    I live probably 3,000 miles from Messicks. Yet with today's technology I watch these videos. There are volumes of information gleaned from this, as I'm tractor shopping. Neil is doing incredible work for their company. And also for Kubota! Keep up the good work, Sir. I'm an old man and have son's older than you, and I am inspired and energized by your videos. Hope to buy a B2650, B2601, or L2501 or L3301 very soon... I worked a small tractor business with a Kubota B7100 my dad bought back in the late 1970s. I was 16 years old. I want another Kubota. God Bless.

    Neil you do a very great job with these videos. I have watched this video numerous times and have made several trips to my local Kubota dealer here in Mississippi trying to make the right decision on which tractor and mowing application will best work for me. Your excellent work producing these videos is a great resource for those of us working through understanding the differences in these machines. I have decided that the B 2601 with the 60" mower deck equipped with front end loader is what I need for my lawn care and lawn maintenance business.

    Good job Neil. You explain things very well and i like that you don't talk the competitors down. My previous tractor was a Kubota L 2650. I now have a J.Deere, its a good tractor but I'm more of an orange tractor guy. The only reason i went green this time was cost. I couldn't pass up the deal and the incentives that came with it and the loader. Thanks Neil.

    I watch these all the time, they are the most informational videos I have ever seen that really gets to the core of what things are about. I live in Upstate NY and I am looking for the tractor that is going to serve me for years to come and help me with some projects I have to get to. Unfortunately I did buy a machine a little under powered and not able to come close to perform the task I will need to get done in the coming year or so. Thanks for these wonderful videos you may not think you are doing a lot, but believe me, you certainly are. I am most certain I will be purchasing a Kabota or New Holland because of Neil from Messick's I am leaning toward Kabota.

    I love the BX models. I really needed the L 4701 for the job specific ump it gives me in those areas, but nearing the end of the loan on my L model, I’m starting to look hard at adding the BX mostly for mowing and space restricted areas I can use a little ump. Besides, the wife loves outdoor work and would not be intimidated like she is with the L. A thank you to Messicks for shipping my supplies promptly and getting my order right. Thanks - I went to my local Kubota dealer yesterday and wasn't impressed w/the salesman's knowledge but at least got to see some units in person. It really is difficult to keep the Kubota models straight. Then there's the L series which also overlaps and has yet another engine on the L2501 that differs from the B2601 or B2650. I really liked the size of the B2601.

    Looking at a B2601 HSD, I will need it for land improvement, I only have 3 acres, but the backhoe and the loader will really come in handy, QUESTION I understand that this unit will not take the place of full size equiptment, BUT are they capable of hoeing out ditches and spreading gravel in the drive- or are they just oversized Tonkas, I understand it would be faster with a larger unit- but will these get it done??

    I live in the PacNW and recently bought a B2650 which has wildly exceeded my expectations. My only regret (seriously) is not getting one sooner. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars renting equipment over the years, wasting time ordering, waiting and paying for delivery/pick up and often having bad weather on the dates I needed to use it. I'm not a big fan of borrowing money (I paid cash for mine) but I would have been ahead in the long run if I would have bought a Kubota years ago and made payments on it.

    I just bought a new house with 6 acres to mow and maintain. I'm currently mowing using a borrowed John Deere 4410 with a 7.5 ft finish mower, and I'm looking to purchase my own setup so I don't have to borrow. I've looked at the BX series but will this make my mowing take a lot longer? Is a B2601/B2650 too much tractor for its primary use to be mowing 6 acres?

  • @hc7190

    @hc7190

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hi Tyler , Not sure if you ever got an answer to your question . I have the 2650 and it has many advantages over the Bx series , but the Bx is easier to get around in tight spots and low branches on trees etc. . If you do your own work like changing fluids etc. you will definitely like the higher ground clearance as you can slide right under it . It is definitely not to much tractor for 6 acres of land . You didn't give any description of your 6 acres so it is kind of hard to answer your questions properly .

  • @MessicksEquip

  • @pyroman6000

    @pyroman6000

    Depends. Belly mowers are not so good at making the fancy schmancy patterns that some seem to like, and they're DEFINITELY not as agile, lol. However, if you just want to cut your grass they work fine. Big plus: the tractor is useful for a LOT of different jobs- the zero turn mower? Well, it can cut lawns, cut lawns or cut lawns. Both will cost you a pretty penny. Imo the 0 turn is a VERY expensive toy, unless you cut lawns for a living- or have a LOT of lawn. You might like it better if you have an obnoxious amount of trees, planters and other obstacles to mow around, as well. Both options beat stomping along behind a push mower, though!!

    Hi Neil, have you got any figures for rough fuel consumption of the various models? Obviously it must vary a lot depending on the task, but just a ballpark would be useful. Many thanks, videos have been very informative.

  • @HandfulOfTranquility

    @HandfulOfTranquility

    5 жыл бұрын

    It does VERY much depend on the task! With a lot of idling or just general driving around I can go 15-20 hours before I add another 5 gallons to my tank. That is less in winter when I am using more of the available power for snowblowing, but even then its about 40% warmup time and 60% actual work time. With these diesel engines it is very much dependent on the actual load. I think you could probably figure on around an hour per gallon if you are more working the vehicle. At a high engine speed they use around 250 grams per kw/h of power. WHats that in US measurements? Right around .1 gallons per hour per HP used if I'm doing my math right. Not sure what just sitting there idling counts as, but say you are using half the rated 26 HP so 13 HP, that would be 1.3gallons per hour. My numbers are based on the fuel consumption at 2200 RPM www.kubotaengine.com/assets/documents/11_d1305_30.pdf

  • @jimwilloughby
    @jimwilloughby5 жыл бұрын

    Neil, I've been toying with getting a B 2650 or a B3350, so this video was helpful. My primary use will be snow plowing and removal. Does Kubota offer a rigid rear hitch upon which a ballast block could be mounted. I don't like the idea of using a three point hitch for that because of the constant strain on the hydraulics, and because I don't like the way a block would sway back and forth when in use. The mass of a concrete block would knock the rear end of a machine left and right and it is disconcerting to say the least.

  • @MessicksEquip

    @MessicksEquip

    5 жыл бұрын

    Lock the block down with sway bars, then it won't move. The weight on the 3-point is not an issue. I'd fill the tires or do wheel weights before cooking up a way to put the weight on the back.

    Neil, I bought a 2018 JD 2032R Ive had nothing but issues out of it. The tractor does everything I want and need. Most of the problems are associated with the tier 4 emissions system. I would love to trade for a 2650 but I'm not sure it will run my 60" tiller. What would be my best move? I mostly use it as a forklift for my fab business.

    Question on the B2650 with the cab. I am buying one from my local dealer and had a question about the radio option. Does the radio come with any special features like auxiliary connection for an iPod , CD player, Bluetooth etc?? I noticed when I was looking at the tractor that it looks like a standard rectangle slot that normal car radios fit in. can I just go to say Walmart and buy a Panasonic car radio with all the bells and whistle‘s and get it installed? My local dealer told me that the radio that Kubota offers is $175 and I found a Panasonic car radio with all the bells and whistle‘s for $49 at Walmart on clearance brand new.

Do you happen to know if it has a constant 12 V supply on one of the pins when the Key is off? Because the radio I picked to put in my tractor needs a constant 12 V supply as well as the switched 12 V supply that is already in the plug for memory saving.

I’ve always felt that the stick is a bit stiff and hard to be smooth with. I am an excavator operator by trade and have 20 years of experience running equipment. I’m just not happy with the feel of the stick. I’m otherwise very happy with the tractor.

    Thanks for the response! I don’t expect the feel to be comparable. The only reason I give my experience is to communicate my familiarity with running equipment in general. I’m just having a hard time with fine adjustments. Once I have applied enough pressure to the stick to move the hydraulics they “jump” too abruptly. I’ve tried adjusting the throttle which helps a little. I guess if that’s just to be expected I’m disappointed with that. Like I said though I am happy overall.
