Kobe Bryant • Clutch in High-Def (clutch shots compilation 2007-09)

Спорт

My clutch shot criteria:
1. Less than two minutes to go.
2. Less than a 10 point lead.
3. Must be a FG.
4. Must be the player's (Kobe) last FG.
5. Must be in a win.

Problem with today's NBA Fans is that they are all about Stats. Kobe took any shot which was necessary , even if it was the worst one possible (like fadeaway 3s or long 2s over 2 defenders ). I dont want to name any players here but if you look at those guys, they shy away from taking shots in these tough moments and take it only if they are wide open or they get a comparatively easy shot. That is how their clutch % is higher and the same reason why Kobe's stats in the clutch dont reflect how much of a clutch player he is. Because he took so many of them and all of them were highly contested. Teams always look at Kobe and double team him in the last few seconds of a game, EVEN now! Thats how much respect he gets. He literally wont give up till the last second and would shoot a 3 even if they were down by 5 in the last 5 seconds. Thats who he is. So my point to those guys who want to talk stats - check the type of shot, the situation in game, the teammates you have on the floor at that point of time before throwing out stupid stats and saying "this player has higher clutch % than Kobe, LOL" Get a brain or if you have one, think before commenting. Dont just hate on a great player blindly.

Hell yeah no one has that killer instinct like him any more. He would practice those shots thousands of times in practice too, so you know you could trust him to make it. Most guys will be lucky to have 5 game winners their whole career, kobe had 36. I've seen way too many games where he keeps making shots at the end when everyone else has given up. Every GM and coach in the league will tell you, kobe put the fear of God in them.

Kobe Bryant. forever legendary, enjoy him while he still plays, comparing him to people is getting old, he is Kobe Bryant!

Despite what people are saying, I agree that winning shots are very important in determining clutch shots from regular shots. The players that we remember for being clutch (MJ reggie bird etc.) are remembered for the shots they made to win games. Clutch pretty much is when a player rises above at the end of games and WINS games for his team. So yes I agree that a game won off the last shot of a player is a clutch shot. Great video as well.

If you really know what you are watching KB, MJ had no wasted dribbles when it came to the pull up jumpers. It ain't as fancy as some of today's players but super effective. I played D1 basketball and I learned that mid range pull up from watching MJ. Kobe took it and scored a ton of buckets. I'm grateful that I got to watch both players play their entire careers.
