Wenger didn't win the UCL for Arsenal but he won everyone's heart great man.
Best Interview on Talk sport in a while, what a guy
One of the most underrated players in his time. I’m not sure what Wenger’s problem was with Yaya, letting Yaya go has to be up there with Wenger’s worst mistake.
Nobody has brought more to the English game over the past 40 years as Arsenal Wenger. Players like Toure are a typical example. He plucked them out of obscurity and made them elite footballers and entertainers.

It just wasn’t the right time, he’d have left anyway with the lack of playing time given that our midfield was full of world class players at that time. Like who would you have given up in that team to play Yaya if he did sign? Gilberto and Vieira were both monsters in their position, teenage fabregas was on the rise and getting lots of attention.
Kolo comes across as a genuinely humble and likeable sort, deserved all he achieved.

I once saw Kolo on the 390 bus in 2005 whilst he was playing at Arsenal. It blew my mind as a 15 year old.
Listen Carefully, Keown said in that same year, Yaya Toure, Song & Diaby all did trials for CM position at arsenal, a position that was currently held by Patrick Viera 😂, These are all big names casually showing up for trials lol, Wengers scouting at that time was next level, im a chelsea fan btw

Kolo such a legend. Everyone loves him.
Much better player than he is a manager lol. The biggest compliment you can pay Kolo is there was no "Tony Adams" shadow because of him. There was a Patrick Vieira shadow looming over Arsenal for ages, a player that they never managed to truly replace (although a lot of that is due to Diaby's injuries) whereas Tony Adams was more than adequately replaced by Toure as the rock of the defence besides Campbell.

I seen Yaya play at Celtic Park against a Celtic side who progressed at CL level via pure hard work and physical brutality. It is mad to hear Kolo say he was too slight for the Prem because he was an ABSOLUTE UNIT of a guy. Another level huge, TV does no justice.
