It's good to see that Altergeist players are self aware of the suffering they spread.

Always glad to see giest content. Got back into yugioh during the stretch where you near exclusively played giest so this deck holds a special place in my heart

I personally prefer Propsperity to Extravegency. You want to reliably access your Hextia & Link-1s, for plays. More importantly, it is better to pick a select cards from 6 choices, than to get two random draws. When Altergeist are doing good, they generate advantage and control board but they suck without good opening hands. Excavating 6 and picking the Evenly Matched/Multifaker/Spoofing/etc which really adds to your other starting cards is more important than the plus 1. It's like Sekka's Light, in a sense. Yes, it is good for Monster Mash decks but wouldn't you rather just have a ROTA/Foolish card, to add consistency over draw power?

I think extravagance is still better because you rarely atcually use your extra deck, making it pretty much a draw 2 without any restrictions. And to that, more card advantage is always better.

I understand the sentiment but I think the idea is to just play cards you want to see in almost every scenario (hence all the solemns) so a raw draw isn't detrimental. This deck basically has no garnets and even if you get a bunch of monsters there's still plays to be made

@@coolkidsclub9943 that is debatable, if you only monsters and none of them are marionetter and meluseek going first, you are a sitting duck, same goes with only opening traps, you don’t open a spoofing or protocol/manifestation, all you can do is stall and pray for the heart of the cards during your next drawphase.

@@lz9275 set 4 pass still wins games, and if not then you'll almost always have starters by the time your opponent is able to play through your backrow.

I also hated them till I tried them once, then become addicted to them ,though that cost me a friend but that's acceptable trade off

Always remember atergeist players will have at least 3 set judgements/strikes 99,99% of the time

@@rovad55 actually. In my starting hand. I always have 3 strike and 2 judgements.

I actually play Necrovalley on the side instead of village and the one time I got to use it I won just because it messes with so many decks. It basically wins against Tri, Drytron, VW and Prank if you resolve it, pretty insane.

I also found that Skull Meister is a bit better this format so I run 2 Meister and 2 Belle and just gave up on Veiler since I don’t really need it for the Halq combo

I just wish the ultimate rare copy wasn't outdated lol I play Ancient Warrior (Pure) And whenever I play against Gravekeepers (my favorite deck to verse) I don't mind them getting necrovalley on field cuz I don't use my graveyard like that, But I have screwed myself before by activating Macro Cosmos and then not being able to activate my AW monster effects which send to GY to activate so I cut cosmos and prolly run necrovally myself against other decks lol

I main the Villages, so I usually make Moon Maiden turn 1 v Striker so I can keep them under the lock pre-SP (if I have a trap set for the faker in hand)

I run a small altergeist engine with my silent magician/quintet magician deck, gotta say their really good for it in both duel links and in person

Dzeff what do u think about siding different dimension ground, it basically skips a turn of many decks right now

I think I'm finally starting to figure out Altergeists. I have a question Doug - do you think Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare is a good card in Altergeists? I'm struggling to find the last few traps to play in Geists and Trap Hole Nightmare is high on my list, but I'm nervous because it doesn't affect NS monsters, including the new Flundereeze monsters. Outside of the Flunder matchup do you think the deck could play the card, or should I just skip it?

I just played geist over the weekend, other then 1-2 against my 2 tri matchups (it was a 6 round turnament) I found altergeist hunted rock a really good one of to open a combo with turn one hexia or a turn one sil bounce for free.

Thanks to your altergiest deck I became planine on duel nexus so thank you. Ps: I think you are The real version of The King of games.

Most of my friends play Combo or Beatdown deck and they sure hate my Altergeist because they reminds me that every time they can, and I'm still hoping for the new support that is in OCG.

That is a big trading card in the background that could use some sort of frame

I know you didn't ask me, but IDP is not too good in this deck because it goes against faker. Once you get your engine going (plussing off of Faker/Mario every turn), IDP is going to slow you down.

@@elijahtorres9699 So after a trap card, you can get faker out from the hand then SS silq from the deck. As the game progresses you’d balance between getting faker back to the hand and activating another trap card to get faker out. Faker comes out a second time and you should get mario on the 2nd time fakers eff triggers. Silq should bounce mario this time. Then you can normal mario to get another altergeist trap. There’s probably a better way of explaining this but basically you should be triggering faker eff every turn, maybe you can even get meluseek on the second time faker’s eff resolves because then you can get mario in hand on your turn.

Isn't Necrovalley amazing in this meta? I played it in the past in Orcust/Spyral Format and this meta gives of similar vibes

Traps are annoying cuz with just 3 or 4 traps you can put up the same number of interruptions that a combo deck would take 20 mins to put up.

Veiler for imperm or any other good trap like dinomischus, ddg, or some artifacts even he mentioned debunk which is a good choice extrav is more difficult how ever as it provides something no other card besides maybe prosperity provides so thats seems difficult you could play desires but if by any chance you can get extrav play it definitely I mean by not playing the imperm you lose tons of possible imperm faker plays which is hard enough but losing the extrav to is a nail in the coffin

Technically it’s silquitous + manifestation. Normal silquitous, link summon almiraj, set manifestation. Congratulations you have a guaranteed bounce on the opponents turn for the rest of the game

Any cards can be good if you have a good deck it's all in the way you like to play have a nice duel so it time to duel and get your duel on

Having to duel against Ghost Gal and her Altergeists deck so many times in Link Evolution made me hate the deck since it felt like you needed luck to beat it. Also the game ended up crashing due to the AI taking nine years to do a move while using Altergeists so that just makes me hate it even more.

You arguably need luck to beat anything to some extent, opening hands and topdecking are undeniable factors in this game.

Why not ditch the appointer for a powerful one-of like pankratops?

is there a reason not to use one for one? I mean, the only thing I could think is that we have 3 faker so there might be no need, but if it doesn't get ash'ed it seems fairly decent to me at least

I think you answered you're own question here. It's straight up a -1 because of the discard that can get ash'd and turned into a -2, so when you have better options or enough consistency already you rather not play it.

Altergeist, Traptrix, and Lyrilusc are probably my top 3, Plants & Zombies sharing 4th/5th. 2 types of trap deck and an "I ignore all your cards and attack directly 5 times for game" deck, I see no reason why this sparks so much displeasure.

When playing against Altergeit you probably know when you start to lose.

I mean.. Altergeists are like Shadoll Winda in fun circles. Fun for the guy who plays them, absolutely toxic and anti-fun for everybody else.

I wouldnt mind Altergeist if only Hidden Village of the Spellcasters ate a well-deserved ban. It's a searchable one-sided Imperial Order that you can slam immediately without your opponent having a chance to chain a backrow hate quickplay on it.

@@SandroCartoons at least those you can MST (or equivalents) on activation, so they're not THAT bad. I still hate them and every other continous trap with similarly restrictive effects like Summon Limit since they give a MASSIVE advantage to the first player, but at least they have the downside of being mostly dead weight in your hand if you loose the dieroll (the only ones I would ban from this grup are Rivalry of the Warlords and Gozen Match due to the extremely unfair interaction they have with cards like Zombie World, and Harpie's Feather Storm for hopefully obvious reasons). Hidden Village has no such problem, it's the exact same issue with Mystic Mine.

I actually love playing Geist and love playing against Geist... as long as it’s not the mirror, that’s actually horrible

do you play selene just as a easy link3? your deck only have 3 pot spell right, which means most of the time selene wont have enough counter to revive any of your monster
