    I know this is an old post but maybe this will help someone. My 2001 ZD21 has all of those fittings and more . Front deck strut arms has one on both sides at the mowers frame and the transmission control levers have one on each side in the shaft they are mounted on (under the seat) my mower is old so these fittings may not be on the newer machines. It's worth a look.

    Can you tell me what prop size and pitch you use with the 150 on the cvx16?

  • @Stromzilla

    Raker 14.5”x24” and also I have a 26” too. I like both for how I drive the boat. If you were pulling tubes skiers, a 20”/21” would be more appropriate.

    That’s nuts. I had a CVX 16. They’re rated for a 90hp max. I had a 120 on mine and !it would fly. That engine puts it in another league

  • @Stromzilla

    Our 1979 CVX16 is rated to 125hp. 150 in the wrong hands could be lethal. Didn’t set this up for speed but rather for the acceleration. It’s a lotta fun.

    The front anti-scalp wheels snap ring pin kept falling out on mine so I replaced them with bolts and double nutted them. Never had one fall off again. The center anti- scalp double wheels will get gummed up and stick to the bolt, causing the bolt to spin in the hole and wear the bolt and hole out. I welded some rod to the head of the bolt. This rod goes rearward and bends 90 degrees which then goes through a hole in the mount. No more spinning bolt to wear out.

  • @Stromzilla
    @Stromzilla12 күн бұрын

    Yep…good idea and something I’ve considered and will eventually do

  • @norm-nas
    @norm-nasАй бұрын

    23 psi in the front tires, 17 psi in the rear tires helps make the cuts better. The deck height adjuster by your right hand can over time and vibration settle lower so the grass is cutting lower than you want. I drilled a hole in the adjuster gear and frame, dropped a pin in the hole so the adjuster cannot move.

  • @norm-nas
    @norm-nasАй бұрын

    When you crank up the front end the jack screw threads need to be lubed. Knock off the plastic cover, it's not needed. Oil the threads when the front is cranked all the way up. It makes it easier to crank by quite a bit.

    Recently blew the gearbox on by zd331. While looking at the parts computer at the dealer I noticed that a dipstick retrofit kit is available for the gearbox. Gearbox is $1550.

  • @Stromzilla
    @Stromzilla12 күн бұрын

    I’m sorry to hear that. My approach with the gearbox on our zd326 is to change out the gear oil on a 2 year cycle. My concern has always been with the box having a low oil capacity and condensation collecting internally. This approach has served me well. Gear oil is cheap compared to a gearbox replacement.

    @@Stromzilla please send me the type and brand battery you referred to in an earlier video that is much lighter than conventional lead cell batteries. I finally completed my restoration project on my 1979 Glastron Carlson CVX16. Unfortunately I will disappoint the purest out there because my first order of business was to take off the crippled 1979 150hp Mercury and replaced with a 140HP Suzuki - mama wanted reliability :-) Then I proceeded to completely replace all wood in the boat with coosa composite on transom, stringer, floor, flotation encasements, and fuel deck and replaced bolster boards and bench seat back with pvc. Replaced all wiring and fuel lines. Reupholstered and added upholstered side boards along the floor on each side similar to the 1980 models - the added storage space is has really been a plus! Also had it clear coated and it can out beautiful - almost show room looking! Look forward to your reply on battery info (I no longer need the mirror info as I recently found one the mounts to hand rail). Thanks

    This spring i purchased a chris craft scorpion fishing boat with a 200hp Evinrude etec outboard.This motor is a 2005-2006. Right out of winter storage, into the water it started right up and ran great at high speed. I started tolling with it at 1.5 - 2.5 mph and after about an hour it shut off. It started right up and i could troll another 1/2 hour or so. The shutting off and restarting came more often and harder to start. I changed the fuel filter and in line water seperator. I went trolling again and there was no inprovement in the performance. I intend to clean and recalibrate the spark plugs. How do i know if the oil injection on this two strock is working currently and will improper oil mixture cause this problem? May Day on Chautauqua Lake, NY.

  • @Stromzilla
    @Stromzilla10 ай бұрын

    It’s possible you might have air in the oil lines. Try running the motor thru the winterizing process at least twice to clear out any potential air.
