A lot of Koreans know that with Hip Hop and R&B. Especially because of YG entertainment who has done it so well for so long.

Half of today’s Kpop music is literally black American hip-hop/R&B with korean lyrics. This guy is smart to know how much of korean pop culture that is borrowed from black American.

The guy with the glass got it right lol this style was adapted in korea with YG, JYP and more usher is a trendsetter 😎😎

Usher has influenced so many artists around the world! He is a living legend! He is also Justin Beiber's mentor. Usher is one of Jimin from BTS favorite artists and BTS gave Usher a shout out in their song Butter. Usher is currently doing a huge residency show in Las Vegas and he may be working on a new album as well. Usher is a superstar and a legend!

It's so interesting that he mentioned that African-American music is the inspiration for the K-Pop scene, as a person who grew up listening to this music I took this knowledge for granted. I'm about Usher's age, and been a fan from day one. I'm also die hard Michael Jackson fan. I see all of the afro American influences in KPop. I never even imagined they might be unaware and consider this an original art form.

Monica, the "fan" he invited on stage is actually a phenomenal R&B singer herself. They actually did a song collaboration (Slow Jam) back in the late 90s.

There was a time in the early to mid-2000s when artists from the U.S. came to promote their singles in Korea or clothing lines (Beyoncé, Amerie, Usher) hence random one-off performances like this. U.S. artists promote waaaay differently than kpop idols.

KPop artists work like slaves and are treated horribly I’ve read. A lot of them are so much in debt they don’t make anything near what Black artists make. 😂

Now I want to listen to Usher🤗. Some people feel a way about the way the world has adopted so much of black culture especially HipHop and R&B music. It was refreshing to here the references and acknowledgement by Korean people that African American culture has influenced their's in such a massive way. Also the red subtitles were hard to read😁

I still remember my daddy playing BET in the morning while we got ready for school and seeing Usher’s MV’s playing. I absolutely loved him and thought he was the finest thing on Earth 😂💀 Monica is another amazing artist that deserves her roses while she’s still here. She was so young when she got started in the music industry and ppl couldn’t believe she was a baby with a voice as powerful as hers.

Usher, Michael Jackson, Chris Brown and lots of other black R&B artists is where the likes of Rain and others copied style to make them who they are today. This is why I can’t understand how some Korean can be racist and discriminate against Black people and black culture

Usher is also very much influenced by artist before him so in a sense we are all sharing this wonderful culture and yes, he is amazing as well! My first ever album was his 8701, singing to his songs before I could speak English. Last month, I had the chance to go to Usher's show here in Las Vegas and let me tell you, It was a blast and I was not sitting at all, dancing and it was as if I met all my bestfriends in one room. His performance was phenomenal, highly recommend seeing his live performances.
