already looked at your link below and found a dealer in our area. The fridge we have right takes almost the same space, which is great. We're in a 2018 Minnie Winnie, so it's not old but we've been battling with our fridge (and the fluctuation in temperature) on our trips all summer which is very frustrating. We've been watching you for years and feel like we can trust you as we have so many of the items that you've recommended and we haven't been disappointed. We value your opinion! Thanks for everything
The look in Tori's eyes at 28:22 is soooo Caleb.
Wow, someone was looking out for Caleb that day!! Glad to see the airstream again. I still say that you need a Super C!! We notice that you were in G.H. for the 4th. We live just down the road in Holland. You should explore the Orchards in Fennville. I think Fenn Valley Winery is a Harvest Host. Take care!!
Thank you for cooking for the Ronald McDonald House!! I don’t know what we would’ve done without them when our daughter was in Children’s Hospital. They will forever hold a piece of our hearts. Sometimes eating with other families was all you had in a day ❤️
So happy the boys weren't injured when the tree fell on them! The Lord definitely wrapped the boys in his arms!! You guys are all such a blessing to the Ronald McDonald houses, bless you all for doing that yet again. I love my cookbook Trish! It has been beautifully done, the photo's, oh my! Just love it and now can't wait use it since I'm finally mobile once again! Hugs, Brenda

So gald the boys are okay! Great to see Victoria. Love the bike lights. Congrats on the book being printed!
I have to tell you, your son is absolutely so so funny when he’s sitting in the back seat doing hand gestures going along with the stories your telling. Hilarious. I have to show your video to at least 10 people. Now he has all of us doing the same thing.
You need a little sign on the back of the Bird; "The hamsters are running as fast as they can".
Hi KYD! My husband and I watch all your videos, we watched this video this morning, then I put on my KYD shirt and went out on our friends boat. While boating around Spring Lake, we are pretty sure we saw your airstream parked at your friends house on SL! We were so excited! Hope you enjoy your time around our hometown and are having safe adventures from there! KYD!

Your son is so precious, what a great kid Caleb is!
Happy Sunday Fam!
So glad no one was hurt in the tree fall! You guys sure have a lot going on for a time when nothing is supposed to be going on. LOL great video. Lynn and Danny
Hi KYD, thankyou so much for catching us up to your Cooper and Airstream reunion. So very happy the boys were unscathed. It looked like the tree you showed was rotted out at the base. I saw a Corvette that had a tree encounter of the worst kind and yes, it crumbled, but the driver was ok. Another was that a friend of mine went to pick his daughter up from game night (she was in band with my son), and on his return trip home (awful rainy night) a massive oak tree had fallen across the road and he plowed into/over it with his new Super Duty. They, and his truck were ok, but it is very dark at night here in the Piney woods, and it wasn't there 15 minutes earlier. Nuts.
I so love your "Random Week" video. I also LOVE your cookbook. The recipes are awesome!!!!!
