That’s because land in Texas doesn’t cost as much as in Seoul. It’s more comparable to New York.

Jennie's place is more like a homie vibe for me.

A big house doesn't mean that they space is never used. I'd too like a house where I can walk around and relax rather than going out all the time. And the rooms can be music rooms, dance rooms or even for their future families. As whether it's a bad investment or not many idols hire financial consultants who help them make decisions which benefit them and also some idols invest in the idol company(taeyang-bigbang).

That's true. Most artists or sports players have a wealth management advisor. Many idols have previously stated that their parents manage their money but it seems reasonable for them to hire an external advisor once they get old.

I think you would get more bang for your buck there. If you’ve seen some of those properties you can still get a decent backyard in those fancy zip codes.

I live in a big house and feel so uncomfortable being alone at night. These apartments are way more spacious than mine, so i'd probably die from anxiety there lol. Though i like Jennie's place the most, it looks pretty cozy to me.

It will never happen; but, if I were ever able to visit S. Korea, there are two people that I would really like to have a cup of coffee with. One of those is ChaCha and the other is the MC of Peach. Both just seem to have great personalities and would seem to be fun to talk with.

These prices are quite reasonable if we compare them to how celebrities in other parts of world live, I don’t feel that they are outrageous (considering they are celebrities and their houses are quite small compared to others celebrities around the world.

That is outrageous. Its Seoul korea. There is no space. ... 🤦🏾. Thats why most housing are in build like an tall apartment building. korea is a smaller country. For example if a big mansion in california cost 100million usd. That same size in korea would cost 5x that. You can’t expect tokyo japan or even korea to have a big mansion like american celebrity in their most populated city. My house in texas is bigger than the celebrity houses of big names like jennie , but texas housing is way way cheaper than seoul korea. My house cost only 350k usd but bigger than theirs. Different geographic location , different market pricing...

The US is a lot cheaper on average than here in NZ, + the US has a considerably higher average salary and almost certainly lower living costs. I dare say a number of places in the US are extremely affordable, relatively few are here.

@@joshualee8151No, it's about 15% smaller than NY state, while NY is about 20% smaller than Wisconsin, not that any of it means much. The USA just covers a very large area, numerous countries are a similar size or smaller than Korea - Korea is basically smack in the middle in terms of land area. Japan is just over 3x the size of Korea, but it also has 2.5x the population, so not much difference.

Honestly arent these all luxury apartments? So that means if they were busy stomping around or loud, they'll have neighbors complaining. I honestly would just prefer a home like Hyori's. She literally has a HOUSE and all the pets to keep her lively in the backyard and can play loud music whenever she wants to. There's also fresh air and being close to the sea. I think some celebrities are so enticed by this rich city life but I can only imagine it being so lonely even if you do live with your husband or wife. You'll have to search for them from room to room.

But in those houses, thieves and journalists can easily get in and there are security problems..while there are very few such problems in the apartment, and there may be only one unit on each floor, so it does not cause noise.

Luxury apartments seem highly likely to have well sound insulated floors & walls. Inevitably some people *have* to live in cities &/or apartments to be practical for their work, or simply prefer it, it doesn't inherently mean they are "enticed by this rich city life". I don't really see how living in a city should be lonelier than living rurally. Some of these supposed homes are quite likely false anyway, it's common for celebrities to either intentionally show a completely different place, or for others to invent these stories. "Cribs" was infamous for celebrities briefly renting much fancier properties than their own.

Celebrities may earn a lot, however, a vast majority of them could be wasting so much money on unnecessary things and bad habits. Anyway, it’s just my opinion. There may be popular figures who are smart enough when it comes to handling their finances. Riches are just temporary. One day you’ll end up losing everything and it’d be difficult to go back to how things were.

i know what you mean, but riches are temporary for those who only waste, a lot of idols in korea invest their money, bts for example own some apartments in korea so they earn a lot of money renting or selling, koreans artists do good on investments it's really difficult find an artist who lost their wealth even if they're not at the top of popularity they still rich! and for example, taemin, he's working for 14 years with non stop, he's clearly millionaire at this point and even tho his on hiatus bc of the military service, he still earning a lot of money just with his old work

The price of land in Seoul or even in south korea in general is expensive because of the limited land. They can buy and build bigger houses with same amount of money in other countries if they choose to..but the fact that they can throw away cash for homes which u said are 'normal' in size speaks of how much spare change they have.

Well - They ASKED that much for it - but it ended up selling for $141 million in auction. The most expensive private home is in Mumbai, India - Antilia. It is 400,000 sq. foot 27 story skyscraper (but the ceilings on each floor are so high that it's really closer to 40 stories - 568 feet tall) with an estimated value of near $2 billion USD. 168-car garage, 9 elevators, 50-seat movie theater. Let's just say no one needs a home this size, no matter how rich you are, esp. in a country like India.

@@DoubleMonoLR thats present in any country but because their country is small its expensive life is much more easier in india...even higher income is nothing be proud of in other countries because theres imbalance in spendings and earnings things get expensive

Some people like space. Mind u most of these idols would want a family too so it's for their children etc as well. Also some artists tend to have separate rooms to make music or so. There could be many reasons as to why they would buy apartments with many rooms.

You also have to realize that many of these celebs buy places that have airtight security too. A basic home especially in a small country like SK may not be ideal.

Yep but seoul doesn’t have the land mass for it so even a small apartment can cost the same price as a super big house in america

How 'crazy', just like NY city is vastly more expensive... No doubt also just like rural Korea is also vastly cheaper.
