Interesting since it looks so awful to me that i will literally not even play the new cards. This deck is just traptrix but with 0 upsides and 7 garnets. Just to make this clear. I mean both awful in the sense that i looks about as powerful as ojama and in the sense that it looks about as fun as a darkworld mirror.

There is no need to run Pooky at 3...2 is more than enough, I'd replace one with Kunquery since it does come in handy

Technically there are already combos in Labrynth, since the Cooclock monster lets you activate a trap in the first turn.

I forgot that Marionetters normal summon effect to set from deck is ALSO not once per turn! CRAZY

If personal spoofing had the line “this card is always treated as an altergeist card” the deck would be so much better.

@@DGrayEX Altergeist link 1 with effect: hard once per turn on both: 1) if this card is link summoned you can set a personal spoofing directly from your deck. 2) if you’d send or tribute a card from your hand or field to activate the effect of an altergeist card you can banish this card from your graveyard instead.

Basically the new cards renders a much pure version without much floodgates or other cards. I like the supports

it's good but it's a trap deck so most of it's plays are depending on going first so like most decks going first will make the difference in winning or loosing.

Malwisp is really good, but imagine if it didn't have the restriction to prevent you from activated the effects of the monster you summoned-it would be C R A Z Y for the deck. I wasn't quite sure where this support would lead geists, but it's really nice to see the drastic improvement to the deck.

Archetypes never reach Tier 1 status with the advent of new legacy support, anyways. The old cards are usually too shit (or too fair), to make that happen. Altergeist is not ancient, but let's be real, the power creep has not been kind to old control decks.

the level 3 is exactly what they needed!

Kunq is pretty decent here as well, you can have another monster negate by using Primabanshee and summoning Kunq(altho it is a bit slow)

2:29 Why don't use marionetter combo ? U Can have adminia+ hexstia (+1 in gv) + multifaker (hand) + protocol and manifestation with only marionetter and multifaker in hand

in my opinion, rivalry should leave its place for something else. it is a floodgate but its presence does not allow adminia to steal an opposing monster

Skill Drain! It’s actually interesting in this deck because of Protocol. It effectively becomes one sided.

Small world i think would be amazing in this. Easily bridges all the monsters, triggers the new level 3 and a pook adding itself back to hand after link summoning is free fodder. Could bridge into handtraps as well. Ash, droll etc. New level 1 and reborn trap feel cuttable and kinda winmore so im not too sold on them yet. Saw a second place ocg list with these cards and they ran a kurikara as a one-of probably as a bridge/to search.

They called me crazy for playing Pookuery at 3. They said “he’s a madman!”

Someday, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday Altergeist will get a Link 1 that reads.... "If this card is link summoned; set 1 Personal Spoofing from your deck." And Ai shall call this card Spoofy, & they shall be mai friend for they be Spoofing.

as someone stopped playing last year and never liked combo decks and opted for more midrange/control strategies, seeing even Altergeist become a combo deck encapsulates why 2023 yugioh is hard for me to get back into: every decent deck has a 15 step combo line now! I wanna get back into it cuz the new decks and support are cool but I gotta learn branching combos to play even ALTERGEIST?? 😭

Alterqeist was always supposed to be a link climbing deck since wave 2 of its support. There aren't really combos as such just have to know what the deck can do

@@Latias38 I've never been a huge fan of Floo but I do like Labrynth. It sucks getting absolutely blown away by board breakers tho, evenly and lightning storm are rough. Trap decks biggest weakness

I noticed you play Haunted Rock. I'm personally not a fan of that card since it's a hard minus and the effect is almost never useful. I completely agree with your ratios and think the new support is pretty good overall. I think all they're missing is a Link 1 that sets personal spoofing. Would be even better if it let you activate it on the same turn.

I feel like if they gave them a Spoofing searcher it would either set it or place it face up. I feel like they really don't want to give the deck faker access turn 1 as much as possible.

Haunted rock is used for marionetter 2 card combo, but lithium here doesn't do that combo for some reason, example combo: marionetter set haunted rock, activate it send faker in hand, marionette send haunted rock and reborn faker. 2nd combo is with marionetter + meluseek, it basically goes into a similar endboard of adminia + hexstia and 2 altergeist traps

I think lithium just wanted to avoid cards that would "not work" after activating, secret village requires you to run somewhat "bricks" if you want to run more than 2 card(1 metaverse and 1 village). I do agree tho that secret village would be better than rivalry here because you literally don't fear anything other than backrow removal with the first turn combo.

I started playing the deck. It’s making me frustrated

I just want a link 1 and more traps. (And for god's sake Konami stop making them awful recycling when we have Manifestation already) This support is cool, but it just doesn't feel as much like altergeist. There's barely even any traps anymore in the deck, in the trap deck. If we ever get more support, I want to make the deck more control based, but knowing this game, we're only gonna be playable if we are a combo deck...

Yugioh went from trying to disrupt your opponents turn, to playing on your opponents turn. Idek why we take turns at this point

I think, not making Adminia the new Shaddoll boss monster was a big missed opportunity. It could have helped the deck a lot by having another interruption other than summoning Winda and it could have been faithful to the lore as well. If only...

I have seen 5 videos about this new support and Joshua Schmidt is the only reasonable one. These support cards are absolutely not what this deck needed and dont keep the spirit of what altergeist used to be. Last time i was this disappointed from a new support wave was Twilightsworn...

@@patrickmunneke8348 It was always a deck that did linkplays, but it was clearly never the main focus. The extradeck was basically the finishing blow if you were already in a good position. This new support fully focuses on the link aspect. You are now supposed to go into a bunch of link plays in turn one and the deck feels like a midrange/combo deck.

The game has become too fast recently that only Faker + Sil is not enough to stop them (look at that Kashtira game 2 and see how many interruptions they can play through). If you want control decks to be playable at the moment you have to set up multiple interruptions on turn 1 (just like Traptrix) instead of grinding.

@@bdc129 If a slow gameplan cannot work currently, why is labrynth considered a tier 2 deck? Maybe its just that most controldecks suck and need actual support? 1 silq wouldnt have cut it in 2018 either. 1 silq + 3 traps? Could probably be decent if the deck got more consistancy cards and wouldnt constantly brick, which it does now more than ever because this lithium list is on 7 garnets and a bunch of potential bricks. If you are going to give altergeist support that changes the gameplay this much, you might aswell just make a new archtype out of it. Altergeist needed a more consistant way to get to their pay of. Once they get the ball rolling the deck is still really good, but having to open the multifaker and being forced to play so many monsters that dont do anything really just breaks its neck. Altergeist was weak going second and struggled with drawing to many monsters. This new support fixes neither of these issues. The deck is just as trash as before. Honestly, i would probably not even play the new cards. They are so bricky for so little upside.

​@@JaddasFirst, I don't think Lab is a slow deck, since that deck can set up everything in turn 1 with a good opening hand (usually D-Barrier and Virus) that can stop your opponent from playing Yugioh. Second, most of the game often end on 3-5 turns so as I mention above, if you can't bring out everything asap or you will get OTK'd before you even get to your set up. Third, trap cards are terrible at going second, that's why every trap decks need board breakers like Evenly Matched to clear the board simply because if you don't have them in your hand, you can't play the game. And fourth, I'm a fan of Josh and Lithium, so I understand your opinion, Altergeist need a way to search Spoofing and a Link-1, but going second is still a big problem with any trap decks.
