I think you're too focused on sending a trap when the card says "Altergeist card". You can send any altergeist monster to special off of the new tuner, in order to ensure another name is in rotation that you were missing.

You send the new trap to summon the Mario you add off of Hexstia (or that you just naturally opened)

The tuner prevents you from activating the effect of the summoned monster that turn, and if you just need a body, well, you already have the perynetrator that just triggered. The only real use case for sending a monster is to send exactly a meluseek so that you can summon it back with malwisp, send it again, and get its grave effect… but that’s a very narrow edge case that probably does not really help when evaluating the power of the card.

technically yes, but in sequence no, brining out perinetrator from deck requires multifaker and by then you already used malwisp. if you open perinetrator you want to send the trap for an extra summon because you won't have enough bodies on the field to do the combo. as for bringing monsters for Malwisp there is only two with GY effects, Meluseek and Silquitos, of the two, cheating a meluseek would be best pick for a draw, since Silquitos requires set up. but it is something you can already do with multifaker so... there is no need for it. idk, maybe with more support it might work, but as it stands, perynetrator is such a slow and cluncky card that is not worth it. if it could special summon itself to the field, that would have been a good extender. but as it is, it's mostly a brick.

thrue. howeven in a turn 1 senario, sending the trap would be best, sinds you can than summon meluseek to combo off from. with a link 1 altergeist you can than go into hextia without a 3th altergeist summon. wich will also make a link 4 altergeist easy sinds you can than add the tuner with him summoning either one of them. from what i am seeing you want to play the trap 2 times. and trator 3 times, but without a link 1 altergeist, getting hextia will require 1 more step. wile the cards now are good, there are still cards missing to make the deck better. and all altergeist monsters grave effects only work when send from the field. not just send to grave. therefore the only card you want to send on your first summon, is the trap. only later in the game do you want to send other cards. if they want to push altergeist into combo/controle, altergeist will require a link 1. or a link 2 with simulair effect to hextia, but only requireing 1 altergeist monster. with simulair effect, i only meant grave effect. as that will be an easy protocall and manufestation on turn 1. tbh, altergeist only has 3 good traps, and 1 isn't a altergeist card. with the new trap, that will bring that count up to 4. my awnser was only based on turn 1, altergeist is a controle deck, and controle needs to addept to the situation outside of turn 1. therfore the only consitand awnser can be given from a turn 1 senario. sorry for the confusion and the long awnser. hope you read it to the end.

I just realized, Hexstia's negation effect isn't once per turn. So we can double negate opponent using Dragvirion
I was honestly surprised that Altergeists didn't get a new link 1. I mean, the new level 1 is basically SCREAMING "make a link 1 with this, send the new trap, normal summon marionetter, set a trap from deck, make hecstia with Link 1+Marionetter, possibly do more depending on hand." I'm genuinely baffled that Altergeists still don't have an in-archetype way to go into their best link monster turn 1 without needing to draw the 1 of Pookuery. Feels super weird.

@@TheOnlyBootlegger not true, in the slightest. People would play even something like this just to be able to go melu into search pookuery into make hecstia turn 1. Altergeist Poopoo Kaka Link 1, 0 ATK, up arrow. Banish this from GY during any player's turn, target an Altergeist card you control. It can't be desotroyed by your opponent's card effects this turn. That's it, that's the effect. All the Link 1 needs to be is an easy bridge to Hecstia starting from a hand that already has value like Multifaker/Pookuery. The new tuner would also very much work with this. The effect could be a functional Hinotama reprint and it'd still see play simply because hec searches the whole archetype.

@@TheOnlyBootlegger Right now people run multiple generic link 1s in altergeist because having a link 1 is just that important to the deck. If there was an altergeist link 1 that was a 0/0 vanilla, it would still see play because you'd be able to open up so many turn one plays. Remember, all the geist links require you to use 100% geist names, and multifaker is a full turn archetype lock.

Not correct, marionetter + faker/pookuery/meluseek gets you to the link 4 + hexstia + faker in hand and 2 altergeist traps, you just need to play a single copy of haunted rock

@@TheOnlyBootlegger why search it when you could have "place it face-up in your S/T zone directly from deck" ? Not Ash-able, immediately accesible, making Imperm a waste. If they were a loli archetype, i would bet they would release it and even more broken like "Set 1 Spoofing directly from the deck, then if you control 1 Altergeist monster you can activate it the turn it is set."

I kinda want to learn Altergeist since they seem like a fun deck with a cool theme. They're ghost viruses that hack your opponent and their names are even puns! (I.e Altergeist Spoofing is literally means Altergeist Hacking and the new card Malwhisp is a pun on Malware and Will-o-Whisp!)

I'm so happy to see you covering this, your deck profiles and discussion content are what got me back interested in ygo years ago and Altergeist has become one of my favorite decks :)

After seeing 2 people read these in other videos THIS is the video I've been waiting for. Altergeist is also one of my favorite archetypes 💙

I've seen crazy combos with the new cards on lithiums and Paks channel. Def not 2023 ygo top tier but I think Konami gave the deck an interesting twist, kinda almost transformed it from a control deck to a combo one, and I'm all here for it. The deck has some serious missplay possibilities though, depending what monster u summon with malwisp, to not go to faker too early possitioning your hextias etc. But it looks rewarding if u can pull everything off, especially if u let's say save your double summon for Marionetter, her normal summon effect is not once per turn

i really, really hope that Animation Chronicles has more support for Altergeist and that they aren't afraid of making it good. i have been doomposting since this support's reveal, but let's inhale the last bit of hopium in the tank.

if they gave altergeist a link 1. than the new trap and lvl 1 monster would be 300% better. i agree with the new support being good, but not inof atm. 1 link 1, and the new cards skyrocket in usesige. the new trap triggers multifaker, while in grave. as the trap activation doesn't have to be on field. right now with a 3 card combo. you'll end on linkuriboh, new link 4, kunquery, protocall and manufestation. having a link 1 with a spell/trap search effect. having a spell that searches any lvl 4 or lower altergeist monster, you can consitantly end like that. boosting altergeist even more. would this be inof to push a tier 2 deck, i think not. wile altergeist was a strong turn 1, it still keeps a weaker turn 2. and i don't think this will change unless all core altergeist get a remaster version of themself, but that is asking for to mutch.
Link-1 is such a broken concept that it can (and does) fix literally any archetype lol

@@LLewliet-pz6ve Marshmallon has better battle effect, S-Force field spell only once per turn and need to be in same column, or you need both Nightchaser & Chiyomaru and also 3 other S-force monsters on the field just to have basic battle protection like Marshmallon.

Well I just tried out the new Altergeist support, and I have to say Malwisp is sooooo good. It raises the consistency so much, a lot less dead hands and it's such a good card to search for a free summon. If you search Malwisp on your opponent's turn, you can set up Silquitous for an easy bounce.
Missed opportunity to make a link 1 that searches Personal Spoofing. Also Multifaker was recently put to three in master duel, after tear gets powered down a little I can see Altergeist becoming more popular.
I always thought it was called "spoofeen" because of the way you pronounced it lol

I’m curious to know what you think of Joshua Schmidt’s opinion of the these new cards. He seemed pretty down on them. Saying they’re mediocre at best. The link 4 is pointless because if Altergeist are in a position to make a link 4 then they’ve already won (he was basically saying that adminia is a win-more card, not something that actually helps them). The new level 1 is just worse meluseek and there’s no point in playing it because there’s nothing good to send. The tuner is bad because it doesn’t allow the effect of the monster it summons And the trap is all round underwhelming.

They are all fair points if you compare them with cards released in PoTe or the current meta. - The new Link is a great boss monster but geist as a deck wasn't a deck that could easily spam monsters to the field, so you get access to it only if you go uninterrupted or are already winning. - The new lvl1 is an Armageddon Knight for geist but they don't get so much advantage from that action, or else they would run "foolish" cards. - The tuner could have been without that restriction since Mario triggers only on NS, while it can't summon links back, but it helps generate more bodies without Faker's restriction allowing generic plays like Herald. - The new trap is an inferior Manifestation (since that isn't HOPT) while the GY effect is a nice Double Summon for the non-HOPT Mario, but it requires some setup and it isn't good enough for you to say "that card is so great i would play foolish burial goods to send it to the gy asap". Overall it's good support that imo makes the deck stronger than Traptrix or other control decks because it has in-engine counters to backrow mass removal + monster negate. While it can easily use Skill Drain/Secret Village for a stun variant. But for prof players i assume it isn't "unfair enough", like Fountain or Spright engine etc.

Too bad the deck doesn't have a 7 so you could make Baronne de Fleur easily
The pyretrator and the new trap are extenders for the 2 card combo. With them you can end on hextia, the new rank 4, protocol to revive a second hextia, manifestation, and faker in hand. It's a strong combo but time has not been kind to stall so I doubt it will be meta relevant.
Altergeist Pristhon Link 1 Dark Spellcaster Attack 500 Down Requires one Non-Link Altergeist monster. When this card is Link Summoned; you can send one Altergeist Trap card from your deck to your graveyard. During your opponent’s turn; if you special summon an Altergeist monster while this card is in your graveyard, you can banish this card from your graveyard to set one Altergeist trap card from your deck. If your opponent controls more monsters than you, you can activate it this turn. You can only use each effect of Altergeist Pristhon once per turn. Altergeist Bounty Normal Trap Target one Altergeist monster you control and one monster your opponent controls; destroy both monsters then if you destroyed a monster that was special summoned from the extra deck, draw one card. When an Altergeist monster you control is targeted for a card effect or attack while this card is in your graveyard; you can banish this card from your graveyard to activate one Altergeist Trap card from your hand or graveyard except Altergeist Bounty. You can only use one effect of Altergeist Bounty per turn and only once per turn. Altergeist Malfunction Normal Trap When your opponent activates a monster effect while you control an Altergeist Link monster; you can destroy one other Altergeist card you control to negate that effect and if you do destroy that card. If you destroyed an Altergeist Link monster; you can set one of your banished Altergeist Trap cards except Altergeist Malfunction. You can only activate one Altergeist Malfunction per turn. Altergeist Tracker Normal Trap Send one Altergeist card from your deck to your graveyard. You can banish this card and one Altergeist card from your graveyard to set one Altergeist Trap card from your deck. You can only use each effect of Altergeist Tracker once per turn. Edit I probably should mention that these are cards I designed myself. I am a custom card designer who creates the card’s effects. I don’t do the artwork. I am currently working on an archetype based on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I call it Apocalamity. Their spell card lineup are the Omen cards. The deck relies on banishing their cards in groups of three or four depending on the card. You can special summon an Apocalamity monster from your hand by returning four of your banished Omen cards to your graveyard. You can activate the effect of the Apocalamity monster you summoned by shuffling four Omen cards from your graveyard back into your deck. Famine is the only one that requires you to shuffle four different ones as it’s effect is a hand rip. A hard once per turn by the way as I don’t want a hand rip deck. Each Apocalamity has their own domain. Famine is the hand. Death is the graveyard. War is the Field. Conquest is the Extra Deck. Their effects correspond to these different areas. They have no built in protection but all of the Omen cards can easily let you get them back into rotation to summon again. They can a bonus effect if you control all four. Famine let’s you activate an Omen card from your hand during either player’s turn. Death let’s you add an Omen card from your graveyard to your hand. War has yet to be finished. Conquest let’s you banish a card from your opponent’s extra deck when an Omen card is activated. Note that Conquest has another effect that lets you treat banished Extra deck monsters as Omen cards. That way you can use them as cost for the summon of the other Apocalamity monsters. Death can banish all monsters from your opponent’s graveyard and prevents your opponent’s banished monsters from using their effects. War destroys cards on the field. Here is a little quote I came up with for the theme. With every conquest there is war. With every war there is famine. With every famine there is death. These are the omens of the end. The end of our hubris.

Since you are a custom card designer you should learn proper PSCT (using CAPS, ":" instead of ";" for conditions etc). Also, pay attention to the interactions your cards have with other decks or handtraps. Finally I would suggest the OCG format of card text (check ygorg for the translations) in order to not repeat a name in the effect if you change it in the future AND also make it clear. For example: Altergeist Pristhon DARK Spellcaster Link 1 [Down] 500 ATK 1 non-Link "Altergeist" monster You can only Special Summon a monster with this card's name once per turn. You can only apply the 1st and 2nd effects of this card’s name each once per Duel, also you cannot Special Summon monsters, except "Altergeist" monsters, if you activate either of this card's effects for the rest of this Duel. (1) If this card is Special Summoned: You can set 1 "Personal Spoofing" directly from your Deck. It can be activated this turn. (2) If an "Altergeist" monster you control is Tributed: You can banish this card from your GY; Special Summon 1 "Altergeist" Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck. (This is treated as a Synchro Summon.) Altergeist Bounty Trap Card [Continuous] You can only use this card name’s 1st and 2nd effects each once per turn. (1) If this card was Set by the effect of an "Altergeist" card, you can activate it the turn it was Set, by sending 1 "Altergeist" Spell/Trap from your Deck to the GY. (2) You can shuffle this card from your GY into the Deck, then target 1 Spellcaster monster you control and 2 cards your opponent controls; destroy them.

@@babrad Also before I forget… The versions you made don’t actually serve the same purpose as the cards I designed. I designed them to keep things going longer while giving the deck an alternative win condition. It is just a matter of people finding it. Let’s see if people can tell why I chose those effects.

@@babrad I also forgot to mention that Bounty was worded in a weird way because I haven’t developed a card like it before. I will change the wording to this. Destroy two monsters on the field including one Altergeist monster you control then if you destroyed a monster that was special summoned from the extra deck, draw one card.

@@SheruMuko i just wrote some examples in order to clarify my suggestions. "(using CAPS, ":" instead of ";" for conditions etc)" caps are for Attributes ":" for conditions ";" for costs Then i wrote examples of common restrictions like once per turn effects and summons with proper PSCT. I did get the point of that support and even noted that it doesn't take into account other decks/handtraps. Your intial wording just makes the trap lose to Ash if it targets an Extra Deck Monster on activation, then you edited so that Ash can ALWAYS activate against it and always negate it. The rest of that support is either too situational or not strong enough for 2023 (they are comparable to the original BA support). If you want to prolong the duel you can add conditions like in Runicks (skipping BP) or even "your opponent takes no damage" but still allow the deck to be fully functional instead of those situational cards. I locked it for the entire duel to a pure build in order to prevent it from abusing generic support. There is also another clause you might find helpful when you need to balance decks: - You cannot activate cards or effects during the turn you activate this effect, except "Altergeist" cards and effects. We can change the link monster using the above condition: You can only apply the 1st and 2nd effects of this card’s name each once per Duel, also you cannot activate monster effects, except "Altergeist" monster effects, during a Duel you activated either of this card's effects. This restriction is a combination used in Armed Dragon Catapult cannon, that gives you the base for "once per Duel effects" as well as limitation on using handtraps entirely before and after that card. You can even make it for Spell and Traps to force the deck run completely pure. These are examples to use as a base.

@@babrad They didn’t need those restrictions. I actually apply something else to my more powerful archetype that is a bit of a more strict restriction. You cannot activate any cards or effects during the turn you use blank except blank cards. I only do this if a card is strong enough. Most of the time I make stuff with archetypal effects. I made a Cryptic archetype and they all rely on bouncing back to the hand if they are targeted. They do this to activate their own effects and they can proc it themselves. It also works when they are attacked. Then there is my V.A archetype which all have the quick effect to tribute themselves to place a Venom counter on the field and some of them could place them in the hand instead. Mainly Scout Serpent and their less aggressive monsters. That was their gimmick which is placing counters in the hand. Once the card with the counters leaves the hand the counters are removed. They only need to place one counter on that card and the card that has the counter on it will be revealed to both players. Then there is Ultimate Beast which is one of my personal favorites. They have a boss monster for each attribute except divine. Their boss monsters are all powerful and can apply effects similar to cards that were once banned or limited such as Harpie’s Feather Duster and Raigeki. They even have a monster that is a one sided Macro Cosmos. The downside is that they don’t have any way to summon themselves and have to have their field spell on board. Without the field spell they don’t have any protection. Also you can only control one monster. Not just one of each, just one monster. The field spell makes them unable to be destroyed by card effects once per turn and makes them unable to be targeted by spell cards. At the end of the turn, the field spell will destroy any of your set spell or trap cards unless you reveal another copy of it in your hand in which case you can keep one of them. I made it purely for fun. They are based on video game bosses or mythical animals. Bahamut and Ifrit from Final Fantasy make an appearance. Thunder Bird makes an appearance from mythology. Golem from countless places. Leviathan from multiple inspirations as well. Griffon from mythology. The other cards are based around getting the field spell and protecting it. Each boss monster has a stat line of 3000 in both attack and defense. You will only be running one of each.
