Krka or Plitvicka? Or both? | VanLife Croatia travel guide

Welcome to VanLife in Croatia's national parks - in this video we explore Krka National Park, and Plitvicka National Park. As you'll see, we contend with busy crowds as we try to find quiet parts of the park to appreciate nature. And we ask ourselves the question - Krka or Plitvicka, which one is best?
In Krka we succeed to escape the crowds, as we visit manojlovački slapovi - our favourite part of Krka National park. It will seriously blow you away with its beauty. While we realise that Plitvicka has become a victim of its own success, and get a little frustrated with other tourists!
Oh, and before we get here - we also say hello to our friends Charlie and Tasha at We Bought a Van - go give them a follow here: / @weboughtavan

About us:
We're Jack and Jo, and that hairy, scruffy little guy is Frank our adventure dog. Since 2020 we've been living and working from our tiny home on wheels, as we seek an alternative way of living. We sold our flat in London to live an alternative lifestyle. Quitting city life for Van Life, and we haven't looked back.
Our Story:
In September 2020, we sold our flat in London in search of an alternative way of life. We bought a van. Had it converted into an adventure van/come office. Picked up a furry co-pilot - our border terrier adventure dog Frank, and set-out on the road.
We haven't looked back since.

If you've watched our video and made it to the comments - hello! Incase we weren't clear, when it comes to choosing between Krka and Plitvice, we'd go for both! But if you want to avoid the crowds (particularly in Plitvicka!) go early! As a reminder - our whole VanLife Europe trip can be watched from here: kzread.info/head/PLYfrP6gmgBYGVM6gJyji9vCnIssRztWl8 OR if you want to start from the Balkans, start here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pmphtdKJgLmcZpM.html Thanks for watching - next stop for us is Scotland, see you there!

I went to both recently and preferred Plitvice tbh, although both were amazing. I think the fact they closed the whole upper lakes section when we were there helped though, we didn't see the sign and wondered why we had the whole area to ourselves 😆 It definitely takes away from places when they are packed (although we have to accept that we are part of, rather than a victim of the tourist traffic, of course as you alluded to).

Haha! Love that you had the upper parts to yourselves! Sounds like bliss! We liked Plitvice, but I think after having that top bit of Krka, which was a bit wilder, and alot quieter it was a jolt back to civilization almost 😅! The boardwalks are a blessing and a curse - really cool that you get so close to the Waterfalls, but you can end up queueing up! But yep you are right - we are part of the "problem" (if walking around looking at lovely things is a problem, of course 😜!) Thanks for commenting ! 🤙

Thanks for watching, sounds like you've got some exciting travel plans! The Outer Hebrides are honestly so incredible. We're coming up to our last day of about 2-3 weeks on various islands up here! We've had some incredible weather, and hopefully you'll get some ideas for your trip from it! Also, great tip! It'll be one last video series of us butchering Gaelic pronounciations on the Outer Hebrides, before the next few videos of perfect place names! 😂 Thanks! Jack

Haha! It's in the British psyche to complain and enjoy things at the same time 😜, but yes, agreed! Lesson learnt. That spot in Krka was our favourite for that exact reason. Thanks for commenting!
