Yes they remember your last position without the need to leave bookmarks... they do also have a bookmark option.

It has a different screen than the Touch, and I believe there is less or less intrusive lamination involved with the screen. Check out the specs of the display on their website, it'll explain in better detail.

I checked in our Chapters store and compared a Glo to my Touch. The whiteness of the screen are actually the same for both. The Glo just looks whiter because of the black border, so it is just a trick of the eyes.

Calibre converts them really well. It's open source software that can be downloaded free.

I noticed the search icon on Touch but it's nonexistent on Glo. Is it for searching book in the device library or words in a certain book? I usually search for words in a book so I need this feature.

For lack of a better word.. do these guys let you switch from one activity to another and back on the fly...? say I'm reading the original in Russian and I want to take a peek at how the translator rendered a particular passage.. or I'm reading Henry Adams's history of the U.S. and I would like to read the wikipedia article about Thomas Paine before I read any further.. etc.

Thanks for this video, it was helpful. - In your experience, how well does mobi convert into epub? The drop of support for mobi has worried me as I have quite a few mobi books.

Just got back from town and am very disappointed with WHSmith. They had no advertisements for the Kobo Glo at all and after 5 minutes of foraging I managed to find the older Kobo Touch on display in a corner. Guess what was on the very bottom shelf almost hidden? Yep. The Kobo Glo. - I asked the staff if they had any idea when it would be on display and none of them seemed to even be aware of the Glo's existence. I looked in PC World too and they only had the Kobo Touch and old Kindle.

can anyone tell me if a kobo glo would be a good idea for me? I want an ereader for uni to read a lot of pdfs but also some fiction. I'm a student so I don't wanna buy a pricey ereader and similarly I don't want the ebooks to be too expensive either :S it looks good but I've seen sooo many ereaders now I'm so confused!

I have a kobo glo, and it keeps track of my spot in every book, so i can go to a Wikipedia article and then back to my book without losing my spot, and if you going through 2 or 3 books at once (lets say a pdf for school and a novel) it will keep track of your spot in both.

Because it is still not possible. And really, it is not that big a deal. The page does not flash all the time, and the screen feels like paper. Unless, of course, you prefer to see your reflection while reading, e-readers are the best option for book readers.

pdfs with lots of diagrams and pictures don't work very well on smaller screens. I'd recommend a tablet of some sort.

I don"t get the point of a glowing e-reader... the whole point of an e-reader is to be as a real paper book as possible. it is for reading in ambient light and dont get tired eyes. if I want a glowing thing I would get a tablet which is more powerfull fast and versatile. Sorry about my english its not my native language...

even though it has light, its still eink. a tablet is a tablet, LCD/LED, refreshing at 30-60 times every second ereaders also have 2 months of battery life, tablets barely have 5 hours sometimes
