I love how endearing it is how Kratos kneels down and asks Brok's blessing. The man has gotten gifts of weapons from Gods but he realizes and respects brok as both a friend and a extraordinary blacksmith. Tbh I think Kratos preferred his blessing over the mermaid smith's

I feel like people don't talk about this enough. That has got to be the biggest sign of respect one could get from Kratos, he truly liked Brok and found his company quite enjoyable. Brok didn't lie, he didn't bullshit anything to Kratos and told him EXACTLY what was going on and didn't try and benefit in any way besides just doing what he does best. Kratos considered the dwarves his family along with Atreus, even when Sindri was talking mad shit to him after the death of his brother, saying; "some of us were bigger fools than others" after Kratos said how they were all fooled by Odin's disguise. He didn't fight with Sindri, nor did he try and challenge his emotions, he allowed him to grieve as needed, knowing that he's suffering and just needs space.

When kratos told atreaus he he was wrong to teach him to let go of himself kratos didn't acknowledge himself as a person. Poseidon cared for Atlantis because the city was an extension of his own power. It’s basically a form of narcissism. On top of that it is mentioned that Poseidon was a rapist, so I wouldn’t say he’s “nice”. The gods lied to Kratos that his brother was dead, not in interest of the greater good or anything like that, just to preserve their own godly existence. If they had some dignity they would have told Kratos that his brother was alive after Ares died and it is mentioned that Zeus didn’t want Deimos to suffer. Ares had his own plans. If Kratos saved Deimos after killing Ares, he could have made amends with the god’s provided they told him the truth, but since they didn’t Kratos was completely infuriated.

" It is the nature of a thing that matters. not its form. " honestly, the phrase is really so damn powerful and it even helped me in real life. I went in a huge quarrel with a friend. We stopped talking for months and one day she sent me a simple " I'm sorry " and I didn't even bother to answer because for me after what we went through, I was feeling like a simple sorry wasn't enough. But in that moment, when Kratos said to Brok " It is the nature of a thing that matters. not its form. " It striked me and I realized... she actually felt sorry and apologized. that was the nature of the thing and what mattered. not it's form, the fact that she just put 3 words and not 200. This game is truely a masterpiece.

Its abit more subtle than that. She frowns when she sees the Omega logo, Krato's logo, symbol for War (as Kratos points out in the previous game). its easy to miss, but she then makes a movement and changes the bloods shape to the lambda symbol, this is the symbol of Sparta in the god of war games (on the Spartan shields). This weapon was made for Kratos, not for the God of War, it was to represent him and his "nature". Kratos never wanted to be a god, godhood was something he always resented. but being a Spartan? who he is, to his core. Now this is extremely subtle, but the move set of the spear is actually exactly the same moveset you get with the spear in God of War: Ghost of Sparta.

Kratos has been fighting for forever, and has had weapons forced on him for a long time, picking them up just to continue his massacre of the gods. One absolutely AMAZING detail that I don't see anyone talking about this scene is when the Lady of the Forge extracted the blood of Kratos. When she viewed the nature of Kratos, it formed into the symbol of War, signifying Kratos' status as a God of War, and a destroyer. She frowns, either unsatisfied with what this weapon may be used for, or the nature of Kratos, or perhaps something else we would never understand. Instead, she changes the symbol from War, to Unity (The Capital Lambda, which in Spartan lore meant Unity), and infused it into the spear. I'm not sure what this would imply or how it changed Kratos' fate and nature, but I certainly find it a very interesting detail nonetheless.

Kratos kneel down to get his blessing. Kratos which so many ridiculed as a monster becomes a God which people loved and respected. Sindri which starts as a comic relief character become a character you can't help to feel sorry at the end. Freya forgave Kratos and becomes his trusted ally. Kratos finally let go of Atreus and let him do what he needs to do on his own. Literally every character had their character arc perfected in the end.

I will forever love this moment in gaming because of what it truly represents. Kratos as a character has rarely ever shown anyone any form of respect and Brok as a character rarely receives any respect in comparison to his brother due to his nature, his colorful choice of language, and his overall abrasive personality. Kratos as warrior and a God taking the knee and presenting Brok, a meer blacksmith, with with a weapon said smith forged for the smith's humble blessing, forsaking the blessing of a truly powerful being in which said blacksmith respected since childhood it's something absolutely powerful to watch. Kratos by doing this and saying the phrase " it is the nature of a thing that matters, not its form" proves that not only Kratos was listening to Brok, but also values the blessing of Brok more than that of a legendary being. This act of pure humility and respect from Kratos shows that he is fully acknowledging the work that Brok (and by minor extension Sindri) has done throughout the entirety of their friendship. Rather than forcing the idea of finding another person to bless the spear, he chooses to humbly ask Brok, someone that would be considered lower than most beings around himself, for a blessing which would only be a blessing of meer words due to Brok's lack of a soul piece. Brok even fully acknowledges that his blessing would only be that of words but Kratos wants it anyway. You can really see that in Brok's face and in needing to take a few moments to compose himself that he is moved so thoroughly by Kratos's request his voice even breaks. Both never say thank you, and both just nod. Brok never even brags to Sindri about this which proves that he values this as a treasure beyond any act or words of praise from any God before Kratos. Even Mimir seems speechless by the act of pure respect from Kratos towards Brok and all three men take this as a private moment between the two and don't tell anyone about the blessing. I wish during the final moments of the game that Kratos or Mimir could have said some final words about treasuring Brok blessing during the funeral so Sindri would known that some part of Brok still exists and is treasured by Kratos himself. But then again Kratos is a man of few words and idk if Mimir would have thought it was the right time to mention it. But overall a truly powerful moment.

kratos' "it is the nature of a thing that matters, not its form" line always makes me tear up. without fail. i dunno, something about it just strikes true in my heart.
