I remember when this song was released. I was young and carefree back then. I am an old fart now, but still love it. Takes me right back to my youth before I had any aches and pains. This song eases my pains. Timeless classic.

Diffferent approaches to me. But I did favour Kool and the Gang simply because their tunes got me moving on the dance floor much more and I preferred their tunes. EWF had a greater appeal globally and engendered the same response: you could not resist the groove. Cheers..

I was a bartender in a disco in the early 80s and they let me DJ some. I opened with this song some nights and people would flock to the dance floor. Looked like a stampede.

No AUTOTUNES!!! Look a trombone, sax, a band and an amazing sound! I’m 40+, too old to still have a crush on JT.

We live in the past. No decent music bands like Kool and the Gang exist now. Not anything even close.

Back when Musicians never cussed in their songs, and the music was meaningful. I’m glad that i grew up listening to Oldies instead of the bs today, the music today is trash. Oldies is all my old man ever listened to, even till this day he bumps all these old skool jams, lol. Brings back good memories, and i’m 28 now.

so many memories, real music. I had the opportunity to go to a Kool and the Gang concert in the 1990s. What an evening, never seen such an atmosphere. This is lacking these days.

Absolutely great memory of this record in 81'/82', remembering it in one of the fantastic disco clubs that I used to go to in the late 70's/early 80's , and the great times I had along with my friends meeting many attractive and smartly dressed girls on and off the dance floor. The disco scene in the mid 70's to early 80's was glorious.

My boy JT does his thang! Homeboy just jumped on this joint with the Debarge falsetto!! This particular album "Something Special" showcased his range a ton especially with "Take My Heart (you can have it).

Brings tears watching and listening. Was in my early teens. Dad was expat, took us to Enugu, Nigeria. My boys George, Andy and Noel, where y'all at? We grooved to Ronnie Bell, JT and the gang. We grooved to the Whispers, Rafael Cameron, Fatback Band, Lionel, can't forget Cameo. Had my best teenage years back at the mother continent.

I am 27 years old and I never tire of saying that I was born in the wrong year and at the wrong time.

When music was music. 🕺❤😍. Bring back the good old days.

27th July 2022. I grew up on this music, even owned a cassette tape of it but don't recall ever having seen this video. Always loved Steppin' Out but found it to be quite underrated, like many other great songs on the album.

This song does not get the air time it deserves. It's such an underrated song, the vocals and groove are absolutely epic!! This is real music!! I was born in 1980 yet i will gladly keep the 70's vibe going in my soul for the rest of my days. I do not like where music has gone. Its so inharmonious and empty.

Martin Platt My late Dad had most of those in his collection Martin and more. He was very much a soulful music man. He loved Motown, soft rock and the r&b funk era etc. I literally grew up with this music. Real music by real talented artists who loved their craft.

FANTASTIC...WHAT A GREAT GROUP KOOL AND THE GANG WHERE .WITH JAMES T TAYLOR AS THE LEAD SINGER...WHEN HE LEFT .....THEY WHERE NOT THE SAME.....JAMES T TAYLOR....WAS KOOL .AND THE GANG.........WITH A GREAT VOICE...RIGHT ON....THANKS MATE FOR BRINGING ME SO MUCH JOY..WITH YOUR SINGING....AND GREAT MOVES....AMEN.....T.C.B.....

It amazes me how some people these days lose their minds when some current dribble blast a note or two in falsetto. JT sings the entire song in FALSETTO people and the deepness of the "just you and me baby" in falsetto is outrageous and if you don't believe me try and sing it. This along with don't stop 'til you get enough, remain the finest examples of falsetto I've ever heard and not at all over done (unlike nowadays) ... JT you are one hell of a singer and your falsetto may just be the best I've ever heard, I definitely put you up there with the best singers I've EVER heard ... how many more times can I say FALSETTO :-)

oh yeah ... these were the days ... and to proove the legitimacy of old school music; they stand the test of time ... PERIOD!!

Heard this on a throwback set yesterday, I predict i'm gonna play it back to back for many days!

Michael Jackson in concert tops Kool and the Gang and I've seen both in concert. Both were awesome, but MJ was the bomb, he sold out stadiums, arenas were to small and not big enough for his mega superstar status.
