Me too. But the world is completely different just now. It looks like we cannot ride at all for a few months. 😷

I am a regular follower of your videos. I bought a 790 Adventure in 2019 to travel around Spain, obviously COVID19 thwarted my plans. I have thought about buying a motorcycle more suitable for local off road routes, (I live on the island of Gran Canaria so the difference between local routes and long trips is clear). I was stumped by your change because I was unsure whether to buy the 390 Adventure or the 690 Enduro. The problem is that I have tested the 390 but I cannot test the 690 as there is no test bike in the Canary Islands. My main fear is that the 690 could be too intimidating off the tarmac in addition to the height issue. I am 1.72 meters tall and I weigh 65 kilos so motorcycles that are too big are uncomfortable for me. As I strongly agree with all your opinions about the 790 S it would be important for me to know your opinion on this change. Thank you very much

Hello José. If it is to be a 2nd bike rather than the only bike (as in my case) then it might change my opinion. It was actually the test ride on the 390 Adv which made me decide I could live with a single cylinder bike again. But I did not want to drop (after much thought) so far in power. So the 690 seemed logical - also prices were reduced as end of season, by a lot. I also wanted it to be as light as possible, I get tired getting bikes in and out before riding (medical/age). The 390 Adv is much cheaper. Probably almost as capable on tracks if you take your time. Also it is a bit lower. The 690 is very high. I can cope with it at 178cm (including my boots), but only just and only because it is less than 150kg. I do love it though. Getting the 690 lowered is possible, but there seems to be a big shortage of kits till next year. The Covid thing has been a real change for everybody. We are locked down again just now. There's little I can do in terms of riding whatever bike I have. I can only tell you my thoughts. How did you feel on the 390 Adv, were you happy? Or you could wait for the 490 Adv which might appear next year.

My wife claims they are perfectly edible, I disagree! 😁 I used the one on my 790 Adv for everything. It even takes a monokey kit so you can add a top case without a plate 👍

It seems you cant buy from the eu now .Could I ask what you payed in total e,g Duty tax etc ? Thank you

I bought before tarrifs came in. If you contact Perun Moto he can give you accurate, uptodate, info. Very helpful guy who rides a 690. 👍

Did you get permission from “the boss” to use the dining table as a work platform?

It was actually my garage workbench for 20 years. Then she decided she wanted to ‘upcycle’ it. So I still use it for it’s original purpose (when she is out 😁👍)
