Young people won’t know this, but those Houston Rockets highlights are the 5 min mark, Kobe is COOKIN Shane Battier who considered himself the “Kobe stopper” and quite literally wrote a manuscript on how to shut Kobe down. Spoiler: he didn’t.

I know the 2006 season was probably his best when it comes to the stats but this is by far my favorite version of Kobe. Just like my favorite MJ was the 1998 season. Both of them in their later years became smarter, picked their spots better and became better team players. Oh and as a Lakers fan 2010 finals were so satisfying getting revenge against Boston.

Same. 08-10 Kobe and 96-98 MJ were similar. They killed with the midrange and post ups . And they didn’t have to go for 50 every night even though they could

I agree 10000%. 40 pts from Kobe or MJ in the latter years has way more impact cuz they knew when to score.. Unlike the so called Goat who scores an empty 40 in the first half then uses his stats to say "I need help..it wasn't me..I did my part" 🙄

This turned out great for Kobe as in the playoffs he got revenge on both Phoenix and Boston leading to his 5th Championship. While we unfortunately lost him nearly two yrs ago,I look at his arrival Aug 23 ,1978 to a brighter picture. Never forgotten this man just amazing offense and defense, killer instinct, game winners, winning 5 out of 7 Finals, knew how to speak English, Italian and Spanish.

I’m not even gonna be biased but I really don’t think bron is better than my guy Kobe Bean Bryant. I watch both play and through the journey Kobe had it harder than he did I’m just speaking facts. I already know what bron fans gonna say “ I respect bron for going to multiple chips str8” okay but he was losing and Kobe was winning plus bron had it more easy behind the scenes to get what he wanted ! Imagine Kobe would’ve had Chris Paul I smell 7 chips and another 3 peat 🥺 but…. We all know the horror story 🤷🏾‍♂️ but again I respect Bron game just don’t think he’s better than Kobe. Rest easy Da Bean ❤️💯

Kobe was the closest thing to Jordan we will ever see. His footwork and raw skill were unmatched. More polished than Jordan but less physically gifted. Kobe's footwork and fadeaway were so technically sound. Jordan had a 48" vertical and massive hands Kobe had a 38" vertical and way smaller hands Kobe did way more with less and as a result NEEDED to be more polished technically.
