I think they just made that up. How could the vehicle end up in the water without being in gear. It’s possible she had keyless start and she threw it in park as she was crashing. However there is nothing official stating that it’s was in park with keys in pocket. It’s just rumours. I really wish the sheriff would give them the case files though

To much to drink, left her phone in the restroom. She went into the river and being drunk not thinking she puts the car in park and pulls keys out of the ignition, as the car sank she realized she couldn't get out of the front doors so she climbed in to the back . Under extreme stress ppl will do crazy things and add alcohol to that and no telling what goes thru a person's mind

She certainly doesn't look like the type of person who'd just drive off the side of a road and into a body of water. The Sheriff should he ashamed of himself for not working with her parents, which certainly is suspicious. I live in Maine, and law enforcement wouldn't act like that around here towards a grieving family that lost a child. My prayers are with her parents.

Nick Motsarsky Her ex is an officer. Doesn't take a genius to put 2 and 2 together. You shouldn't blindly trust cops or law enforcement. They are as human as we all are, and just as prone to mistakes. Only difference is that they can hide behind the badge. And before you say it, I'm not a cop hater. I was raised by one, employed by one, trained by one, and saved by one, so I have no reason to be bias against them other than knowing the truth from second hand experience in the departments local to me. Your defense of these investigators and the sheriff are an insult to the family that has had to fight them to get ANY information about their child's death. Shame on you for that.

You can just tell he had nothing to do with it. It’s not just by him saying no, but his body language shows that he is innocent as well. I do agree with a comment here about the fact that he served her alcohol; which most likely in excess. I frequent a couple bars in my area and a few bartenders know me and will hook me up because I tip well. However, it’s obvious the bartender really cared about her and and kept an eye on her so she wasn’t ever in danger. I feel so sorry for the father though. It’s obvious she was a daddy’s girl.

Put the keys in her purse(or pocket I cant remember which they said) I think the sheriff knows it was a suicide. Sealed the file to protect her father from that knowledge

This whole thing stinks of a coverup. The behaviour of the sheriff's department is downright bizarre. It seems almost like they just wanted to give the impression that they conducted an investigation. 3/7 people fail their polygraphs and one comes back inconclusive and...? Nothing? That makes no sense. Polygraphs are merely tools. They don't mean anything on their own. The cops are presented with the story that she was at a bar, sober enough to drive, vanishes without a word, leaves her cell in the bathroom, drives miles in the opposite direction of her home despite being observed turning in the direction of her home, loses her fender a mile before crashing into a body of water, where she puts the car in park, turns off the engine, takes out the keys, gets in the backseat and folds her hands in her lap, proceeding to let herself drown without any injuries to her body, even though there is extensive damage to the vehicle, shortly after she complained of a potentially dangerous ex who is a police officer. And they rule it an accidental drowning overnight, seal the entire case file, and gather such little evidence that her parents have to provide them with phone records. And the sheriff literally hides from the news media? Wtf? Seriously.
