    Absolute gentleman. They don't make many like him anymore. His retirement was a sad day for British sport.

    @@OlympicFoil Indeed - as if they thought they had paid enough money to guarantee a medal. Very sad state of affairs. Fingers crossed that Mepstead will perform well in the games this year.

    Great fencing. Two champs who are both great technicians and respectable sportsmen. But the two obviously GB commentators commented as if they had been football commentators, often forgetting to discuss technique, and just making a lot of enthusiastic comments. Focus on Kruse, from GB, obviously.

    @@271chrissy You could say that about any sport. Soccer is kick the ball in the net, and track is run fast. What makes it difficult is that you face opponents who have trained their entire lives. I promise you that you could fence for twenty years and not even get close to touching these guys. Any sport is just a game in the end, but that doesn't mean everyone is capable of being an Olympian.
