Kurt is a refreshing face of guitar rock that weve been waiting for for a long time. I absolutely love his vision, skill, and inspiration for all our fellow guitarists and lovers of guitar music. Thank you!
no rules in music like this, perfect perfomance, keep phaser, keep everything''
what a great performance
This just sounds really nice.
love these songs.
One of the best songs of our generation.
I am so glad he went solo, as oppose to staying part of The War on Drugs.
such a great performance
Great performance. Awesome.

Kurt Vile rules so goddamn much. Keep making music please.
awesome, as usual!
Excellent

excelente!
Finally seeing Kurt Vile in October really hope he does Wakin on a Pretty Daze live, probably my favourite track from him.
And the drummer is blowing my mind!
Really like this track
You're all so exptional! Kurt you are an extraordinary exption…
Aaaaaargh he's really the best!
kurt and adam should be one band, with kurt being like the jerry and adam being the bob of an legendary indie rock band
I like the Fender guitar sounds.

Fender for cleans, Gibson for grit! Although my telecaster also sounds great with a little drive. But that's my preference :)
yeah yeah yeah yeah (mil veces) yeah yeah...
Stephen Malkmus and Kurt Vile should form a band called "Zero F*cks Given" It would be great!
Amazing drummer!
Woooooow !!!!!!!!
So in love with Kurt Vile, got the new album belatedly from work and devoured it like a wild beast. PS. It was delicious
so 70s sound!!! cool!!
Teles and strats with that whah whah sound effect......love it.
say yeah one more time.....
Wakin' On a Pretty Daze" is a great album! Looking forward to seeing him here in San Francisco on October 16, 2015.
best yeah's on earth

Hell yeah baby! Music for musics sake
Yeeeeahhh. Mannn.
The definition of a genius.
i fucking love this!
In second verse of Wakin on a Pretty Day....one of my favorite lines in music.... "To be frank, I'm fried, but I, don't mind yeah yeah yeah...."
yeah
Heavy Lou Reed vibe! Didn't dig it at first but its actually pretty good!
That telecaster is incredible.

Yes it is. I believe it's a Rick Kelly custom made from old wood taken from buildings in NYC that were built in the 1800s. Steve Gunn playing it just makes it even better.

Josiah George correct - it's a "pine tele" from jim jarmusch's loft.
Ok I want that Telecaster Now
@gjh400

You can buy those, they're made by Rick Kelly - he's a luthier that has a shop in the Bowery in N.Y.C. He makes all of his guitars from wood sourced from old lofts typically once inhabited by artists -- that is one of his "pine tele's" probably built from jim jarmusch's loft.

gjh400 I think you just sold a bunch of guitars here, bro! Please, take your commission from the money I am throwing on the screen.

Davi Trombela haha, I wish --- I'm just a hardcore guitar nerd, I can't afford that dude's stuff, and I think it's overpriced -- the fact it came from some dickheads' loft should make the guitar cheaper, I mean pine? from some pampered artists' loft, pretty silly, I bet they play nice though. So do my guitars -- which are just mutts -- by the way -- saw a kelly pine tele on ebay for $4,300 bucks... soooo stupid, but they are nice -- make/modify your own.

gjh400 Yeah, that's way too much for me too. I do value the historical stuff, but nah. I am from Brazil, we have a bunch of good luthiers as well, and lots of beautiful, crazy tone woods people don't even know about, for a lot less money. Still, it's a very nice work!
22:28 Drummer: "Why is the guitar so fucking quiet?"
That Telecaster looks like its been thrown into the fire, sacrificed to the "Rock Gods" reborn and kindly placed into the hands of this wonderful group. Looks like and sounds like Kurt was pretty "stoned" in the midst of rambling, he had to ask, "what was the question"? Killer rock....Kurt has nothing on David Crosby, sometimes Dave had to be reminded where CSN was playing and the song set...What a nice man>>>

high as a vile
Fuck I love this 🤩 100% straight but simpin' for Kurt errday
I bought a Phaser because of this and use it 99% of the time

The DJ has a deep voice. I wonder if he likes Pirate movies? I am trying to cut back.

DJ full performance!
Blows my mind. Image his music if he DID!?
We need to get a steady shot of kurts guitar :D
my guess is one with the paint and finish stripped off at home. you can use chemicals to strip the paint, or a blowtorch/heatgun which bubbles it up pretty nicely. but it can also burn the hell out of the wood, and it looks a lot like that. ask me how I know. either way, it's beautiful. along with everything in this video. especially those gorgeous locks
Fucking aye!
love that phaser.. he knows his shit
Steve Gunn ❤️
reminds me of Pavemnent every time..

@xalstarx

I hear many different influences in his music. I think there is some Neil Young, and that ain't a bad thing!
28:55 sonic bliss
some kind of neil young and crazy horse? i think so!
steve gunn shoots me into bliss, kurt vile is the opposite of vile
SOME KIND OF KILLER
This is great, but I wish the interviewer would have asked fewer questions so they could have done another tune or two.
That's a legit fuckin' line-up!
But in an interview he's stated that he has smoked weed in the past and does smoke occasionally while on tour.
wonder what kind of telecaster that guitar is, looks fucking awesome
holy heck hahhahahahha
15:12. Nice save, Kurt.
Is it just me or are they just awesome and the DJ can't ask real interesting questions, or is Kurt in a different world....Because I think its both, they're awesome and kurts in a different world meanwhile the DJ just comes off awkward.. Anywho this awesome chill great vibe music....
russell brand on kit
Where do you see a telecaster in this video? There's a stratocaster and a jaguar.
DJ full performance.
love the sound of the band, but dudes pretty high. which... is part of the appeal of the band... yeah.

***** Thank you, I like your playlists a lot.
reminds me of the best parts of bob seger and the silver bullet band. like a psychedelic bob seger.
dang...they're really good....i love the stoner moment....what was the question???
why does Kurt never play Never Run Away? damn it
@RobertHo987

never say never
What kind of Martin is Kurt playing?
Ellie Rowsell/Wolf Alice sent me here.
0:35 - telecaster
His vocals are part of what he's built his whole style around. His music would lose part of its identity if he changed that.
just awesome - the sound is sublime and better than the master imo
you can tell through that phaser?
Dammit Steve! Get back here and play lead!
love vile. not sure I could answer questions that this guy is asking though. my music is too personal a creation to me, to have some random stranger chit chat bullshit non personal questions. delve deeper in to Kurt's personal life as I am a new fan,. I'd probly give answers nothing to do with his question and borderline crazy/agressive
Anyone else hear that Mac DeKweller? Or know what I mean?

I honestly hadn't made the Ben Kweller connection, but, yeah, I hear it. (Maybe I'd just forgotten about him *blush*) Mac DeMarco is pretty clear.
get Steve Gunn in there!
