Love motorcycle videos that are actually educational, not just childish entertainment. Anyone know of more like this?

Bout to clean everything up, get the valves, head gaskets, and plugs. Try to knock everything out in one go. Wish you showed what to do if the valves were out of spec, from what I've read that seems pretty rare but I do wail on her sometimes. Also, those extra connectors under your seat I believe are the ones that are normally ran to the back along the subframe, right by your taillight and evap canister. Forgot what they were for, I want to say it's diagnostics and some others are for aftermarket electronics like tire pressure monitoring for those who take em racing. Appreciate the free information man 👍

Great video! Man that is a lot of stuff to remove! I just got my RC8 and after watching that I just might take it to the dealer. 😂 Nah, always good to work on it yourself if you are mechanically inclined enough. Allows you to learn the anatomy of the bike.

What tool did you use to get to the throttle body screws inside of the airbox? I can’t seem to get to them properly through the hole on the side of the airbox.

At about 2 minutes into the video you’ll see the tool I used. It’s a nightmare to undo them but it’s doable.

The air filter is the same as the rott, it was developed first and then rottweiler sort of, became more popular i guess by using the same design 🤔 at least from what I have read rott just copied it and was more successful due to greater resources. The rott is on mine, if there is any difference I assume it would be in cell density of the foam. Great job with the video, itll help a lot of rc8 owners on the Facebook rc8 owners groups. I didn’t even know there was a Facebook group. I’ll take a look thanks. Have you seen our vid on the tank fitment ? I had a nightmare fitting it till I discovered the way I’ve done it on the vid.

​@@RCMadControllers yeah this is the method that all of use within the group. i usually dont need to use that method but i just had mine apart for 2 months doing several upgrades and chasing non existent vacuum leaks, etc, i ended up using this method by my tank was nearly 2.5 cm out, i ended up using a ratchet strap on my t-rex frame sliders and the subframe to get it all back in line, i wont be leaving it off that long again lol

@@RCMadControllers haha, i freaked the first time, had no idea about the ethanol issue. trying to save up enough money now to start making carbon tanks for it as a replacement. student budget tho! hopefully within a year.

Does the airbox need to come off to change the spark plugs?

Those bloody rubber seals

At 14:28 If I have all of those parts off at that point can I change my spark plugs? I'm looking to change my spark plugs and just trying to figure it out

Yeah at that point you should be able to change both spark plugs.

Apparently it's impossible to get the tank back on after it's been removed, due to swelling.

@@RCMadControllers Sorry my english, I'm from Russia). I watched the video completely. My RC8 has two crankshaft marks. Where should the cams of the first and second cylinders be directed? On which mark should the crankshaft be placed - the first or the second?

@@alivio1100 As I’ve said, if you watch the video. At 15.59 minutes I explain what you need to do. There should be a dot on each which you line up to each other. Then you place the locking bolt in so the engine doesn’t turn. Hope this helps.
