For those of you who *aren't* in the know, the joke behind the almighty Sword and Shield pulls all the way back from his Crap Guide to Monster Hunter World, where he went down all of the weapons available much like how he did with tanks here, and he *ALWAYS* represented the SnS as entirely godlike. ...which it is, let's make it perfectly clear. =P lol

That is a perfectly valid strat, and as long as you can pop HG in time I see no reason for your party to complain

As a max-level DRK, PLD and GNB, I can safely say I love the Fell Cleave 'again and again' part. Started my FFXIV tanking 'career' as DRK because Unleash looks cool, but... gonna be honest, I really think Fell Cleave looks EPIC. (The bizarre part, then, is that I find WAR kinda... meh? At lower levels, anyway; have a WAR friend who tells me it's fairly slow early on.)

Until you get Inner Release. Then you can go wall-to-wall, pop that bad boy and spam Decimate until the trash mobs are ded.

Eyy, I was mentioned for my point of advice with not dancing around the boss whilst tanking!

I'm pretty sure this has been said but the fact that you have the Spider-Man Carnage super Nintendo music going on in your intro is just absolutely awesome

Well...the other day I was doing The Burn dungeon, and at about 60% of the final boss's health my healer and one of the DPS's got KO'd, leaving me, as a Paladin who mains as a Gunbreaker, and a DPS who was doing this dungeon for the first time. And I kept us both alive via Clemency and we beat this boss...and probably killed Rydia's mother in the process, but hey, collateral damage is a part of life.

Im a range dps (Bard here! :D) so doing all the Moveing about while shooting actually helps cause then, I can move away from the Floor effects in time While still giving buffs or arrows. Tho I do have some healers being angry at me cause I never STAND STILL XDD

You should really watch all his D&D videos too, just for the similarly absurd humor XD

Tbf all this really does is increase my tank phobia… it’s too stressful

The sns joke has come so far but it's hilarious every time he does it.

My tanking experience: 1. Pull wall to wall, see I have WHM so I don't pop mitigations expecting 7 seconds of stun. 2. Get the shit slapped out of me while I start sweating waiting for stun icons to pop up. 3. Pop demo shout and arms length trying not to use long cd's. 4. Stun icons start showing up as soon as I use my mitigations. ...or he just pops regen on me pre-pull and starts pulling threat from all the over healing, most of the time I have to use aurora heal to pull threat from the healer cause of this shit. Which is a good trick to pull huge threat without pumping out a lot of dps during a wall to wall.

My experience as that WHM is my tank pulls two mobs and gets whacked by all the monsters at once and is immediately to below half health so I try to top em up a bit but they just keep fucking running.... Shit. They're out of range. Still getting whacked. Sprint my giraffe ass off to catch up and can do nothing but play catch up on the tank's health bar and if I skip just one single cure II the fucker is gonna die. Would love to cast holy but I cant, bro, or you die before my cast timer is out. Actually had a party wipe on trash mobs this way once. I thought "I'll cast holy and stun!" Wrong choice.

i like how he has the snes maximum carnage main song track as his intro and extro.

But why have the habbit of moving around as a tank in WOW when the mobs can block/parry in the front, and at least rouge and Feral druide had positionals from vanilla through legion?

Its an 8 player raid. By its full name, its The Minstrel's Ballad: The Weapon's Refrain, which gets shortened to Ultima Weapon (Ultimate) which is then shortened to UwU.

About wow tanking. Running around is still a Rly bad idea. It DOESNT make classes ”unplayable” But mobs can party melee hits from the front, Which is Why They would like to attack from behind

I liked FF14 but outside of running the same savage raid over and over there really isnt any end game content and im not paying $15/month for VRchat with less customization and interactivity

@@KrimsonKB I kind of quit ff14 altogether to go back to world of warcraft. Once you beat a savage raid there really isnt an accomplishment or challenge left in the game, it just becomes a 3rd person chat simulator. At least with wow there is mythic dungeon system, mythic raids etc. If FF14 adopted a M+ style system like wow maybe I'd consider coming back but I dont see that happening

It's possible, but it's also just wasn't catering to what you wanted, which is fine. I don't think it's fair to call it a chat simulator just because you personally ran out of pve content. For many in ffxiv, there's content outside of it: glamour, housing, mounts, crafting, events, etc. I also think it's fine if a game ends on it's particular content. You used m+ as an example, which is totally fine. But then there's the wow crowd that doesn't do that at all. So the issue is there too. It's the live service game way: everything has to keep going. It's a good and a bad thing.

@@KrimsonKB Those things you mentioned, glamour, housing, mounts, those arent challenges. Those arent accomplishments to strive to attain to get better at in order to achieve them. Those are all luck based, luck that the old content drops the thing you're personally after, luck that the housing market or markets in the game fluctuate enough that you can grab a house, luck that you win the roll to acquire the mount. If FF14 ever announced a system similar to wow's m+ one I would drop wow in a flippin heartbeat

The same could be said of gear drops in raid progression. The difference is tokens inevitably promisethe needed gear. My point is "endgame" is different per player. Your points are very valid though.

I mean, you're not supposed to be moving around in wow either

Subjective, as pretty much only Rogue's have a positional. If a Warrior has to move around abit, the DPS is not going to be severely impatcted as bad as FFXIV Melee dps.

Well, even for Rogues, the one positional button was pretty lenient afaik, but if you spin a boss around like a top, you'll still cleave the whole party. Plus, WoW has a lot of mechanics that allow a clever to position exactly where it's going to land. Sure, you're allowed to move more, but not by much.
