KTM RC16 - Full Development Video | Building a Prototype

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

KTM made its debut in the 2017 season of MotoGP. See the story behind the development of the Red bull KTM Factory Racing Bike RC16.
The KTM RC16 has a 90-degree V4 engine developing around 245 bhp at 16,000 rpm . It has a steel-tube chassis with bottom-braced aluminum swingarm. The front 60 percent of the RC16’s “tank” is a black carbon cover over the engine’s sealed intake airbox, fed through a generous-sized oval opening at the front fairing. Most of the fuel is lower down, closer to the centre of mass. The KTM RC16 though, does has some resemblance to the Honda RC213V. The RC16 has a steel trellis frame.and has 17-inch wheels and carbon fibre discs. Brakes are of Brembo and the suspension is by WP suspension.

    One of the things that make me dislike the current models of some motorcycles is the weird-sounding engines. The current R1 models, as well as Ducati, including the KTM RC8 itself, are an example of this. But this prototype KTM RC16 surprised me.

    The 2020 season has just concluded. KTM is now a front runner and will be a serious threat to win the Championship in the near future. There pace of development is very impressive to say the least.

    Chandra Yudistira 250cc 2 cyls have very weak torque, compared to KTM 1 cyl. You need to rev higher to get the torque kicks in, but the 1 cyl will deliver torque and power across all rev range. If you only care for sound, then motorcycle isn't for you.

    in house made parts and high production volume to eek out small issues. If you look at Euro bikes, a lot of them share same brand components across different brands. i.e. Brakes, Electronics. So reliability is sacrificed.

  • @tidaltidaltidal

    @tidaltidaltidal

    3 жыл бұрын

    Japanese bikes usually have lower engine compression and less electronic aids. They don't have the guts to invent new parts because they afraid the engine won't last long. They like to play "safe". Meanwhile, the european counterparts, they love to invent new things. The first motorcycle are invented by europeans. A lot of new parts, electronics, aerodynamics are patented and even used by japanese bikes. But because europeans love inventing new stuff, they usually forget how to make them reliable. The need to sacrifice reliability for new inventions. People saying that japanese bikes are more advanced than european bikes.. complete bs.
