I like that it's made using footage an old kung fu movie. Steve Martin does that with footage from old gangster flicks in Dead Men Dont Wear Plaid, you would love it!

My girlfriend is Asian and she loves old Kung Fu films. I have this on DVD and made her watch it with me. She laughed her ass off!

During a combat tour, we had a pretty rough couple of weeks in county (Iraq) and we decided to play this movie for our soldiers as a morale booster. We felt that they just needed to laugh at something silly to mentally "escape" from their situation. Talk about what the doctor ordered!!! They laughed hard as hell and were able to get a break from life for a little bit. Ironically, our task force shrink was in the group and thanked us for what we did for our soldiers as well as for them. This movie is something that they (as well as I) will cherish as a bright spot for the rest of our lives!

Can’t blame ya for having trouble processing what you just watched. It truly is a... unique experience.

I saw this in theaters, and like at least 1/3 of the audience had walked out before the halfway point- it broke my heart, it shouldn't be hard for people to just enjoy something silly that was crafted with as much love as this clearly was. thankfully, it found its audience with time.

I named one of my WoW characters Shirtripper. Most people thought it was a Hulk reference, but I got many people whispering me about Kung Pow. I'm confident I had the first 'Shirtripper' in WoW, but it's been many years, and there's a lot more now.

Oh. My. God. This is like my all time favorite movie. My dad and I picked it up in a $5 dvd box at Walmart when I was a little kid and we expected it to be a dumb king fu movie. Holy shit we weren’t ready. I can genuinely quote this entire thing 😂😂

Sometimes people ARE too stupid to understand things so they don't like them (especially brainwashed young Millenials and Zoomers), but everyone has their own opinions and preferences.

if nobody has mentioned it, They made this film by buying the rights to a real kung fu movie that never got finished and added a few new characters when green screen was new and finished the move in a parody of itself.

This movie was a gem, had me laughing from start to finish.

That "This is CNN" bit is from the 90s, when James Earl Jones did the intro for CNN.

If you get a chance, listen to the commentaries in the movie. Steve Oderkerk explains everything he did in the movie and it's literally one of the best commentary I've ever listened to. To make the movie he has to make 2 different soundtrack where he would make up words so he could dub himself like the rest of the movie. As crazy as this movie is the idea was genius !

He directed ace ventura when nature calls and he made the screen play for the nutty professor. No wonder it was pretty funny. Me and my sister always like making fun of the noises they actors made 😂

I will never forget renting this with a friend back when it was released. We had no idea what to expect. I think we just wanted to rent a comedy and chose it. I was laughing so unbelievably hard in the beginning once that busted up baby started crawling and then rolled down that hill. I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t breathe, and I had to signal for my friend to stop the movie for a few minutes. All these scenes have me crying as I watch this reaction on my iPad. I haven’t seen this in years.

Kung Pow may not have the same coherence as a traditional film, but it's easily the funniest comedy movie ever. There's a lot of funny movies out there, but I've never laughed as hard or enjoyed a comedy as much as I did for Kung Pow. Not to mention this is also the most quotable movie. Lol The entire script is forever burned into my memory.

The milk commercial clip of the grandpa/dad's arms blowing off and the children screaming made me fall out of my chair with laughter. 1000/10 would watch again.

I was 9 when I saw it in the theaters. Saw it with my Brother, my Uncle (who's 2 years older than me.) and my Grandma. This movie sculpted me, and we always reference this movie every day. Really makes me happy to see you laughing your ass off with it xD

I actually saw this movie in the theater with a friend, and we cracked up constantly -- "that's a lot of nuts" is probably the best nonsense joke for me, although "should've gone with plan a" is a close second. On the DVD they actually have the original audio track so you can see how they're basically saying fake sentences to make the dub hilariously bad

So I am always impressed with the amount of effort one guy put into making a movie. Recut these old movies into a new one. Wrote a whole new script, redubbed all the voices almost entirely by himself, AND cast himself as the lead!

Meet the progenitor for every parody and abridged series on KZread. This movie should be in some kind of textbook. Also, check out the thumb movies that he made before. His comedy is just something else, and I completely love everything about it.

Woody Allen (for his directorial debut) took a Japanese spy movie and added his own dialog to it. The movie was "What's Up Tiger Lily", a phrase Warren Beatty used to pick-up women.

I wish more people would react to this movie. It is so ridiculous, but will leave me in tears every time.

This is by far one of the greatest spoofs in history! Shame they never made the 2nd one.

Oh man, so glad this movie is getting some attention! So few reactions to it! This movie is great. I did manage to see "Tiger and Crane Fists", which is the film Steve Oedekerk(the director/Chosen One/every voice over)greenscreened stuff into. I was surprised at how little was changed for the actual scenes...even the huge blood jets when Betty is killed is in it!) If you check it out in passing, it's on KZread now. Best part is, every single comment is a "Kung Pow"reference. XD! The original movie scene with the villain being hit in the groin by the pole without being hurt is actually what made Oedekerk want to make this movie. I cry laughing in the scene where the group beats the crap out of the Chosen One with the staffs. "Hey, whoa, easy! We should wait or something..." Theres an alternate cut on the DVD which is the real dialogue the characters are saying(along with the original Chinese). Such as the Chosen One telling Master Tang: "You are the Pie Man. Your pies are known for miles around." Lmao, I'm SO damn glad you got to see the after credits scene! I myself didn't know about it until this year, even though I had seen the movie a lot of times! And every time, I can't stop laughing. "Hey, just because you fade to black doesn't mean he's stopped! He's STILL EATING ME! I PROMISE! Somebody GET ME A STICK!!!"

Kung POW is one of those films that never fails to make me laugh. No matter how many times I’ve seen it I can always go back and find something funny.

I remember seeing this movie in a theatre the weekend after it came out. I went with my dad, and there were maybe six other people in the theatre, and we laughed so much. One of my all time favourite comedies

YES. This is one I recommended and it's pure madness and parody. Thank You!

He also stated that he has thought of making a spiritual successor to the film using Spaghetti Westerns and/or Sword-and-sandal films.

The 3 times that I watched this movie were the 3 days that I most laughed in my life.

They actually went through like 100 movies trying to find the right one to use as a baseline to work off of.

another great reaction, I saw this in the theater, when it first came out. another one of those gems. The actual scene where Evil Betty's clothes change happens in the actual movie. plus them beating on him during the courtyard scene, always makes me laugh

The thing that really makes this movie work is that it was very clearly made with a deep love of old kung fu movies and so much of the humour comes from parodying the old terrible voice dubs they did of these movies when they came to the U.S

I don't think I've ever quoted more lines from a movie in my life..truly a classic in my book!

The cow scene didn't age well for me. The rest of the movie still holds up.

This movie was inspired from "Dead men don't wear plaid" with Steve martin (his best movie), when you are comfortable with some noir movies from 30s and 40s "Dead men don't wear plaid" is a must, it is genius!

One of my Dad's favorite movies! I remembering watching this for the first time with him. And we were having barrels and barrels of laughter! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Honestly saw it close to the year it came out, so 6 or 7. My dad absolutely loved this movie and my brother and I laughed our asses off at the beginning, especially when she keeps him rolling down the hill 😂

I'm so glad you watched this and did a reaction video for it. This movie changed my life and shaped my sense of humor; it's a work of art! I love that you rolled with it too. Your commentary was gold 🥇.

So on the DVD version not sure about the Blu-ray they have other languages and or tracks. You should listen to the English 2 or 3. What they originally say is absolutely hilarious as well... A very well parodied movie indeed....

Not sure if anyone else recommended it but Steve Oedekerk also wrote and directed NOTHING TO LOSE with Martin Lawrence and Tim Robbins which is also hilarious

This is one of my favorite movies. In the extras they reveal that when they got the movie reel, it fell apart from being just so old, they had trouble using certain parts of the movie because of it. And I think they got the bad-guy actor's real life grand son to play the same character for the CGI some GCI edited stuff for "Betty." There's also an amusing "What they are really saying" version of audio where you get to see and hear what they were really saying before they redubbed their lines to match the out of sync mouth movements of the non-GCI characters.

I just have one thing to say about this movie. "Wee ooh, wee ooh wee ooh wee."

I've probably seen this movie a hundred times. I don't even laugh anymore to it, but it still manages to be one of the funniest movies ever made. Your reactions were pretty much exactly how i felt the first 20 times.

Your reaction is what I envisioned when I show this to my friends, I got otherwise. I appreciate this. At least I know someone else find it funny besides me.

Sorry about your friends, dude, I had similar situation.

I totally forgot how hilarious this movie was. I hadn't seen it since I was a preteen and now I am in my 30's. Wow. I still laughed just as hard, if not harder than when I was a kid.

One of my all-time favorite movies. I mean it has gopher chucks and everything. If you look up how it was made you'll appreciate it even more.

This is one of my all time favorites. Its so batshit insane 😂

One of my all time favorite martial arts movies. Nice to see someone do such a great reaction video to it. Now if we can only have a fan project to have the sequel made then we can finally have a conclusion to the story.

Man I loved that movie, just so much chaos in it. It is a hard one to process because it is just the randomness of humor in it.

I just realized I've commented on this thing three times. This is one of my favourite reviews from you and I'm still watching all of your stuff. I always go back to this one because I laughed just as hard as you do watching this movie with you. And the moment that just solidified it for me is when you connected the scene from Kung Pow to the scene in the Holy Grail and that was it for me. You are right up there with the top!
