That's the one thing I like when I'm on the tractor I never worry about doing something quicker I concentrate on just enjoying the tractor... I refuse to be in a rush over anything anymore 40 years of that crap for a living.. slow down and soak it all in

Watching you work your machine is like watching a conductor conducting a orchestra. Bravo! The BX moves a lot of snow. Bravo.

Thanks man, yes it’s been quite a year! I’ll tell you what tho I’m ready for spring so I can get back to playing in the dirt again because moving snow isn’t as challenging to me and gets old quickly haha. You guys in Canada usually get it hard, you still got snow up there? Ours is almost melted now but we are suppose to get more before next weekend 😅

I got my new bx23s a few months back now, and I’ve been able to put it to work lately with the snow we had, got a buddy who has the plow attachment who is gonna share it with us, but I absolutely love the tractor.

Thanks David, I do plan on building a bigger garage this summer, I’m thinking like a 32x22 with 2 bay doors and one man door with a few windows.. Iv been talking to a company talking about the process, I would prolly pour the concrete floor myself with my buddy Joe. Hopefully this summer i will have a totally different setup, lord knows I could use the room/storage!

You should move your truck and pile that snow away from the house! Idk how the ground is around the foundation! I know in Texas we have to water around the foundation so it doesn’t crack cause it gets so dry in spring and summertime! Hell the neighbor could put that truck in the backyard on blocks til spring if he ain driving it throughout the winter so you don’t have to keep plowing around it!! Looks good and your ch. has come along way!!

My buddy Matt and I always talk about how he needs to put that truck out back for the winter and cover it up, no need to have that thing out in the middle of the driveway all winter long. He doesn’t drive it much in the winter but if it were me I wouldn’t drive it at all in the winter! I wish he parked it out back it use to be much easier to plow when he did that but oh well what you gonna do lol. Hope your doing good out in texas man, one of these days I’d like to take a road trip out there maybe I can stay with you?

Haha.. it is fun to plow but I tend to like warmer weather and summer season much better than winter seasons as I’m able to get out in the yard and do more work with my tractor other than just plow but the snow def keeps things interesting around here! Also forgot to comment, maybe you should make a new video changing out round skids to square skids, artillian seems to have great attachments, I would definitely go with something artillion if I had a setup , but round skids are definitely different because it digs., That would be sweet to watch the video of you doing that.,. But again round skids are probably for turning and stuff it seemed like a square skid would want to make it flex on each end you're the man you would know talk to you soon hopefully see you on the next one.

Yah the skids could be a little larger in diameter that would def help it stay afloat and not dig in so much when the ground is soft.. instead of 4” round skids building them 6” or so would make a huge difference I think.. that 2” extra in diameter would prolly be all it needs but then again my driveway just sucks to plow when it’s not frozen yet no matter which plow I use and takes forever to freeze haha. That would be a great future video tho, thanks for watching

Like always great video!!! I know its probably cost prohibitive, but in your case I would use a front or rear mounted snow blower. Less mess to clean up in the springtime. At least in my experience.

Some day I’m gonna make a video explaining why I don’t have or use a front snow blower, it’s not because I don’t like them or don’t think they work great it’s just tough as I use my loader a lot in the winter months also and it would be a pain to keep switching back and forth so I’d rather use a plow I can attach to my FEL so I can use my bucket, grapple, or pallet forks as needed through out the winter months. Hell that’s a good idea Larry! I have been doing a lot of price shopping lately, looking online at garage kits that ship to your door, also been talking to a few Amish guys, trying to figure out what rout is the best to go and which is cheapest.. I plan to pour the pad myself with a buddy of mine who does concrete. I’ll def keep you posted when I figure out my plans or I’ll explain them in an upcoming video. Def stoked to get a garage and I only wanna build it once! Haha

@@BiffsEquipment Absolutely brother! Shop around! We`ve had our garage now for just a little over 4yrs now, and it has been flawless for us. My wife paid $6k for the garage, and i think she paid around $3k for the concrete job. (of course prices are higher now!) They had the garage built in about 4.5hrs...DONE! No leaks, still looks like the day it was put up. (i did have a slight mishap though couple days ago, i slid on the ice into the side of it with the tractor bucket and put a little one inch gash in one sidewall, arggg!!!) As with any garage that isn`t insulated, and you likely already know this, it gets real hot during the summer, so make sure you add in a 120volt power vent at the peak, and install some cold air intakes at the base of the walls to suck in some cooler air into your building budget. You can get a power vent from amazon pretty cheap. I think i paid about $100 for ours. If you decide on a metal type structure, i`ll tell you ahead of time, condensation is a huge factor when you heat it in the winter. But don`t let that scare you, a good insulation barrier will stop it. For now, we`ve just been using a 135,000btu salamander heater just to knock the chill off. Eventually we`re going to put in a better (less dangerous) heater, but the funds are the problem with doing it right now. Living on disability sucks. Surely keep me posted when you get ready to build it. I dont mind taken the drive up there to lend a hand to a brother if i can. I do have a little something that i`m going to bring up to you that you can hang it in your garage too, i think you`ll like it. ;) Ok later my good friend... you be careful out there!

Thanks Gary, yah I live in upstate NY, we have gotten quite a bit of snow here so far this year and I’m sure it’s not over yet! Suppose to get more next weekend I think. We didn’t get a ton of snow beggining of winter but it’s def making up for it now and since we haven’t had a big melt yet this year everyone’s snow piles are really huge. I don't know if this year is typical snowfall for your area. If so, I'd be looking hard at a blower for that BX. Real PITA pushing and running out of room. You get it done though. Blowers aren't cheap either. Stay warm and dry brother!

I get that question allll the time why I don’t have a snow blower, I plan to make a video soon explaining why I don’t own a snowblower and prolly never will and it’s not because I don’t like them as I feel it would work perfect for my driveway it’s that I use my loader/bucket, grapple, and pallet forks alot in the winter, whether it’s an odd job I do for someone or cleaning up a tree that fell or unloading a truck with my forks the last thing I’d wanna do is have to remove the snow blower and the entire K-frame and have to reattach my loader (which is tricky with a cab on) all to use my bucket, grapple, or pallet forks.. so for this reason aside from the crazy price of a blower is the reason I don’t own one. @@BiffsEquipment OK, you answered my question also. I guess the tradeoff is also you have large snow banks on the edge of your driveways vs throwing the snow away from the driveway. Here NE of Syracuse we haven't been getting the usual lake effect from Lake Ontario. I'm assuming that the lake is pretty much frozen over due to all the sub zero temps this winter. So far measured 95" for the season. Cheers, Bob.

Another great video Mr biff it does look like it is easier to steer with the plow then your snow pusher. Originally I wanted plow on my loader to the dealer talked me out of it by saying that it put a lot of side Force on the loader and they had lots of people who have destroyed their loaders due to hitting things and twisting them do you have any concerns of that thanks again for the great video’s

Thanks Mike! I’m not sure why your dealer would say that.. I mean I guess it can add some extra force if your plowing on pavement in high gear and catch an object on the very corner of the plow because plows are typically longer than a pushbox due to it having to angle.. so in those terms I guess it could put extra load on the loader but I don’t think in normal circumstances it puts anymore side load than a pusher.. if anything a pusher would put more side load on the loader when turning as the skids and style of a pushbox is not meant to turn it’s meant for plowing in straight lines where a plow is meant to be angled and turned hence why a plow has round dished skids and why a pushbox has flat long skids.. Hope this helps!

Thanks Ross,.. as for the "looseness" I wouldn't say the plow is loose par say its more or less getting use to the amount of travel up and down it has due to the auto float.. Because of this you have to set your loader at the right height depending on the ground your plowing on.. If the ground dips you'll wanna slightly lower the loader to make sure your keeping enough slack on the chain... Like-Wise if your going across a bump you'll wanna adjust your loader slightly also to make sure the plow stays level when you go across the bump/hump.. It takes some time but as you see now after only my 3rd time using the plow I pretty much have it downs now. Thanks for watching!

You should think about getting a front mount snowblower. Your life would be alot easier and you could blow the snow into the middle of your yard. I love mine on my BX24.

Thanks Rick, I agree but I have reasons for not wanting a front mount blower even tho I know they work wonders.. some day I plan to explain in a future video why I don’t own a snow blower and prolly never will, it’s nothing personal against them it’s just I use my loader a ton in the winter and with a snow blower I wouldn’t be able to keep my loader on so it would just create more headaches for me. I use my bucket, forks, and grapple a lot even in the winter.. so having a blower on the front would make my life miserable when I had to switch it all out just to move a downed tree or unload a truck with my forks

Just a suggestion, move your bucket over by the tree, it’ll open up a lot more area to pile so not to bury the bucket.

Thanks Roger, yah usually what I do is move my bucket left and right when the snow bank gets high on one end I’ll move the bucket Infront of the high one which allows me to plow snow into the smaller banks.. I would leave it by the tree but if I need to access my trailer the bucket would be in the way so thays usually why I leave it towards the shed area. Thanks for watching!

You have great fabrication skills, my bx has a pin on bucket I was wondering how hard it would be to put electric actuator's on a ssqa like you have so you can do change outs faster and easier?

I have always considered doing this myself, ever since I first got my loader actually. Big wheel loaders and high lifts and even alot of construction booms have this feature, I would def like to come up with something some day and when I do you guys will be the first to know about it! Mike, Once again a great video. Curious...Why don't you back your tractor into your shed. Is the angled plow to heavy to move by hand to install.... just wondered if you could push the snow out from in front of your shed instead of having to back drag it.

Hey Marc that’s a great question. I usually pull my tractor straight in because it allows me to Maneuver the tractor better when connecting to implements in my shed being able to back out of the doorway let’s me get a better angle on what I’m attaching it to. Also I couldn’t really back in because then I’d never be able to get through the front doors, basically the plow would be right up against the doors so I’d have to climb over it each time I walked into my shed to use my tractor and because my shed is too short I wouldn’t have any room to back away from the plow to re-attach to it where if I face the plow against the wall I’m able to back the rear of the tractor out of the shed to get away from the implement enough to raise my loader and set it on top of it. I realize it’s hard to tell all this from videos but my tractor barely fits in there length wise, I’m stoked to get a garage built this summer!

How do you get traction with the plow being so far out front

Make some skid shoes like edge tamers to replace the standard round skids.

Thanks Tony, I did think about finding a way to re-design them but the thing with plow skids is they really need to be round because the plow angles.. Edge Tammers, Snow Pushers, and Snow Blowers all use the same style of skid and that's because they all only go straight forward or straight backwards. If I designed the skids the same for the plow they would prolly be worse when the plow is angled not to mention if they were long and skinny they would more than likely hang passed the plow blade which wouldn't be ideal for getting close to objects and back dragging but maybe some day ill widen the skids out a bit and make them 6" round instead of only the 4" I think they are now. That would give more surface area to keep them floating on top of the gravel on those wet/mushy seasons. Thanks for watching!

This might be a dumb question but I don’t have any experience making videos, to get the 3 separate shots do you use 3 cameras or constantly move them? Either way I appreciate the hard work of making the vids

Haha that’s not a dumb question at all! Not many people do so that’s a normal question to ask. This video I only used 1 camera, it’s a ton of work and requires a lot more in and out of the tractor to move the camera around to get the shots then you have to put it all together in editing to make it Seemless but in the end it’s worth it.. I usually try to have 2 cameras at all times tho to make getting on and off the tractor less frequent so I can focus more on the task I’m doing and not be so worried about if I’m getting the shot or not. Hey Jason, I haven't noticed any power difference just yet but I chalk that up as a win because of how tedious the job was the fact that its running as good if not better with these aftermarket plungers is a good sign to me.. That in combination with a horizontal mounted auger that would be near the base of the plow, ground driven, to help facilitate in removing the snow built up at the bottom of the plow. I saw this type of plow before but I can't find it again.

That’s kind of a hard question to answer because both def have their advantages. I like the plow for deeper/heavier snow for sure because it allows me to angle the snow to the side so that I’m actually able to push through to the end specially on those first few passes but the pushbox I love for it’s simplicity and ease of use.. if I had to pick only one I would choose the pushbox purely based on its ability to handle many types/debths of snow even tho it’s not as great in deeper/heavier snow it still gets my vote for the lowest price and it’s insane effectiveness for how simple it is.. in the end it really comes down to the money you have to spend, the type of driveway you have, and your plowing style.. hope that helps answer your question

why not just raise your boom up and curl your plow down all the way then u could probably leave the plow attached when u put your tractor in your shed

Great question, I tried this when I first got the plow the first time I tried to keep it in the shed but found out you can only curl the plow so far before the hydraulic lines get stretched too tight and I didn’t wanna break them so I stopped.. the plow wasn’t made to be tipped all the way down like that so I can understand why they didn’t make the lines long enough.. plus they prolly wanted to eliminate having so much extra hose flopping around.
