I thought that but the weapons expert I kinda believe. They way he described it, seems plausible. I heard the way he did it you do tend to slump forward/you’re body will still move for a second or 2. I totally agree though his friend sounds totally guilty, just need more expert opinion imo because imo suicidal is still plausible (mostly due to that expert)

I have been a medic and cop for a over a decade- I have seen suicides where the gun flies out of their hand and ones like this. There’s no rules for suicides to follow. It depends on your grip strength, where are you shoot yourself, the caliber of the gun… There’s too many factors to just say that because the gun is still in his hand, it was placed there.

The thing that frustrates me about these shows is that when it is ruled a suicide they always say 'he would never do that', 'he never talked about depression or killing himself', 'he didn't act depressed', etc. Most people who kill themselves don't show obvious signs of killing themselves and last time I checked most suicidal people don't talk about feeling suicidal to most people if anybody at all. I am glad that they figure out if it was a wrong diagnosis at the end of the day but I hate hearing them say that stuff.

He was never upset and he was always the one to help me with my depression. When I got the call I didn't believe it. I kept saying he wouldn't do that and someone made it look like a suicide. I was in denial. But after I grieved, I know he did it. I can't believe I even thought someone did that to him. I think about him everyday. We met when we were 9 and for 18 years we were closer then brothers. But I understand what your talking about. Not all people who commit suicide show signs of depression or anything like that. My coworker was a very happy person at work, talkative, joked around a lot and had plans to return to school, just moved in to a apartment and was looking forward to going back home to visit parents. I was with him the day before he died, no signs whatsoever, but he committed suicide. It happens, even though the family refuses to believe it.

I don't think you understand how threats work: Zubich didn't threaten to kill West; if he had, then that would have looked really bad for Zubich. Zubich didn't threaten to kick West's ass; if he had, then that would have looked bad for Zubich. This type of threat is about unlawfully injuring the victim of the threat. Instead, Zubich threatened to report West to the police; you don't go from "I'm gonna call the cops on you" to killing someone, if there's no imminent threat coming from the person soon to be the decedent. Zubich knew West was armed with the handgun, the value of which was the object of the dispute: unless Zubich had been suicidal, Zubich wouldn't have been unarmed when he confronted West in-person, if that's the way this had gone down. However, there's no evidence that there was a gunfight, and there wasn't evidence that either Zubich or West had been in a different sort of physical fight. The explanation from 16:14 seems most reasonable and consistent with the actual evidence.

As a person who lost a parent to suicide one month after turning 18, please, don’t ever leave your child, because then, your emotional pain and emotional burden become your child’s. I know this firsthand. You would never want to think of your child considering taking their own life just in the chance that they’ll see you again. Aside from that, your life matters past being a parent. Trust me, I’ve been there, and I understand the pain, pain so deep your chest aches, pain so deep your whole body aches even, the dry heaving, the neglecting care of oneself, I know this, and I’ve lived this. He admitted to murder in that conversation about the text messages. He lied and said he didn't remember anything about those conversations but he remembered the "argument" about the "money" situation which was enough motive for his friend to be murdered. Plus, what drunk person goes to another person's house wanting to do laundry especially after such a heated and threatening conversation? These parents are always swearing up and down that their kid would never commit suicide because there was never any signs of it. Well guess what, sometimes there aren't any signs. I had a friend that committed suicide, he was 25. He had depression when he younger but it was the "be lazy and lose motivation for life kind", not the "life sucks I'm gonna end it all" kind. When he died he was a nurse at a hospital and was taking certifications for a different position. He was doing well and living a normal life. Anyways the family is getting ready to go on vacation. His parents, his younger brother and two of his siblings that are married are coming along with their spouses. The night before they were talking about the vacation plans and what sights they wanna see and activities to do. The next morning when he isn't up yet and his alarm has been going off, his dad goes in his room to wake him up. Except he isn't there. They search the house and find him hanging in the basement with a picture of him and his siblings from when they were kids. No note. No explanation. No signs. Just the picture. His parents too say that there was never any indication that anything was wrong, they never saw this coming. Same with his friends and co workers. Everyone was shocked. At some point that night he got in a dark place mentally and couldn't get out. Sometimes people kill themselves when you least expect it.

I have been a paramedic and an officer for over a decade. Suicide plays by no rules. Just because the guns in his lap doesn’t mean it was placed there. That is determinant on many factors. I’ve been on suicides for the gun flew out of their hand and I’ve been on suicides with a gun we’re still in the hand. It depends on the persons grip strength, the caliber of the gun, and where they shoot themselves. Also, someone’s mood right before they kill themselves often seems “happy”. I have seen cases where there was a video of the person killing themselves, and the family still claimed it as a homicide. Suicide is extremely difficult for families to except and they often refuse to except it. And often people who commit a suicide seem to be someone that would “never do something like that” Fun fact, most suicides are not accompanied by a suicide note. If the man wanted his gun back it would be a lot easier just to go over there and take it… Why would he go through all the trouble to get his gun, shoot his friend and leave without his gun. Motives are key in a lot of cases...

As i saw people stated he was a left handed shooter, the pics of him with a rifle show him holding the rifle as a right handed shooter. Getting drunk after a bonus, not unusual for military guys, being a geographical bachelor (wife took the kids, he had to move back into the barracks and will get treated like he is in daycare as an adult by his command, is enough for any soldier to want to think about suicide). 3 kids of his own from a prior marriage in his custody until the wife took all 6 back to michigan, that is a reason also. Asking a friend to buy the pistol, not wanting to pay him, that actually might have been the first signs, he had planned this all along and kept it silent. 7K isn’t a big bonus and would probably not even caught him up on his debts. The family no understanding why a grand jury was convened is silly. This is a military town, that supports Ft Benning. Every time a soldier commits suicide, a grand jury is probably convened as a way to cover the local authorities, as an extra step to ensure more than a second set of eyes have seen all the present evidence to rule out homicide. Suicides are way more common in the military and among veterans, 22 a day is around the current norm. 22 people a day commit suicide. Here is something TCD didn’t mention. IF the family can get the death ruled other than a suicide, even and accidental shooting, the widow can get monetary benefits. His SGLI would be between 200-400K depending on his election. Once the death is ruled a suicide, the SGLI is not paid as the service member permanently opted out of the insurance program. Also the wife would not be entitled to survivors benefits of his salary until his projected ETS (when his contract would have ended) and being he just re-enlisted, that would add up to a substantial amount. The family, i am sure they mis him, but the reason for not accepting the death as a suicide is purely money. She already left him, with the kids, what did she think would happen when he realized, he is back in the barracks, alone, drunk, and purposely planned a trip to buy a weapon.

This is one of the drawbacks of owning/handling/messing around with guns. You just don’t know what might happen, or who might use it against you. He DEFINITELY shouldn’t have been handling it when he was drunk. I’d like to know if they dusted the gun for prints, and they absolutely should have tested that friend of his for gunshot residue. I feel for the family. It’s not right that soldiers are paid so little.

  • @jarhed89
    @jarhed893 жыл бұрын

They definitely need to question Kenneth Zubick again (reminds me of Chris Watts in one of those photos). So many things have already been stated, (laundry lie and "just" committed suicide on 911 call), but here's a few I did not see: 1. The pistol itself. I thought at first the slide didn't lock after the round was fired, but had to watch a few times and then saw the jam (almost like a stove pipe). You can see it at 17:57 pretty well. So had to go searching on jams and turns out some Glocks have that problem when using a "limp wrist" (see the Tire Iron Channel limp wristing various handguns). It can also happen if the case hits something on the way out when trying to eject. There are a few other reasons, but this was a new gun. Limp wrist would not work, because he was supposedly leaning on it, so had to have a firm grip, plus it's still in his hand. I personally think this where the pillow comes into play, just not how the expert is saying. I'm thinking the gun was sandwiched by the pillow, not put in between the gun and the body. This would create the jam, since the pillow is preventing the case from ejecting. I think they need to check if that jammed case has an indent/scuff on the side of it, in case the gun was actually fired with the clip in, then after was removed and placed on the table. The loose rounds in his hands as well. So, puts hand on gun sandwiched in between the pillow, rests head on the gun creating the indent, fires. -- Who knows when he actually arrived to his "friend's" house, shoot, he could have even went over there and acted like everything was cool and waited for him to pass out. As far as the table in the way, plenty of time to move it. They never mention stippling either. 2. During the questioning after he's asked about remembering the text (at about 8:31) "Why are you being a jealous ****** he shakes his head and starts clearing his throat. At 9:06 after she reads the part about "Give me my property back, it's not yours. Okay, I'll come and get it." Then boom, watch his involuntary flinch. Knows he messed up. Still wondering why the "comment about the bank account was taken as a threat, but he seems to react to that as well (although the video may be cropped). At 9:50 he's asked how many times did you text him this morning ... "Two or three times ma'am" in odd voice. His comment "Now look at you. You're ******* stupid, the **** you thinking." is the truth, but in a different way. Just my observations ... they also need to check his bank account for deposits around that time as well. I forgot to ask one thing ... at 1700, is that a piece of white cloth around the barrel? Right side, center.

It's obvious that this was a tragic accident. I would never take a poly either, and I never remember the time. Also I've seen dead bodies before, people I've known, my family. My heart was racing a bit, but I talked completely calm, did you want us to freak out, crying and screaming about what we just found? There's no right way to act, during the situation. Everyone is trying to say the friend didn't show enough emotion, well neither did I going by what they're saying, guess I killed my family member then. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So, none of those mean anything. This friend didn't kill him, it just doesn't make sense. Everyone is saying he wasn't grabbing the gun hard enough like it was just placed there, which is a lie. He's grabbing it so hard there's blood pooling in his fingertips, doesn't make sense if the friend killed him, he would have had to kill him what laying down to make the bullet in the ceiling, with the victims own hands? Also with the victims gun? Did he break in when he was sleeping and search around for the gun then kill him with his own hands? Yes GSR could be on his hands, IF he was trying to fight for the gun, which judging by the scene doesn't make sense. So they're fighting for the gun with him laying on the floor in that tiny space by the wall, and while the victim is kinda hunched over? No. A lot of people aren't thinking about all this, and just focusing on he's not showing enough emotion on the 911 call. Also, I wouldn't let my kid touch my PlayStations, but I'd let my best friend borrow it, so that doesn't make sense, perhaps the friend did rob him afterwards, but he didn't kill him. It's an accident, I feel bad for the family but that's what happened. Perhaps he thought the friend was going to come over in his drunken state because of the argument, and was holding the gun to his own head leaning on it a bit and just waiting, and the accident happened. I've seen people do that before, leaning on the barrel a bit.

pay for E-5 with dependent is about 1314. At least in NC. Assuming he has quite a bit time in service he is only bringing in about 2,628-3,000 a month for 6 people. He very well could have been struggling. I’m currently in the army, and know many people struggling with many kids, a lot of times moms stay at home full time because what they would be making would be used in child care costs.

There's no way he could only give his family 500 every 2 weeks from over seas. The moment you get your deployment papers you get an increase in pay for being deployed. Back when I was in it was almost twice your regular pay.

Exactly!! I stopped the video to see if someone else heard that also. Separation and hazard duty pay is over $500 even for an E5. Not to mention his money would have been tax free. He had to of been into some shady stuff.

@@bluelife1503 Right?! I was looking for someone else to mention this. I mean I found it really freaking weird and if you also notice she seems to be smiling too much. Like when asked if she thinks that guy killed him, she says yes while smiling? SO weird.

Im a righthanded shooter but would hold the gun in my left while removing the magazine... i think he did the oppsite and fell asleep with gun in his right hand and accidentaly shot himself... hes "friend" found him and realized he wouldnt get his money for the gun and stole the PS and 400 dollars to make up for his losses... An asshole but not a murderer! (thats why he dont want to take the polygraph!) Well thats my theory...

@Brix Broox Much speaks against it, if he used a pillow there would be feathers and debris inside his skull and no powder burn in the temple, in almost ALL cases a perputrator would send loads of fake SMS- to stablish an alibi like "Oh, im very worried about you if you do not answer soon im coming over!" ETC he had no contact from 12:30 both where drunk he just fell asleep drunk and then stumbled upon the scene and stole the items...

Also there would be his DNA and fingerprints on the bullets inside the magazine cops GURANTEED to check that and why would he take out the clip after the murder and put it on the table? Makes no sense at all...

I think what happened was Ken went over there and tried to intimidate him with his own gun and shot him. And staged the suicide. Or they were both drunk and Ken pointed a gun and said I will kill you and he said do it. Or possibly it was a suicide by force. Where he made the guy kill himself. Realistically he was shit sleeping. With being that drunk he probably passed out, came over to talk shit and killed him just to make it look like a suicide. The clip was out on the table though, so how could he kill himself and unload the clip?

@@killuminatianonymous5551 He could have thought it was empty by taking out the clip, forgetting about the round in the chamber? He was extremely drunk. However other evidence is highly suspicious.
