Not to forget FFXIV Mod Creators charging money for ripping assets from other games to put in theirs, or other third-party creators for the game not realizing that the world doesn't revolve around what them🗿

FFXIV drama is so unserious but you get absolute gems like this situation, was so glad to be there when it went down

This is why Roleplayers are considered the apex predators of FF14. The lengths they will go to for their RP/ERP is *wild* and seeing the unserious drama they cause is hysterical

The fact that the guys who put up the billboards voluntarily took them down before Squeenix even asked them to was a good move legally, it would go a long way in their defence in court to express remorse and point out they took it down as soon as they became aware it could cause issues. Doesn't make it less illegal but it's the kind of thing that can get you leniency from the court.

These "clubs" are more obsessed on their advertisement than Gil sellers.

I was actually there. I AFKed at the housing district the day before and hung out at the event. It was actually super fun! Also have footage with the DJs and stuff. It was a fun time! 💚

Oh man, this was great. Every Discord I was on that was FFXIV related was talking about it the whole day. It was hilarious.

FF14 drama is either middle school bickering or literal crimes with no in-between. Both melt your brain in different ways.

Someone went to Fanfest with a cardboard billboard for selfies 😆

It was hilarious and epic, hard to describe how many people were there. The party spilled into the other housing wards because no one could get in lol. The beach was the drive-in area with a sea of Regalia mounts, and there was a lala "safe space" under a bridge with players protecting them. Good times..

This event was hell because my FC is in the same housing ward as Rain and I literally couldn't go to my own house/walk outside the house because of all the people trying to go there lmao

As someone in the clubbing scene in the game, we were all laughing at this club for doing something this dumb. Not sure what crowd they were trying to even appeal to.

I think doing the billboard ad was both silly and cool. The execution of the design was poor, but it was a wild idea.

well you see they didnt need to lol , there ere 100's of thousands of players laying siege to their fc house during the time of the billboards

Using real life billboards to advertise your video game RP gathering is a kinda silly, only a little cringe bit of dedication that would easily be chuckled about and forgotten. The drama (and sometimes comedy) came from how they just kept digging themselves deeper and deeper against the TOS and sometimes copyright even as they were being called out.

The worst thing about this Billboard was that they used mods and data mined outfit Rewards for an upcoming in-game summer event that had not been announced yet. I really wish they all received permanent bans for this as well using Square Enix and FFXIV official logos without permission as well it been a ERP 18+
