Спорт

We have quite a funny Kungfu vs Muay Thai match for you. On one side is a kungfu master (self-proclaimed) who decides to show his skills by taking on Buakaw Banchamek, a Muay Thai legend from Thailand. However, starting first round, we already have so many funny issues run afoul. This is one of those matches that makes you go, "What are we watching?" Let's analyze some of the footage, and make sure to watch til the end because I have some translations and analysis of footage from the live audience during the match! @@hattorihaso2579 yeah. But you should keep something in mind, Muay Thai people would clearly have the advantage if they fought on Muay Thai rules as they would be able to use techniques that their opponents probably haven't trained for, but in Kickboxing rules, both the Muay Thai practitioner and their Kickboxer opponent will be able to properly use those techniques that are permited. In order to allow Muay Thai-specific techniques against a kickboxer, i would say that they shoukd be in a MMA fight to even things out (spamming the leg kicks and going for the clinch is way more dangerous for the Muay Thai person) but the match will probably end up with grappling rather than striking

The entire event organizer is also the company that signs this chinese dude as an actor under their management. Maybe they already discussed with him in private, to purposely kick Buakaw over and over again in his groin? And if it still fails to make Buakaw give up the fight due to unbearable pain...to maybe get a draw out of the match the very moment Buakaw gives a knee. So he might have already rehearsed the entire drama he will be showing, after getting knee from Buakaw. Even the judges initially wanted to give them a draw. But the spectators are all against Wang, so the match becomes nullified, instead of rightfully giving a TKO victory to Buakaw. I mean, take a look at all the chinese language news describing this event. Most of them are saying how Buakaw nearly lost the fight at the beginning, and tried to give a knee just to prevent being KO by Wang...which then made Wang unhappy. At least, that's the narrative many of their chinese media are reporting.

I think it's more about... the years and how nasty you train in all the years .. Kung fu focus much on forms, repetitions... And elegance... With each movement, much focus and time is spent on having the perfect form... While Buakaw definitely don't care how elegant or how good his looks is to others.. he mainly train to fight... And train like crazy.. so.. wish the best for both of the fighters, and thanks for the video, Bro... definitely worth much more than coming live to the actual fight 😅😅😅😅 🙏🙏🙏🙏

What saddens me is that the kung fu master (who in my opinion is truly a practitioner of Chinese styles), but even just placing such kicks against a monster like Buakaw would have been a source of pride for anyone. Instead of giving his best and perhaps being defeated with honor, this ''master'' decided to leave the ring with dishonor. really very sad that the ego takes over people who have trained under styles that boast a spiritual dimension and who complain about rules while practicing a style that constantly emphasizes that there are no rules. Disgraceful.

In Chinese politics Chinese are gonna side with their own no matter how insanely wrong they can be. Buakaw does not deserve this level of disrespect.the people may speak but the " keeping up with appearances" rhetoric will remain. Buakaw truly a speciment of showmanship. Buakaw had him shaking at his heels even before the first round was over.

What a sad sight to see. It reminds me of a story Ramsey Dewey told in a video about two of his matches in China. One guy he kept knocking out, but his corner kept resuscitating him to the point Ramsey gave up and gave the opponent to win. And another time he kept tapping out another guy, the guy wanted to quit but his corner forced him to keep going, until the fight was ruled a draw (I think, I don’t remember).

I found the kung fu guy's unorthodox techniques actually entertaining - minus the kicking of Buakaw in the gnads. I'm thinking kung fu guy was either trying to throw a spinning back kick to try and sweep or destroy Buakaw's knee...or purposely trying to fight dirty and kick Buakaw in the gnads to play psychological games so Buakaw won't engage. Buakaw is one of the modern GOATS of muay Thai. He has seen worse. At his level he will easily pick up on patterns of opponents and unless kung fu guy knows how to switch up his patterns, Buakaw is going to have an answer and punish you. He's Buakaw for god's sake! Kung fu guy is stalling. It's so obvious. It's that annoying "saving face" excuse of quitting without looking like a quitter. Finding some "sun was in my eye" excuse. But in this case, I can't blame him considering he's got a very pissed off Buakaw staring him down. I would have just taken a dive though.

As an ex-pro Muay Thai fighter, the rules were ALWAYS agreed on pre-match, there was never a debate. Only once did I see a discrepancy when an opponent of one of my fighters threw an elbow which was not stipulated in pre-fight agreements. My guy waved it off, and offered to use elbows the rest of the fight... ref rightfully said no as that is not in the stipulated pre-fight contract. So there is no way this Chinese fighter and Buakaw's team did not know of the exact rules. My opinion, is that the Chinese guy tried to steamroll Buakaw, and when it didn't work, and ignoring his culpability in the low blows, he got scared when Buakaw - hard as nails - went alright, and fought back. Reminds me of a modern meme/skit; 'It was at this moment went he knew he had f**k up...' Then he did everything he could to get out of the fight and at the same time gaslight Buakaw and EVERYONE else.... the ref saw through it, the judges saw through it, Buakaw and his team saw through it, and the crowd definitely saw through it...

My guess is that the kung fu guy's strategy was to try to KO Buakaw in the first round with his huge spinning kicks, because he probably wouldn't have had a lot left in the tank after the first round. When that didn't work out and he was put on the backfoot by a now pissed Buakaw, he started grasping at straws.

Rules were not changed mid fight according to the announcement, it said "there was some misunderstanding with regarding to kneeing; one knee is okay and is agreed upon so let's cheer for the fighters to get back into fighting spirit okay?". I'm not sure why he even complained about any knees though, as knees are allowed both in Kungfu/Wushu and Sanda; but this gets into the argument of rules favor certain techniques vs others, if no rules, then you just keep kicking people in the nuts, which in a real fight, I would totally do that to win to save my life.

That display was a very painful one to watch. Yanlong might have some neat unusual moves but I just cant stand his general behaviour and attitude. From him attacking frequently with lack of control leading to repeated low blows and landing himself on his butt to him making a complete scene about a knee that ended in the fight getting called off. No respect shown for the absolute living legend he has the honour to compete against nor for the crowd who probably paid a lot of money to see a good and entertaining fight. Calling himself a kungfu master is just the cherry on top - he has no qualities that would make him a master of any kind. With his deeds he just throws a bad light on every honest kungfu practitioner. At least Buakaw tried to give the audience a little entertainment in the end, that shows just the difference in class between those two fighters.
