In countries like Somalia, there is a special tournament thats played during this month called "Koobka Ramadaanka" (The Ramadhan Cup). People are used to it and its no different from other months. Same energy, same minutes played and same commitment.

There are many benefits of fasting (1) it is detoxing the body annually (2) it makes us not just know how poor people feel, but feel how they feel. Some things you have to feel to empathise. This makes us more understanding, humble and charitable (3) makes us understand actually how less the human body needs, this in turn makes us less greedy, requiring less which in turn helps us leave a smaller carbon foot print on the planet. There are more.
