Spent a day with Dana years ago when he did a show at San Jose State. In private a wonderful, unassuming, charming guy. Then fifteen seconds before showtime he morphed into this comic dynamo and killed. After the show he quickly reverted to the shy unassuming earlier guy. A wonderful day.

Carvey is surprisingly humble for a guy who absolutely killed at stand up. I saw him in the '80s before SNL and he was the best I ever saw.

OMG, you've GOTTA have Dana Carvey on again. Through this episode I found this great and brilliant comedian and I've gotta have more.

One of my absolute favorite comedians of all time!! I wonder when this was aired and what he's working on currently...LOVE YOU, DANA!!!!!!!

Years ago Dana did a show near Christmas for 1st Data Corporation that my wife and I were at. He cracked me up the entire show. You can tell how smart he is the way he can just go and go. Must be the 10,000 hour thing he talked about here. Carvey is just plain funny through and through.

One of the best pure comics of all time. Just excellent. Great interview.

Dude the JFK and Elvis in a bunker thing is hilarious. For some reason I think Dana Carvey is one of the bests comedy actors of our time. Amazing impressionist as well.

Dana was big on SNL when I was in my '20s. For my money - he's the best that SNL ever had. There are many other great ones, but he's at the tippy-top in my book. And now many unanswered questions I've had forever about Dana, have now been answered. So thanks so much for this Kevin! Love your chat show. In fact, as far as chat shows go, I choose yours over the rest on any given day of the week and twice on Sunday. ;-)

August 2022,..........Love these interviews,.....I didn't start listening to any of these until a few weeks ago. The pandemic of 2020 -2021, destroyed my world. Stores are still not fully open, the ones that are,....have shortened hours,....ones that were 24 hours open,.....do not exist. Even bars aren't fully open, as much as they used to be. I gave up drinking,...years ago, anyway. I'm an old fart and should probably be at home more than I used to be. All the coffee house/bistros I used to frequent are closed by 6pm. It feels like we went back to the 1950s,.....when stores closed at 5, and there wasn't anything to do but go to sleep. For the last 3 years, the Internet and You Tube, saved me from going completely insane.

Wow! You guys brought back so many memories like The Old Waldorf which was a Bill Graham venue that famously became, The Punch Line. Holy City Zoo, Cobbs Comedy Club and The Hungry i were landmark venues for some of the greatest comedians. Amazing. Does anyone remember Alex Bennett?

Thank God, Dana went to the cardiologist and took care of the artery issue. Marin General Hospital is well rated but Cedar Sinai is stellar!. Unbelievable they missed his LAD during his surgery! I am a Sonoma County/Marin native and have encountered many physicians in the area. Thank goodness, his heart muscle was in great shape to begin!

Really enjoyed this, Norm Macdonald has a good Dana Carvey interview aswell.

I spent a lot of time at the old Waldorf. I used to do lights with the girl that worked there Leslie. I remember those dressing rooms and a lot of famous people going in and out of them. It was one of the few clubs where you got to play and get a dinner ticket. Those were great times.

Last time I remember seeing him on SNL was probably back in.. 2002? I recall him & Will Ferrell and someone else doing some President sketch. Would be most excellent for him to host again, I wouldn't care if he has nothing to promote- just get 'em on!

Great interview, HUGE fan of Dana Carvey but for the longest time growing up I thought he was the same guy who played the judge on Night Court. I know, I know, white people don't all look alike but I swear I thought it was him.

I see what you mean. Carvey does look like Harry Anderson but if he stood behind him, no-one would know he was there. Night Court probably had the tallest cast in TV history. They had to modify the set to light Bull properly because he was 6' 8" and the rest of the guys were all about 6' 4". And Roz was almost 6'! Now you can win the next TV trivia contest. ;o)
