The best Raiden is still Christopher Lambert because he mixed being serious and funny at the same time For Shao Kahn, I agree with you about Jeffrey Meek. In my honest opinion, he should've been in MK: Annihilation instead of Brian Thompson He captured the gruff, cunning, serious and straight to the point essence of the character. They could've had a body double who fit the height pose as Shao Kahn in the standing scenes.

I like to think of the sarcastic Raiden as a blending of who Raiden started out as in the first game(hedonistic god who couldn't give a crap about what happens to Earth) and the protector of Earthrealm from 2 onward.

Jeff Meek deserves so much credit, the show was so elevated by his dual performances of Raiden and Shao Kahn. The way Raiden was written as a half-assed Thunder God who just shows up for work because he has to. It's a personality of Raiden that only "Defenders of the Realm" were able to match. #Nerd

I liked how they gave everybody a back story and didnt just throw characters in there for fan service basically. Minus scorpion I didnt like that one and ironic takeda ended up being in MK X as hanzos apprentice basically. I think this show was to ahead of it's time it would've thrived in todays climate cause I think MK is the most popular it's ever been in terms of fans and quality. Imagine this raiden going thru the stories we saw in the game and how entertaining it would've been to see his reaction to the story line of MK9 thru 11. That would've been dope.

Iko Uwais as Kung Lao, Donnie Yen as Raiden, and Tony Ja as Liu Kang would epic for the mortal kombat movie!

Christopher Lambert and Jeef Meek were amazing in this role, I like how this Rayden/Raiden seems more snarky than the overly mystic and dead-on serious god. Too bad the series did get canceled because most of the actors did not wanted to continue this. I actually thought this was an amazing tv-show for its time.

Actually, the show did not get cancelled because of the actors. They were told there was going to be a season 2 and were full on board. The broadcasting station/programme had issues with the budget for season 2 and so they pulled the plug. If memory serves me right, that is. Anyways, I do agree with you. I so like this version better. He was sarcastic and a jokster at times, but when this Raiden got serious, you knew shit would hit the fan. It made the interactions with Kahn in the finale so much more compelling and added an extra layer of gravity. Damn, I wish they had made a season 2.

Compared to the NRS Raiden this Raiden is Oscar worthy. Not that I'd insult Raiden by giving him an oscar.

Why couldnt he be in the new movie? He was perfect. He was the best raiden and shao kahn ever. This show deserved a second season tho. Would've loved to see how that dream woulda panned out. TNT coulda had a successful show on their hands and MK hadn't reached its peak yet at this point but maybe one day we can get a series like this one. RIP MK Konquest. S/N: To Ed Boon and NRS, please put siro and taja in a future game they were interesting characters that never made it out of this show.

To be fair. Jeffrey Meek should've been in MK: Annihilation as Shao Kahn. He captured the essence of what made him who he is. Shao Kahn was not only hulking, but also intimidating, gruff, cunning, serious and straight to the point.

Actually, the official lore is that the ending really happened, so the Elder Gods ended up reversing all the damage & banning Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat for 500 years (until 1491). Siro & Taja are in M.U.G.E.N. at least. So that's one game, albeit not a MK game.

Honestly with Raiden mortal following MK11, I'd adore seeing a more relaxed and fun loving Raiden next game.

As for me that was the best version of Raiden by far. I just don't dig his "non persona" character in the games. This one was good. I liked sarcastic-down to the earth dude that always chiled around. I think Christopher Lambert was great too. He's Raiden was hopeless and far less sarcastic and i think that made sense since his version of Raiden is the one that saw the dead of Kung Lao from Goro's hands. So he just lost any hope for saving Earthrealm.

Sub Zero in that show was kidnapped by the Lin Kuei as a kid to be trained as Sub Zero. Kung Lao and the team were going to visit Sub Zeros real parents. So Rayden referred to the family as the Zeroes

No liu kang doesnt even exist yet and this is before goro and shang tsung won 9 in a row cause goro isnt even mentioned but is seen here and there (CGI) basically all the gods and sorcerers and tyrants that shaped the Timeline is in this show lol. Sorry for the long reply.

And shang tsung is still young shang he ages but slowly, Kung Lao doesnt age for 50 years since he won the tournament. I think if a season 2 happened Lao would've been killed by goro like in the original story. Also this series is more of a origin story it tells how some things we know from the games came into play. In this series you see the beginning of black dragon I think the red dragon too, lin kuei, shadow priests, and reptiles zataran (spelling) race. Simply put, the lore of MK that made the games great.

He brings an innocence to the table that makes lt believable that he's a legitimately good person sufferring from his thoughts of inadequacy & death of Jen.

@@Kazuma14thaflame Thank you. He's not the best actor ever or anything, but at times I feel like I'm looking at a real person. That takes talent & I don't often say that. For what is essentially the television equivalent of a B-movie, this shows really supercedes all expectation. The only thing I don't like is Chris Casamassa as Scorpion. He is horrendous, although I know why they chose him. I don't really like the wrestlers playing characters like Sub-Zero either, but that was a network decision.
