Great collection of intros. I miss Ron Stone, Jan Caron, Ron Franklin and Doug Johnson and when all of the news was not BREAKING. KPRC seems to have more changes to their intros than KTRK or KHOU

Of those four, Jan Carson is the only one still with us.
Notable announcers: Charlie Van Dyke, Al Vanik, Scott Chapin, Mark Peeples, and current announcer Beau Weaver.
What happened to the pre-1984 opens? Isn't this supposed to start in the 50s vintage era to present with a station like this?
I always loved the classic opens, because they where chrisper, altough technology has corrected and elevated the graphics, but, I wonder was Ron Franklin a lot like "Anchorman's" Champ Kind?
0:28-3:43 these intros kinda remind me of WISN-TV's intros from around the same time

I always wondered what the deal was with that wonky "2" seen at 5:26. I remember seeing that intro when it was in use, but it was corrected a short time later.

I remember that 2. That was the logo in the late 80's. I remember that one from around 1988
Back when Lisa Malosky was with KPRC (1991-1995), didn't she actually work more weekend (particularly Saturdays) rather than weekdays? And, didn't they hire Pauline Chiou back around the late 1990s as something of their answer to Shern-Min Chow and KHOU-TV?

KPRC, the NBC affiliate in Houston, TX, is owned by Graham Media Group. KPRC is the sister station to ABC affiliate KSAT in San Antonio.
