In this clip, Kool G discusses his list of the greatest rappers of all time as he and Vlad go back and forth as to why Biggie and Pac were left off the list. @Deleted Link Too many people into the matrix or machine instead of measuring it on lyrics content rhyme prose syntax the range of topics .Instead it's all commercial success I mean this guy was consistent and was on tracks with people Nas was scared to get own with like Canibus and Half-a-mill even in an interview Large Amount had AZ no.1 Nas 2 Jay-Z@3 and Styles&Kiss@4&5 so that in itself speaks volumes. So if he in your top3 you know your shit kid!

I honestly don't understand how dudes can call themselves men and sweat Tupac the way they do. No man is beyond criticism; I get it he is the biggest icon of the ninties by FAR; bigger than Kurt Cobain or anyone else. He didn't have BARS though; he didn't spit hot 16s, he just didn't. He was passionate and charismatic and he wrote some powerful songs that hit you in the heart. I'm 37 Tupac was not in my top 10 back then or now. I loved Biggie back then but even at 15-16 I clowned him for letting Pac say all that stuff and Biggie dissing Faith (Brooklyn's Finest) instead of Tupac. A man should never sweat another man I don't care who it is.

You're RIGHT. I'm 41 and was like "meh" back then. Ma$e said "...write hot shit, that make niggas say 'REWIND THAT!'" That's what Tupac AND Biggie were missing. They had hot lines and songs that people remember, but that "rewind factor" is what both their music lacked. Neither said nothing serious, and I've said this since '96... That's when Jay-Z came out and Nas' second album was popping. Biggie AND Tupac sucked.

seems like Kool G got transformed into Scarface in mafioso thing, into Notorious and Big Pun in harcdore/rnb thing - he actually influenced the best rappers of the 90s. how come so few people know/dig Kool G? (talkin' bout here in Russia - since 90's every1's crazy 'bout Public enemy, naughty by nature, onyx, etc, Kool G Rap got skipped somehow. May be it's a part of stayin' a true underground hardcore rapper?))

subjectively it's not that hard to tell who's the best rapper - the best rapper of all time is the Kool Genius of Rap, idk who'd have gotten more balls and authority to claim this than Big Pun. Kool G is the bass, it's the foundation of the best rhyme techniques, it's the spring that you taste when you're young and fresh and that you learn to really appreciate as you grow older. Kool G Rap is the teacher who brings you up and watches you grow, from within your heart, because ever since you get that taste, this flow of rhymes becomes a part of you. Thank you, G Rap, for your beautiful music. Cheers from Russia L & P
