I want to correct something as a Turk. We don't eat just one Lokum a day, we can have as many as we prefer. For instance i usually eat two or three pieces (it might change depending on the size of the Lokum because there are various kind of Lokums) with my coffee, Lokum goes well especially with Turkish coffee! Overall i enjoyed their reactions a lot, i'm glad that they liked our foods. The ones on the table are also among my favorites! Thanks for this content, greetings from Turkiye!

When the young guy ate simit with lokum he was really funny, but in Romania we use rahat/lokum in various desserts, including in a type of sweetbread (cozonac cu rahat). My favourites are tiny rolls of pastry filled with a piece of fruit lokum (cornulețe cu rahat).

I love Turkish food. I always say that it’s best to have it at Turkey, if you have the opportunity to visit the country, because elsewhere the food is used to be overpriced, lacking variety (referring to lokum flavours here) and the quality may not match the price (as it’s true with any food outside of its representative country) Consider doing an episode of Koreans trying Greek food, such as (savoury) spanakopita, tyropita, souvlaki and (sweet) mpougatsa, galaktompoureko, sweet spoon, vanilla submarine.

Every year, I go to Turkey for machine maintenance at the Hyundai factory, which lasts one and a half months a year. Simit, which we eat with tea for breakfast, and another type of bagel called acma are among the foods I miss the most when I return to my country 🙂 You should eat the real home cooking of the Turks.

I don't like puffy simits. The ones sold in bakeries are puffy, but the bagels sold in bakeries are thinner and harder. I bought a simit in Ankara and it wasn't fluffy and it was crunchy. Simit with sourdough that don't rise too much are better. They sell sesameless ones in Safranbolu. Long story short, crispy bagels that are not too fluffy are better.

You usually treat your guests with artisanal lokum on religious or national holidays, you almost always pick one lokum when they offer lokum to you. Other than holidays, people living in big cities don't really eat them because of chocolate consumption dominance over the world. But in some rural areas, people still eat regular lokum everyday (this is cheaper but i believe it is even tastier) sandwiched between biscuits. It is called kistirma (to squeeze, to jam) because you have to squeeze to fill the gap with that squashed lokum between two slices of biscuits. It is truly an exotic taste but actually very simple to make.

Im happy she share some turkish food with them. But Im a little sad she didnt let them taste the real stuff. Turkish cuisine is soo tasty and delicious and has to offer a lot of variety. This is quite basic and a bit plain imho
