Love this movie! Its a great prequel to the Monster Verse. I saw this with my parents in the theater and we loved it! This was the first and only MonsterVerse film to be nominated for an Oscar: Best Visual Effects.

Fun fact: Toby Kebbell, the actor who plays Jack Chapman, also did the motion capture for Kong!

Somewhat true. Kebbell mainly helped with facial expressions. The bulk of Kong’s movements and actions were done by Terry Notary, who worked alongside Toby in the modern Planet of the Apes series (Kebbell was Koba, Notary was Rocket)

I’m not familiar with the Kongverse, I’ve only seen this one and the 2005 film. I love the effects and the star studded cast of this one so it’s a favorite. Thanks for watching!

A "click" is a kilometer- a little over half a mile. Hiddleston's character is British, so he's using metric. This is based on modern use though, so maybe they meant a click in terms of how far their radar will go ever time the signal is sent out. If you're on a boat for instance, every "ping" might have been a "click". and there's an effective use area associated with that. Maybe they're one and the same honestly (a ping could have had a 1 km use area in the 60s)

You are correct, this is better than Godzilla.

There’s was a King Kong movie released back in 2005. That’s the one where Kong basically falls in love. Jack Black, Naomi Watts, and Adrien Brody are the leads. Solid movie, great effects, and it was a critical and financial success winning 3 Oscars.

The Movie suffers from the same problems as the Hobbit movies. The Action scenes feel like scripted Video game Cutscenes without any tension. The Blue Screen looks really bad. You can see that the Characters arent there... The CGI in general looks really bad at times. The OG King King movie is still the best

Jackson is not the bad guy here. He's lost his men and wants payback. Besides that big guy kept them in the dark about Kong and the true purpose for the mission.

BS, he's the bad guy. It was his stupid idea to take "his men" on the mission, so it's his OWN FAULT. And Jackson's stupid-ass REFUSED to quit the military despite being a hotheaded, trigger-happy dipshit. He's to blame for HIS MEN GETTING KILLED, if someone else was in charge of "his men", they would've had the BRAINS to ask questions BEFORE THE MISSION. They don't call Military Intelligence an OXYMORON for nothing.

Clicks are miles in military speak its like their slang, if you will. So he said 2 clicks, that's like saying 2 miles

There are many movies where Samuel Jackson is the Bad guy. Do your research.

In a lot of ways, Kong is the Main Protagonist of the Monsterverse. Godzilla is the Main Hero, but much of the story is through Kong's eyes.

I agree. This movie is better than Godzilla 2014. G 2014 was the weakest from the MonsterVerse, cause the Characters were extremly bland and forgetable. It didnt help that they always cut away when Godzilla was on screen. I cant wait for the KOTM reaction. From all MonsterVerse movies, this one feels the most like a classic Godzilla movie.

Nothing can challenge the original king kong 1 and 2. Watching Sarah Connor replacing Kong's heart in the theater in 80' was traumatising
