It make me sick every time I think about it. I genuinely thought that he had legitimate potential to be household name not just in battle rap but in rap period. It’s been a honour to watch him grow as a rapper.

RIP to the battle rap GOAT. I met him on the street in Halifax one day and he stopped and talked with me for like 10 minutes. I went into it thinking I was probably going to be an annoying fan, and left feeling pretty damn great.

Similar experience to me when I bumped into him in Ottawa while he was staying here. Such a humble and genuine guy, despite knowing I was a fan and enjoyed his work, he shifted the convo, asked about me, my life and situation. Went away appreciating him all the more. Tragic loss for the battle rap and Halifax community on top of his family. Rip

This was an amazing battle. Hollohan said “I’d throw you to my wolves but you’d probably come back pregnant.” That was amazing.

Long live Pat Stay, salute to KOTD, Dizaster and Hollohan for making such a monumental surprise battle happen. It's great to see a dream match with roots dating back over a decade finally take place, and all in a great tribute to the icon himself, Pat Stay!

For real. Diz to me is Michael Jordan. I definitely wanted him to win and if we talking display of ability alone he outclasses Hollohan but I gotta give it to Hollohan he won this fr. You can see that he grew up with Pat swapping bars and it was cool to see the similarities. Also he had a lot more wicked angles than Diz in this battle. Diz talked about his leg for like half his round & while it was amazing as always it felt like it was lacking something. Hollohan’s round had everything. Bars, delivery, comedy, and real passion & meaning. Hard to fuck with that.

Pat Stay w/o question was EASILY one of the most charismatic artist EVER. So missed😢

This made me cry man but was really nice for the memory of pat, he was the fucking legend of battle rap and his comedy and flow can never be emulated.

Man it's crazy I was a teen when these guys where in their prime and now I'm coming up on 30 man and it feels all so strange. Never once did I think Pat would go out like that man, it's honestly some real shit to see everyone come together for Pat and his family like this. KOTD and Battle Rap ain't ever really going to feel the same after this. Ngl, I was out the loop for a min but the news of Pat's' passing brought me back and made me feel like a kid again binging battles and just being mesmorized by the scene. I digress, but real talk Rest in Paradise to the Succa Free Boss.

You can totally see the passion and love and emotions seeping through everyones souls, Hollohan almost burst out into tears I love it, made my eyes water. What a sendoff - RIP Pat.

What an amazing intro. Very well done. They both did their thing. Dizaster is the better battler but Hollohan still had his good lines in there. I think on a track or over a beat in a freestyler cypher, with battling out of the equation, Hollohan is a whole other monster and better in that regard imo. This battle was great to see. I’ve been watching KOTD since 2008 and remember when Hollohan first came on the scene in Toronto, and then Pat Stay. Dizaster in grindtime. I watched the WRC days with Dizaster, organik, lush and them. This was a battle the older fans wanted to see way back in the day because of the style similarities and rivalry. It was great to finally see it. Pat Stay would be proud
