Kung Lao was holding back, but he did underestimate Tomas a little.

Best fight of the series! I love how Kung Lao's and Tomas' music themes go back and forth when the battle starts to go in their favour

Before a Reptile Assassin killed Tomas while attempting to kill Kung Lao. Sad but that is Mortal Kombat.

The way reptile came in as a lizard, turned human, spat that acid turned back into a lizard n left is so badass.. what an entrance we shud see this again with modern day technology. They need to do a remake of this scene

Too bad he had to die. Such an amazing fighter. His footwork is second to none(ok, maybe Noob Saibot). Got unreal endurance, is skillful and smart. I think he is a lil bit better than Kung Lao. He woulda beaten him if Taza hadn't stopped him. From non-God/non-shadow priest fighters, i believe only Kreeya, Master Cho, Rain and Noob Saibot are better. Perhaps Kitana also. So, i rank him just a tiny bit above the likes of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Shang Shung, Quan Chi.

yeah i agree i think he would have beaten Rain. just my opinion.. and he was whoopin Kung Lao until Taja stopped him. i thought that was crazy (growing up) to kill off a character that good but oh well.

I don't think of Tomas as equal to Rain though. And by Rain i mean only the one depicted in the series. He was way too good, way too fast and his combos were top notch. Tomas vs Kung Lao was a close fight. Rain vs Kung Lao was a slaughter. In the second part of the fight, Kung Lao managed to damage Rain with some kicks, but overall he got an epic ass-whoopin. He couldn't deal with Rain at all. Not to mention the massacre of Siro, who couldn't even touch Rain, but gave Kung Lao a decent fight in the Quan-chi episode. From what i saw in the series alone, i think of Rain as equal or even better than Noob Saibot. Then again, i respect your opinion :)

yeah i see what you mean. i believe Kung Lao only fought Rain once.. have to check, but i wish they had kept Rain, Noob, and had Smoke fight at least once. they would be handing out ass whoopins all throughout the series.

Dudes, Rain is of Edenia, he is immortal, that's why he is so good. Shao Kahn conquered his realm and started using him as some kind of mercenary. Noob Saibot is also good, but he doesn't stand a chance against Rain, Rain is a machine.

he would probably beat scorpion and many others way faster than kung lao did, and in a more brutal way. what a pity he had to go, him and kung lao would have virtually been unstoppable

we all saw that Tomas could have won that fight right?

@battlenigga I belive that it was thomas who was holding back and being distracted by Tanya 2 times... Kung Lao didnt because he did his final move, the flipping kick thing. Dont get me wrong, I like Kung Lao but the fight would end different if it wasnt for those 2 reasons

@battlenigga you pointed something... Kung Lao was in the floor way more times, he was beaten already until Tanya stopped him. Thomas was not trying to fight and you can see it at the beginning of the fight, Kung Lao was willing to and pushing it. Even after a rough beginning Thomas had the upper hand. Thomas showed more control than Kung Lao and like it or not, if Tanya wouldnt have interfere, Thomas would have won

@battlenigga ok now that you mention Siro i have another way to prove it... Once he an Kung Lao fought seriously right??? Kung Lao won and we all know that story... Tomas on the other hand had a PRACTICE match against Siro and Siro wasnt holding back... Tomas broke his arm... without even trying it. Kung Lao is a really good fighter and in the series they had to prove the point that Tomas was at least as good as Kung Lao, what i'm saying is... in this last fight you could se that EVEN without starting the fight, EVEN he didnt try to fight at the beginning and receiving more damage, EVEN without using killing moves (the flipping kick is consider a killing move) he could have won that fight, but he got distracted and still had the stamina to save Kung Lao from Reptile. To me, Tomas was the better fighter

@battlenigga Sorry got bussy at work and couldnt reply. Overestimating himself?? no my friend he was the bigger man, he didn't want to fight Kung Lao because he understood that they sould fight together not against eachother so the better choice was to leave, Kung Lao thought of himself as some sort of "Judge" and if it wasnt his way, he figths... anyway we are not talking about moral judgment or anything like that. The point is that the were equals i get you that but because Kung Lao lost his cool is the reason he almost looses this fight. Who's better fighter??? who knows, i'm 100% with you in the part that we dont have enough material to come to a conclusion, what i said in the first coment was Tomas could have won... my reasons??? again i put the example of Siro, yeah Kung Lao almos kill him BUT HE WAS IN FACT TRYING, Tomas didnt and broke his arm with ease... some people call it the power of the script, i call it TANJA

@@danielamaro7788 the point is in both circumstances, Kung Lao was incapacitated. He was incapacitated much longer in Shang Tsung fight so there's no evidence Kung Lao couldn't come back from the stomping.

Tomas is Smoke's past life. Remember his real name: Tomas Vrbada.

They should of let the fight reach its climax Rayden would of stopped them and Tomas would of not died and Kahn would have two great fighters to undermine him though doubt Tomas would fair any better against the shadow priest

It's not over till it's over, besides this wasn't about being a fair fight, this was about stopping a suspected killer any means necessary, cowardice doesn't come into it
