It feels a lot like the first Scary Movie in that it actually has a plot and isn't just a bunch of references.

That “I’m not wearing any diamonds” line hasn’t left me in 15 years.

This movie was written, produced, and directed by Craig Mazin. He went on to create the Emmy award winning show Chernobyl and also co-created The Last of Us.

This movie somehow managed to weave in every 2000s superhero movie in one. Telling the SpiderMan origin combined with the Batman origin and mixing the Xmen and Fantastic Four. And they did it before WAY BEFORE MARVEL ever did.

The Tom cruise bit makes this whole movie worth watching,just hilarious.

I love these parody movies! So freaking hilarious. Airplane, Naked Gun, the Scary Movie franchise, Superhero Movie, Disaster Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, and so on.

This is one of the only good ones that manages to be mostly funny outside the first couple of Scary Movies or the older ones like Space Balls and Airplane. Some have funny moments, like Meet The Spartans or Date Movie, but are overall just not as funny.

all you have to do is shoot him. he has no super speed or super strength. in a serious setting, his projectiles are far more dangerous

I actually watched this movie accidentally because I saw Drake Bell was the lead some years ago. Back when Drake and Josh were still on the air. I absolutely loved this movie. It is an underrated gem of parody movies. C:

First three times I watched this movie, I was laughing so hard I actually had trouble breathing and my insides were in serious pain, I actually had to go to the hospital and get an asthma inhaler and some medicine to ease the pain, soon as I got home... I immediately rewatched it two more times, trying to force myself to chuckle as lightly as possible to avoid the pain in my sides.

Honestly, this and Not Another Teen Movie, I recall being the two genre parody films that seemed to actually stick to thier genres for the most part and had actual effort put in. Some of the simalerly named films just kind of hodge podge together different unrelated things because they were pop culturally relevent the years they came out. I remember liking this one.

Yeah and this was thank god not made by the guys who did Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, The Starving Games, Superfast, and the worst of them all- Disaster Movie!

The Hourglass is probably my favorite part of this movie His suit looks sick, he’s got a cool superpower, played by Christopher McDonald, it’s all perfect.

the movie is spider-man, with batman history, and X-man friend, and the end.. when he fly that is Superman reference 😅😅

This movie unintentionally predicted Drake bell playing as Spiderman in the Ultimate Spiderman TV series.

Interestingly enough, this movie is what got Drake Bell the role of Spider-Man in the Ultimate series.

That might be the best Tom cruise impersonator I’ve ever seen

Fun cameos: Dr. Strom is Brent Spiner, best known as Data on Star Trek: The Next Generation The Board Member who Landers kills at 4:30 is Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson (and the Robot Devil on Futurama) And Aunt Lucille is Marion Ross, the mom on Happy Days. Also, Rick's dad is the pilot from Airplane!

Oh the 2000s parody movies. They were awful and amazing at the same time. I have no idea how so many were made (Superhero movie, date movie, disaster movie, epic movie, vampires suck, all the scary movies…) and all of them are just so bad and you must see them to appreciate that era. Hope you do more!

The scientist who screams like a girl in the beginning actually is well known for playing Data on Star Trek. If you watch the Big Bang theory, they reference shows of back in the day like Star Trek. And Star Trek actors do appear on the show.

When Mellverse saw the guy putting lotion on his chest and said, "Oh my f*****g God." That was so funny to me! Great reaction Mellverse! Keep them coming!

I have seen just about every single parody movie made, and I will happily rewatch them over and over again

Had this film been made after 'Spider-Man: Homecoming', it could've parodied all 3 generations of Sony's handling of the franchises.

Bro, ANYTHING that had Leslie Nielson in it, was my favorite comedy. Whether it's this, Airplane!, Scary Movie 3, or the Naked Gun trilogy, the man was a comedy legend 😂

This is Probably My Favorite Parody Movie,Drake Bell is Great and the Song is Amazing,the Jokes are Hilarious,the cast is Great,and it’s Leslie Nielsen’s Last Movie before Passing Away,Rest in Peace,Epic Movie,Meet the Spartans,and Disaster Movie is More Insane than you can Imagine.

A couple of parody movies to watch that’ll peak your interest, both starring Leslie Nielsen, “Wrongfully Accused “ and “Spy Hard”!

The best part of the whole film was the living room fart scene. Oh my God does that part always make me cry laughing and get the laughing cramps. Ah the best part when when Drake ask Jane "don't cry", and she responds "I'm not, my eyes are burning" God me and my dad lost it to that scene

The good thing about this one was how restrained it was. Most of the jokes land... okay, but when the big laughs come they dial that up to 11 and just redeem the whole thing. My favorite is the cheap hourglass and "I have ONE HOUR TO LIVE!".

Man, even watching the reaction is enough to make me laugh with teary eyes... That is a testament of how balls to the wall batshit hilarious this movie is 😂🤣😂🤣

my mum and dad took me to see this in the cinema when I was just a kid because I loved superheroes, they had no idea what the movie was about and I got to see a film I was way to young to be watching.

8:27 fun fact, in the brazilian dub the same guy that voiced spider-man in the original trilogy (Manolo Rey) also voiced dragonfly in this parody, it just made the whole movie much funnier in brazilian portuguese since you would actually hear spider-man voice in dragonfly

Baseketball should be on the list if you haven't seen it yet. Excellent parody of sports movies. It's written and directed by one of the Zuckers from Airplane and the Naked Gun (also a producer on this), and it stars Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Here in South America (or mainly in my country, Brazil 🇧🇷) this movie was VERY well known, because is the kind of humor we have here in your movies.. I remember watching this movie several times as a kid and laughing out loud.
