Kubota ZD326 - zerk/grease fitting countdown

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Showing all the zerk fittings on a Kubota ZD326 zero turn mower. 4 on the front wheels. 9 on the deck. 3 on the front shaft and 3 more on the back shaft. Total = 19. Let us know if we missed any. And yes, I’ve been missing the 3 zerk fittings on the rear shaft...shame on me for being so ignorant but happy to find them and now have them along with the other 16 zerks on the maintenance schedule. As far as I can tell there’s no damage, likely due to low time. It’s a great machine and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stout and durable mower. It’s a keeper!
Update - There is a zerk on the front axle pivot point that I originally missed and discussed in a separate video. I should’ve updated this video with the information.

I just came into a used 2009 ZG327 this year and have done quite a bit of maintenance. I found about 10 of the same fitting and thought I was good. Apparently I have some more work to do. Thank you sir for taking the time to make this video.

Hope you enjoy your zg326. Our zd326 has been a great piece of equipment over the years. Was purchased in 2006 and still using the original battery.

LOVED the video! Hubby was writing down info as you went through. He found 1 other spot - they call it the "center pin" (pull up front cover and look UNDER the horizontal arm that attaches to the 2 front wheels). There's a small hole in which you'll find the zerk fitting that greases the pivot mechanism that tilts the mower. Operators manual - periodic service, page 51. That makes 20.

Just bought a used ZG327 that had a new factory engine put in. So thanks for the heads up on the grease zerks, as I'm anal about doing maintenance. Think its around a 2010. Lot to learn about this machine and the pumps and PTO.

It’s been a great mower and if you stay on top of the maintenance including the tiny gear box oil changes and oil level, it should serve you well!

I know this is an old post but maybe this will help someone. My 2001 ZD21 has all of those fittings and more . Front deck strut arms has one on both sides at the mowers frame and the transmission control levers have one on each side in the shaft they are mounted on (under the seat) my mower is old so these fittings may not be on the newer machines. It's worth a look.

If you take the deck plate off (were your feet go) their are 2 fittings on top of the deck pivot , just like the 2 on the bottom. Which you can grease easily. (Don't have to take anything off) The deck plate comes off 4 13mm bolts in the front , 2 under the plate (1 on each side) back by the front of the tank. But you have to take brake release pedal off , also 2 - 13mm bolts no nuts , they tapped were the pedal bolts too. Thanks Randy.

Believe it or not but there's a zerk fitting that needs grease for the raising & lowering of the deck. Best way I can describe its location is, it's located almost directly behind the center nut that holds the Carter Key. You'll need to get on the ground to see it. So there's 20 zerk fittings. I found this one during a routine inspection.

We use Amsoil 15w40 Synthetic Marine Diesel oil and change it once every 2 years only because we put very few hours on in a given season. We’ve owned the zd326 since 2006 showing 240 hours. Hydraulic oil gets changed every 5 to 7 years. Was using Amsoil but switched to Kubota Synthetic Hydraulic Oil. The Hydraulic filters (there are 2) are expensive.

The gearbox oil I change every 2 or 3 years. We made a video on how to change it...check it out. It’s a different way of doing it without making a mess. Thank you for watching! The 326 is an awesome machine if taken care of. Take care.

Thank you. The fittings on the shaft, how do you get the facing up. They always seem to facing the wrong direction. So 20 fittings to grease in total?

You can try tweaking them but be careful about over torquing and shearing similar to what I found on our new zero-time snowblower. Who ever torqued the main auger zerk over did it. The rear shaft is the most difficult to access so be sure the mower is elevated high enough to allow you to get at those zerks.

Left a message I bought the hydraulic oil on another video. Just got my mower I bought a month ago is 234 hours. The hydraulic oil looks clean, does anyone know if it gets dirty or does it always look clean??

  • @Stromzilla

    @Stromzilla

    3 жыл бұрын

There’s no combustion process contamination so it’ll stay much cleaner than engine oil. However, hydraulic oil will attract moisture over time and therefore would advise you follow the owner’s manual recommendation for changing fluids.
