Don't forget Shaolin Soccer, which was the film he made before Kung Fu Hustle. That's what's so charming of the entire film...the script, acting, dialogue, cgi....entire purpose is is to entertain the viewer...not be a visual artistic slow drama that 90% of people can't stand....this flick is true art and makinonb movies is to entertain someone...not be artistic....put this movie up now and I guarantee it'd be nominates

At 3:14 I noticed a small detail I had not before. The Beast had a single drop of sweat going down the visible side of his face. Whether he was consciously aware or not he knew instinctively that this guy was going to be trouble and his body was already under stress from the anticipation.

The significance of the ending can not be understated. After showing him that he could have ended it whenever he wanted, he grabs what was a weapon, and shows it as instead a toy. The same was as the martial arts, not meant to harm. When he asked him what move it was, and was offered to be taught, he was forgiven of his mistakes however great. He saw him as he was, seeing him in the shadow of the sun, he felt a wave of every emotion possible, fully accepting his offering of forgiveness and teaching.

When Sing offered to teach the Beast the buddist palm, it was precisely at that moment that he was pulled back to sanity. The beast felt humbled to be defeates by someone so talented, and all his convictions fell apart when Sing chose to spare him. I love this movie..!

@@MrBottlecapBill you know, it's hard to disagree with you, but at the same time it's one of the most humbling things he could have told the dude. Guy is sitting in prison, not because they caught him, but because he's bored. You think he needed the hero to pick the lock? He could have thrashed that prison cell and been gone. Somebody breaking into a prison to get him, though, that's rather interesting (the only reason he plays along). He sits at the top of the martial arts world, and he knows it! Hero offering to teach him _anything_ is one of the most humbling insults he could have offered, especially given the age difference.

Kung Fu Hustle is a great homage to all the kung fu movies, kung fu masters, stunt man and Bruce Lee. I love how the bad guys aren't looking super tough but rather how smooth and swiftly they fought. And the way how Stephan Chow imitated Bruce Lee with his fights and his clothing was a great tribute. And then the running joke about a stuntman too.

Sorry, but no matter how good he is, all it would have taken for Thanos was a snap, and he would be done. Even saying this takes away from the sacrifice that Tony Stark made to defeat Thanos. He and Spider-Man would have been a good fight though, I'm not sure who would win. You're obviously delusional if you think this guy could beat Thanos, he couldn't even have beat Corvus Glaive, not even on his worst day. In fact, I would say that almost any Avenger could have stopped the Buddist Palm with their pinky, and then annihilated the guy. Sing went from all talk, no action to doing a complete 180. Through out the movie he would try to pick a fight with everybody, but he couldn't back up his words. In this scene he's totally quiet while fighting and the only time he spoke was after defeating the Beast.

As much as I like this fight scene, I think the moment he hit beast before gaining these great powers was my favourite in this movie. He could've chosen an easy, evil way, but instead chose to fight impossible odds to do what's right, and that's some impressive shit.

The man who plays the Beast had been retired for many years. he had always been the good guy in his films. This was his return and the first time he ever played a villain.

This is what movie all about.Makes us glued to the screen with excitement and forgetting about real life. Sucks us in with the scenes and not get tired watching it.

Yes Kung Fu Hustle 2 is coming. We don't know when for sure, because he's working on The Mermaid 2 (Mermaid might even be better and is the alltime box office champ.) Steven Chow won't appear in it, other than maybe a cameo - in fact, it will be all new characters, with most likely a female lead.

1:15 I consider this the single greatest attack move ever in the history of action comedy movies.

One thing you should know is that this movie was released in 2004. The graphics, storyline, humour, and the actors must be highly appreciated. I wish they remake this movie or make a squeal (though there was a rumor about KFH 2)

It just so happened that Oda, the creator of One Piece really loves this movie and made an live action for his own Manga thanks to Stephen Chow 😅

His wave to them at the end 😆 🤣

Such a beautiful scene. Masterclass in film making

That foot stomping scene is still one of my favorite move in this movie. I could just imagine that each stomp is the equivalent of having a heavy metal piece getting dropped on your foot, yikes!

What i learned from that movie? Never underestimate the power of toe-stepping technique

Stephen Chow is a GENIUS !

That "talk to the hand" technique was powerful in middle school. Girls have mastered this technique since like age 5 or 6.

Bro really had Ultra Instinct before time😂

I love the sound fx here 0:38 the echo on those punches make it feel so much more powerful

2:00 "If our son were alive he'd be his age now" You know I'm starting to think that the before the events of the movie the Land Lord and the Land Lady used to be a very happy married couple however that changed when their son died which turned the land lady into this bitter old hag while the land lord resorted into adultery as a means to cope for the lost of their son.

This movie was & will always be one of its kind in every sense. I waited before its release back in 2004.

Buddha in the form of cloud blessing that scene really felt goosebumps

Still get goosebumps whenever I watch this scene. Just epic!!
