Koshi chimes are popular for sound meditation, yoga classes and sound healing. They provide a warm, rich ambience and are available in four scales associated with the four elements (wind, fire, water, earth). They sound beautiful individually or together. The chimes can be hung and played by the wind or held by hand via the attached string and metal ring.
The koshi chimes are hand-crafted in France. Eight metal bars of different lengths are fastened with silver at the sound board (bamboo) on the inside of the instrument.
Models (color is denoted on the body of each instrument in the “o” of the Koshi logo):
Ignis (Fire), red: G, B, D, G, B, D, G, A
Terra (Earth), green: G, C, E, F, G, C, E, G
Aqua (Water), blue: A, D, F, G, A, D, F, A
Aria (Air), yellow: A, C, E, A, B, C, E, B
Which two scales sound good together? The short answer is that they all work well with each other. The designers of the koshi chime clearly designed these instruments so they can be played together in any combination. In this video we demonstrate every combination of 2 Koshi Chimes.

Thank you! I cannot afford all of them but this helped me pick the one I will purchase. The air :) Thank you! Also - have you found others with similar quality but not so expensive? Beautiful but quite the investment.

Hi! I just purchased my first Koshi chims, water and air, so excited to receive them. Thanks so much for this great video. Could I ask what microphines and what sound equipment you used to record this, the sound is really lovely and clear, especially with my headphones :0) Big Thanks Chris

This was either recorded with a pair of rode nt5 mics or a single deity S Mic 2s. I honestly don’t remember but either of those set ups will yield a very nice sound.

Lovely...wonderful hour all 4 would sound d in a breeze
I started laughing when I heard the earth one! wow didnt see that coming
Do you have a fix for making the sail catch more wind? Takes nearly a 30mph wind on my large porch for it to make a decent amount of sound. Thanks.
These are beautiful! I’m working on guiding meditations and would love to incorporate sound baths too. Do you think it’s required to be certified in sound bath training or no?
@didgeproject
2 жыл бұрын
Certification is not needed, but it is important to have real training with an expert who has experience doing work with sound in this way
Choon! !
Personally prefer the earth and water together. Which is interesting as my astrology makeup is slightly more those two than the other two.
So lovely! I think they are nicest when they are played by themselves, after each other rather than together...just my personal opinion 😀...you are referring to some kind of kalimba that goes well with them, I can't really understand what you are saying...what is the name of it please?
@didgeproject

When I first saw a Koshi, it was outside in a garden, hanging on a tree. I don't know how long it hanged there. It looked like a very old wood but the sound was charming. I investigated it for a long time, then saw the brand on it, yay!
I'm spoiled, i suppose. I have a much larger wind chime that has a much more resonant and sustained tone. These sound more like a toy than a meditation chime. There are much better choices than this.

In your opinion
Just be careful with the woo aspect. One person's "healing" melodies are another one's sickness melodies... I love wind chimes myself, but there are those out there who absolutely loathe them, so don't inflict them on the entire neighborhood. ^^;
