I got this device some years ago. I still own it, and I confirm that it's still a good device, and it's also still supported and updated by Kobo. I have recently purchased the newest Libra H2O, which is a great improvement. However, if you are looking for a good device at a lower price, the Glo HD is still a good choice. I'm sure you'll love it.

Hello! I have the same device but it seems that it accidentally got it's circuits fried since it won't turn on. Would you happen to know where I can have it repaired? I've only had it for 3 months.

The type of review i really needed, been looking for a kobo back here in uganda(Africa) all in vain, not even the online stores. Amazon shipping is way expensive for someone on a budget.Hopefully i'll find one someday here just like you kept searching. Atleast i know what to look for. Thank you

How is reading experience for PDF files? As good as mobi or epub?

Its not the same. Epub and mobi are better because there are functioning table of contents, you can adjust the font size, and the layout is automatic. When you open a PDF, its like opening it on a phone or tablet, to be able to enlarge the text(to see it clearly) you need to zoom the whole page then scroll etc. I hope I explained it clearly.

I bought my kobo aura (2013 model) 2nd hand years ago via ebay, successor ng kobo glo and ginagamit ko pa rin hanggang ngayon. Mahirap talaga maghanap ng ebook reader sa Pinas kaya last option ko ang ebay, buti ngayon maraming na benta sa shopee

True, ang hirap talaga.. muntik na rin ako bumili ng 2nd hand nung dec. ngayon lng po marami kasi nirelease ni national bookstore ang mga stock nila. So pag naubos na rin ng mga sellers, wala na ulit.. buti naka bili na ko.

6:26 Kobo shut down their old update servers or updated the security on them. After setting up using Kobo Desktop, it should be able to check for updates and update the e-reader all the way to the current UI (with the 4 tabs at the bottom of the home screen). There's also a third-party utility I use that uses the same update mechanism as Kobo Desktop, but that isn't as easy to use. (Edit: I checked another video of yours, and it looks like yours had been updated to the current UI!)

I bought a Kobo Touch in 2014, hanggang ngayon gumagana parin. Ang maganda sa Kobo, suportado nila yung product nila kahit phased out na - 2011 pa nila nirelease yung Touch pero updated to the latest software parin! So matagal ang lifespan :) Sad lang kasi wala akong makitang nagbebenta ng new models dito (Clara, Libra, or Forma) :( Cinoconsider ko na lang rin 'tong Glo HD kahit 2015 model. Sayang nawala na sila sa NBS :'(

Nung tinanong ko yung employee na binilhan ko bakit nag discontinue, mahirap daw hinihingi n requirements ni NTC sa kanila.. :( sana may mag carry nga ulit ng kobo dito.. sa HK na pinaka malapit dito satin na nagbebenta ng official eh😅 grabe paghahanap ko noon.

Or try mo dito www.kobo.com/ph/en Hanapin mo lng yung download Doon ng pc software sa APPS&EREADERS tab then>APPS>kobo desktop win/mac.. may lalabas n button s gitna “download now.” If ma download and install mo yun, ma dedetect na nya kobo mo and mag uupdate muna.. gawa ka rin account mo sa rakuten kobo pra maka log in ka.

@@stripehearts hello, I’m not sure how it looks like in kindle, but in kobo, it collects your highlighted passages inside the book in the annotations part. It also has the date when you made the highlight. However, Its in the book, I think they will be deleted if you delete the book. I haven’t tried if you can synchronize it with the Computer software so it can be copied and compiled. I’ll try to look for it when I use the PC.

Hi, sadly di na sila nagbebenta sa NBS. NTC issues daw kaya nilet-go na nila yung product. Nakuha ko yang sakin with case for 4k Php. Meron rin naman walang included na case para mas mura if on a budget. Sa ngayon marami sila nagbebenta sa shopee and facebook. 😊 legit naman kasi mga old stocks rin from NBS binebenta nila. Mostly employees sila ng NBS.

No problems so far. Sobrang dali lng mag transfer ng books.. battery life is as advertised.. and may mga nag sabi n rin sakin mga long time Kobo users na maganda ang user experience and kahit lumang unit na nag uupdate parin👍🏼
