The diamond texture g-10 is the best of both worlds. Lightweight. Same feel. and DLC blade. crazy value. I love it.
I love Kunwu's orange peel texture. One of the best in the market.

glad to hear because this video just made me buy this knife with the orange peel texture... Damn you Metal Complex, I mean that in the nicest way possible...
You're getting a crossbar lock, and you're getting a crossbar lock, and you're all getting crossbar locks!!1
I appreciate the detail you go into in your discussions, such as the experience of the opening mechanisms of these knives and others, and the relevance (to consumer AND to OEM) of forwarding a backup omega spring along with each knife.
Thanks for this great review! I have the Pulsar XL diamond titanium and love it, it's a beast. Now I'm on the hunt for a regular size CF Pulsar with DLC.
I received my Pulsar XL a couple of weeks ago. What a beast. I love my Django. Waiting for my Padre.
Got mine last week. It is a big knife. Love the smoothness. I smoothed the diamonds with 600 grit sandpaper under the pocket clip.
thanks for the video! only omega springs I've ever had break are on my 940. the replacements ended up snapping too! just unlucky, but its so frustrating when it happens 😂
I'm surprised you didn't mention how little space there is under the pocket clip. I completely stopped carrying the knife due to the pants that I wear. Got a milled pocket clip, and now we're good to go. Thanks for the video, MC.

@mariogarcia183 which clip did you get?
Just got the XL carbon fiber and man is it a spicy meatball. It's my first CF knife from Kunwu, and it's super nice.
Man. I appreciate your commentary. I'm thinking about choosing between Pulsar XL and Padre. Thoughts? Explanations?
Kunwu continues killing it! I completely agree: incredible knife! Only way to improve is relocating and shrinking the knife model name, or removing it altogether (best).
Very nice. I like that shiny DLC. Thanks MC
I love my Pulsar and my Django, but I am a sucker for big knives so I might need to get this in my collection if/when I ever have disposable income again.
My only Kunwu is my Padre and I love it, I wanted to get the Pulsar as well, then I saw the XL Pulsar was coming but waiting for it to be available is gonna drive me crazy, more retailers here in America need to carry Kunwu, I'm one of those guys that when I buy a knife I pay for two day shipping because I don't have the patience to wait, I get too excited when I finally order a knife I've been wanting. I know I could order this directly from Kunwu in China but the normal weight for something coming from China would drive me crazy and now we have to wait for Chinese New Year to be over for them to start shipping again, I'd be bouncing off the walls
Kunwu knives usually cost more than I'm willing to stomach, but if I ever climb the ladder a bit higher I'm definitely getting some. Their quality to price ratio is insane.
You mention 10 weight nano oil in this video. The link you provide in the video descriptions is for 15 weight nano oil. What are your thoughts on the distinction between the two? What are they each better used for than the other? I am grateful for any insight you care to provide.
Kunwu did offer some gmascus show side scales for the Padre, and I don't get who would want them, but they sold. I've seen pics of Padres with them on.
Thanks for the review of this tank; think I'll stick with my regular size but it's nice to know that Kunwu is trying to fill the high demand for the xl knife community. Yeah for myself, checking lock stability has always mainly been for frame, liner, and button locking knives. And although I am partial to a good liner/bolster lock, these 3 locking systems have shown over time to have the highest probability of slipping issues due to the nature of their lock face geometry and IMO has the largest gap of inconsistency between companies doing them right for every model they release. Cross bar and any omega spring reliant locks seem to have the least issue (other than lock backs) with slip due to the style of lock as a whole and it's larger range of material making contact with the lock bar mechanism when opened. Even if both springs were to break technically you can still get the knife to lock open although obviously not with the same reliability strength in these instances, but will work in a pinch if it were to happen. Thanks for the look.

… if there is no spring tension there is nothing holding the bar forward. A crossbar lock can fail which sticks the blade open as well as failing so the blade just flops around. All depends on where the spring breaks and how the action gets bound up. And you also are depending on the “shelf” for the lockbar being sufficiently deep for good lockup. I’ve handled sanrenmu and ganzos with such a shallow shelf that they fail a spine whack.

@@just9911 I get what you're saying, but my original point still stands; I said "technically you can still get the knife to lock open although obviously not with the same reliability strength in these instances, but will work in a pinch if it were to happen" which is still accurate. Do I want both springs to break and have to rely on the cross bar to stay wedged behind the tang? No, ofcourse that's never ideal, however, it will still be usable in some light applications without the springs while a failing liner or frame lock won't lock out at all. I currently own 5 omega spring reliant knives; 3 Benchmades, 1 Hogue, and 1 Kizer. And when both omegas are completely removed from all 5 of these models, the tolerances are still tight enough for the cross bar to not slip under the blade tang (again in minimal applications in these instances). And it sounds like the spine wack failure you're having on your knives is a Ganzo issue; i.e. cross bar knives that cost

@@wes.killed.it.5511 not my knives, knives or other people who asked me to fix/sharpen/maintain them. I’ve also seen a couple of benchmades with questionable lockup (an adamas and an ares specifically). You can wedge a failed liner or frame lock open. I’ve done it myself. And if the lockbar is sprung correctly, wedging itself open should be more likely than failing and closing. All locks have potential failure points and no system is perfect. It’s all about realizing the limitations of folding knives and being aware of what you are doing. The only mechanism that really concerns me are button plunge locks. Button operated liner locks are the safer route to go in my opinion.
I own both the Xl and regular size Pulsar. Love them both but prefer the Xl. I have nicked my palm while closing the smaller one. Not an issue with the larger Xl.

Also get the new pocket clips. Completely upscales the feel of the knife. They make the knife ride a little higher in the pocket. But it’s a worth while trade off.
Own Pulsar XL… highly recommend
What would make it easier to disassemble is if they put a screw on each side of the pivot so you can do 1 side at a time instead of taking the whole knife apart
Ordered XL
I just got one!!!
they are just soooo thick other then that i love it. but wish they would be thiner
Love me some Kunwu!
