KTEH Sakura Wars donation drive

Фильм және анимация

Just going through some old VHS recordings and found these snippets at the end of the Sakura Wars episodes. I was only interested in recording the episodes, so I don't have the complete footage, but now I find them fascinating and wish I had the whole thing.
Apologies for the corruption in the second segment. That's what happens sometimes when you record in SLP and hold on to a tape for 17 years.

RIP Tom Fanella, he passed away quite some time ago and I don't see many people talk about him despite being very important to many anime fans of the past

It's really amazing to see somebody that you would take a look at and assume he would never take an interest in anime but it turns out that not only has he heard about it but is literally an anime connoisseur. This man is based asf. Probably one of the first men of culture in the United States to. EDIT: I recently learned that he passed away back in 2007. RIP to this man and condolences to the family. 🙏🙏

This is surreal to watch, but I love it. The only time I've seen anime on TV was a broadcast of Pop Team Epic on Adult Swim in 2018, and occasionally skimming over them on cartoon channels in the mid 2000s. Seeing Sakura Wars being broadcasted on a channel like PBS is beyond me and the last thing I'd imagine. Thank you for sharing this!

gives me chills just seeing this why cant pbs affiliates be more like this these days its not called national educational television anymore there called the public broadcasting station for a reason this isn't the 1950s anymore pbs deserves more interesting content, especally with how shitty mainstream childrens stations like the hub/discovery family and noggin had become between 2002-2017 and stations like adult swim and spike tv being way too edgy to show anime without it being cringy we need a local station that airs both anime and old reruns of not just old sitcoms, cartoons like helluva boss and high guardian spice and game shows but also old pbs shows like bob ross and old episodes of nova and this old house, alongside e3, comic con and even midwest furfest coverage maybe even an npr station equivalent that airs eurodance and strictly rhythm style deep house in a similar fashion to the old energy 108 in my hometown kinda like radio eurodance classic humanity needs a station like that again that kind of station is the kind of station my dresired reality self watches all the time
