Is there a backlit setting on the 914?

Hi Rick - To illuminate the keypad, you must push the lock button at the top of the keypad while the deadbolt is in the locked position. All the buttons on the keypad will then light up. Thanks ~ Kwikset Social

Just installed this on my home. Is there really no way to push up the black cover on the regular model? Was hoping to use this for AirBNB but looks like a pain to unscrew it every time. :(

We are doing that for our AirBNB, too. We removed one screw permanently, and only have to unscrew one each time. It's not too terrible.

I agree that this is a pain. OTOH, it is a deterrent to mischievous reprogramming.

I know this is an old comment, but I would try drilling a small hole in the back cover so you can insert a tool like an awl or even just paperclip to hit the button. Not sure of it would work, just a thought.

How do I make it reverse. It’s trying to lock the dead bolt into the unlock position

Hi Katy - Here to help! To ensure the latch is locking and unlocking in the correct direction, first, please make sure the lock was installed with the latch in the locked position. Mine didn't either. Customer support had me use a different set of 4 new batteries and it worked fine. Huh.

I’m trying to delete a user code and it won’t delete ... I’ve done it several times today and it won’t delete it ... I’ve been successful in the past with it .. hummm ( I use a master code with it also) any help would be appreciated . Ty

damn lie..thats if you rarely used the automated way to open and close your door! try 1-2 months otherwise.

I flipped the #2 dip switch to on, the door auto locks, BUT even after it is locked, it repeats this every 30 seconds over and over.

Hi Crystal - Here to help! It sounds like your lock may have jammed. Here are the steps on how to fix this: 1. Use name-brand alkaline batteries, avoiding lithium and rechargeable batteries. 2. Check that your door is properly aligned. Ensure the door frame jamb hole is 1 inch deep and clear of debris for the latch to extend fully into the jamb hole and prevent jamming. 3.
