KOBOLD ANCESTRY GUIDE - PATHFINDER 2E

While I am inclined to agree I put them on the same level. Goblins are super fun due to their badass versatility. You can place a Goblin inside any and all situations and they have lore reasons they will adapt. Kobolds meanwhile are amazing in the ways they can outwit much higher level enemies and are often overestimated.

I've made a kobold summoner with a dragon eldalon, not the best pairing with the dragon being a striker with a weak kobolt helping with hp, but the joke at the beginning is the best. *Two dragons walk into a bar. One riding the other.*

I had a Kobold Summoner in DnD 3.5. Only took summon spells and status effects as a sorcerer. Had a felldrake familiar and rode a monitor lizard. Moved to financially ruin the kingdom of Dunwin for refusing to give him a title when his party members did. He organized kobold crafters to sell quality goods at slashed prices.

It's important to note, while kobolds are typically chromatic or metallic in color, they can resemble any true dragon, from the primal dragons to the imperial, planar, and even esoteric dragons like nightmare dragons. Most of these don't have statblocks yet in 2e, but you can look them up from PF1e for reference. So you could be a Havoc Kobold, harbinger of chaos if you so choose! Or an enigmatic Nightmare Kobold, with dark scales and pure red eyes. You could radiate pure good as a Paradise Kobold, and so on! Keep in mind, you will have to work with your GM for stuff like element damage, breath weapon shape, and saving throw. PF1e in the sorcerer bloodline addressed this, so if you need reference, that isn't a bad place to start.

My 2 concepts for guns & gears: toy soldier poppet gunslinger which is basically a nutcracker doll that was mass-produced by a crazy guy. The second one is an armor inventor pixie sprite. My latest character was a NG bard aasimar/strix who hated being constantly mistaken with angels.

I always found it strange when a feat says "Requires Trained in X" when the same feat either gives said training or the Class gives training in that skill. Inventor and Alchemist have feats that require Trained in Crafting, and they get that. It's still ironic that the Alchemist has the wording "You gain the Alchemical Crafting feat, even if you don't meet the prerequisites", when the class gives you Trained in Crafting. Also looked at Nethys, and Snare Setter does still give you Trained in Crafting while also needing it to get the Feat.

I currently have a kobold character on hold for PFS. The reason it's on hold is because I'm waiting to get the "Touched by Dahak" Background, which requires finishing the Age of Ashes AP (currently nearing the end of book 3). The concept is a Kobold Ancestors Oracle, but rather than being plagued by the spirits of his ancestors, he's plagued by the different aspects of the god Dahak.

I play a level 10 Kobold sorcerer, blue dragon type. It's 1st edition still. She had successfully earned a citizenship in a human kingdom, introduced capitalism to her fellow Kobold's, and is working on being enobled, so she can further raise the status of her people in her new lands. Along the way she's nearly started a riot over cross species mating (she really doesn't care, but it covered her parties get away), and successfully staged a coup in another city to put someone else into power to would look more kindly onto Kobold's.

I am really wanting to play a Kobold Summoner with a Dragon Eidolon who takes the Snarecrafter archetype to go all in on snares. Meanwhile the Dragon Eidolon breathes on people and smacks them around. The ideal combo comes at level 10 when you can get the Pushing Attack class feat. Setup a snare behind an enemy then get your Eidolon to attack them and get a free shove to push them into the snare for extra fun time damage.

A kobold character I wanna play in the next PF2E game I can play in is a homebrew Pink (Sonic Damage, Cone) Dragonscale Kobold Warpriest Cleric of Sarenrae with the Amnesiac background named Pin'Kee. The little backstory I had for him is that he one day woke up with no memories and only a shoty wooden holy symbol of Sarenrae, and travelled, getting ridiculed by towns although all he wanted to do was help people. The whole Pink kobold idea was from a race trait in Pathfinder 1E called Carnation Scales, which made the kobold an outcast from Kobold tribes because of your light pink scales but gave you a bonus to survival, me and a friend of mine (the GM of the PF2E) campaign I'm running loved the idea of Pink kobolds just being outcast since it made sense, Like what Dragons are Pink??

@@probablynotasith5355 Well, yes but also no. The reason we chose sonic is because 1, it's underused and 2, it seems accurate since well, breathing fire or freaking lightning is 100x scarier than screaming loudly. I'd more so flavour my character's use of Breath attacks to be, he's so terrified so he just does it more so because of the genuine fear, rather than an innate ability whenever he picks up the 'Breath' ancestry feats

I'm currently playing A Spellscale Kobold (with white scales) Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer in Agent's of Edgewatch. Frost believes he is an Actual White Dragon (he's not), and someone (he knows not who) stripped him of his power and trapped him in the weak body he now occupies. His personal goal is to regain his former power and body, but he's not exactly the smartest. He is smart enough to know that there must be a book somewhere that can help him with this, or possibly multiple books, but such research is expensive. So he has joined the guard to both earn money and eventually a higher rank as higher ranked people have access to more guarded secret books (so he believes). My free Archetype feats are going into Dragon Disciple so that Frosty can gain, even if temporarily, access to some of his former power. At the levels where Dragon Disciple feats don't actually do anything because Frosty is a Draconic Sorcerer, I'm planning on Multiclassing into Wizard as a mechanical way of showing what he's learned from all his research into regaining his power. To Further play on the research theme, I'm also planning on taking Arcane Evolution to gain my Spellbook a few levels earlier than when i plan on Multiclassing. As for Frosty's Kobold ancestry feats, I have Kobold Breath (because he's a dragon) and plan on taking all the feats for Wings (because dragons fly).

Vixnax was born in a small kobold village in a swamp next to a desert. They were born with thick, black dragonscales that showed they were a chosen one, their life purpose to serve a giant black dragon living on a mountain west of the village. When it was time for them to go serve their master, Vixnax took a wrong turn and ended up travelling the desert to the east, where they met a bronze dragon. The dragon took pity on vixnax and taught them how to fight, becoming the first disciple of the bronze dragon.

I know I'm late to the party, but my kobold is a cleric to the god of cooking. His name is Éclair, and as he only speaks Draconic, the party druid is the only one who can translate for him. As such they have an agreement that he must us live traps and make sure whatever animal he catches isn't a friend of the druid's before he kills and cleans it. Many a traumatized rabbit has had to spend a large portion of the game being carried by the druid. Also, an npc paladin that traveled with the party for a bit was cut by accident and now Éclair refers to him as 'canned goods'.

I played a Kobold Redemption Champion. I was the tank and the strongest member of the party and surprisingly had either the most hit points or was tied for the most pretty much the entire time I played him. Funnily enough, he was also the shortest member of a party that also had a hafling, goblin, and a short catfolk. And I love breaking molds like that where the tiny person is super strong and is supposed to be up front or someone big and impossible being of the backlines. Granted I haven't been able to do that second one a whole lot because our party has desperately needed a tank.

"You never see kobolds above level 3!" Obviously, sir, you have not run afoul of Kobold Kommandos. I used them as a DM to TPK a party, and the replacement party, and half of the replacement-replacement party, before they managed to chase them out of their warren. Even in Pathfinder 1e, they didn't have a penalty to Int, so any tactics or traps a human could think of, so could they. Alchemical fire, murder holes, hit and run attacks to waste the party's spell slots, every 'normal sized' corridor was full of traps, while the kobolds used much smaller tunnels that inflicted penalties on the medium sized player characters... the list goes on. And all that was before giving them class levels. Monsters, used correctly, will have the players in a cold sweat thinking about how to deal with them. Even the "weak" ones.

Fear the Kobold who's managed to reach level 10. They're one of the weakest monsters in the game, so you have to wonder what manner of galaxy brain level strategies they had to utilize to reach this point in their careers!

0:00 i recognize the draconic glimmer of coolness the kobolds have, but i resoundingly disagree with the declaration that they are superior to the goblin conclave.

Kobolds aren't better than goblins. I can't get to the details but the versatility of the abilities and all of them being quite good, goblins are like s tier. And while I love the poison tail one kobolds are mostly b. Also they don't get the expanded list of dragons though dragon disciples and dragon barbarian do so.... WTF
