Actually it was Peach. Lakitu being the second. Mario the third. And Toad being the fourth. Yet sadly most of them were flanderized and/or forgotten. Some became worse. Others are literally non-existent. That's the sad reality.

My reasons for rating the characters the way I did: SMG4 - Although he became a little bland during 2017 - 2019, I'd still consider him my personal favorite character in the entire series based off of his 2011 - 2016 appearances alone. Mario - Not all of his jokes land, But most of them do, And I enjoy how flexible his character can be depending on what episode he's in. SMG4 wouldn't be what is today without him. Luigi - He's one of the few classic era characters that actually got better in later years, Debut Luigi was basically an anti-hero that got treated unfairly while current Luigi is much more likable and not as much of a punching bag. Princess Peach - She was already unlikable during the classic era, Got slightly better in the randomness era, And became absolutely insufferable from 2019 onwards, She's by far the worst of the characters that still appear often. Yoshi - In hindsight, He's really unlikable and only has a handful of good appearances during 2015, 2016, and 2017, He's garbage in everything else before that, And after that. Toad - A bit of a controversial take, But while Toad during 2011 - 2013 is one of the series' best characters, None of his appearances since have really lived up to that standard, He's incredibly hit or miss and often fails to leave a lasting impression. He's the only one that receives the "Go now and never return" meme since he used to be fantastic. Toadsworth - I didn't like his debut, But all of his subsequent appearances have been pretty good. Toadette - In 2015 and 2016 she was ok, After that she became a less annoying version of Peach. Wario - I feel like he's often underutilized in the main episodes, But when he does have a solid role he knocks it out of the park. Waluigi - The Waluigi Arc alone was enough to bring him up to excellent status, But his appearances in the Wacky Wario Bros. series is also worth noting. Steve - Probably the only classic era character that has remained consistently fantastic since his debut Bowser - Part of me does miss his role in the classic era as the main villain, But his humor in the later episodes is some of best. Bowser Jr. - His debut was awful, Everything after that is forgettable. SMG3 - Current SMG3 is pretty unremarkable, But his roles in the 2011 - 2018 episodes are absolutely fantastic, Of all the recurring villains in SMG4 he is by far the most iconic and memorable one. Meggy Spletzer (Inking) - Probably the most influential character (That isn't Mario) in the entire series, She struck me as being an updated version of the X and Starman3 character type, Just with more depth than those two had. Even during my classic purist phase I still found her to be the best of the modern cast, I truly do miss the personality she brought to the series. Meggy Spletzer (Human) - While she's not quite as good as her inkling counterpart, I still think that Human Meggy has had a handful of fantastic appearances with Meggy's Destiny being at the top of that list, The only reason I'm ranking her lower is because she's not nearly as consistent and has had numerous bad appearances such as her roles in Boys VS Girls and DO NOT ENTER, But those aren't enough to completely ruin the great qualities that she still has. She has her moments from time to time. Tari - She was really good in the Waluigi Arc and has remained consistently decent since with her only real dud being 2019's The Big Bad Bully Saiko - I used to despise her character at first, But I now consider her to be the most consistent of the current main cast. She got much better once they dropped the "psycho" aspect of her character, Only Enzo could pull that one off. Melony - She was really bad prior to WOTFI 2021, I can't stand cutesy comedy in SMG4 and Melony was the embodiment of that. Her role in the Revelations arc was solid but I don't think it's enough for me to finalize my thoughts, I need to see more of her still. Desti - While her death was handled incredibly well, I think she works more as a plot motive than as an actual character, I respect her as Meggy's rival, But her personality was pretty bland up until her last few appearances. Ben - He was bad in his debut, And he never got better. I'm glad that he vanished after 2016. Axol - He was good in the Anime Arc, But I didn't care for any of his appearances after that, I also didn't have investment in his relationship with Melony since again, I can't stand cutesy comedy in SMG4. Between the two I think Desti was more effective overall. Chain Chomp - Since he's barely a character during the classic era, I have to base my opinion of him off of everything that proceeded it, Which is mostly just the "WTF is a Sonic?" joke that got stale after the second time it was used. If a character's gimmick is saying a single joke over and over, Then chances are that I dislike them. Chris - I consider him and Swag to be slightly overrated and I think they peaked in their respective series, But they're still really entertaining despite that. Swagmaster696969 - Everything I said for Chris applies to Swag as well. EpicYoshiFan - While he did play a role in some truly great episodes, I find that EpicYoshiFan is the least memorable out of the main Mario recolors, He doesn't hinder the experience by any means, But he doesn't offer anything either, Definitely the weakest link among the original main cast. Crazy Toilet Dude - The concept of an old man being obsessed with toilets is funny enough on its own, But his role in some of the classic episodes is typically very memorable. There's a reason why he's still talked about while Bot, John Gayhem, and Silent Guy have been forgotten. Princess Daisy - She was weird during the classic era, And has been perfectly ok since. Donkey Kong - I don't have anything to say about him other than that he's a fun antagonist in the Wacky Wario Bros. and Mario VS Donkey videos. Dr. Eggman - While he peaked in the Sonic The Derphog series, I do find most of Eggman's appearances to be really solid. Enzo - Pre-Birthday Freakout he was essentially a less prevalent version of Luigi, Post-Birthday Freakout he's my second favorite villain in the entire series, His whole motive for becoming a psycho murderer is some of the funniest writing. Starman3 - Controversies aside, He's one of the Top 10 (Possible Top 5) best characters in the entire series, And his presence, Although forced, Added a fantastic dynamic to the cast that elevated the later 2012 and early to mid 2013 episodes higher than what came before. That said, It is because of him that we never got to see characters like MCG, RM, MM54321, EpicYoshiFan, GD, and ADD in future episodes, And it's also because of his removal that we lost a lot of that original charm that was featured in most of those older episodes, But the downsides aren't enough to disregard the legacy of his character as a whole. Jacob Ware (Starman3 IRL) - If you want to know why Starman3 was axed from the series permanently despite his overall importance, Just look up Starman3 or Jacob Ware on KZread and prepare to feel disgusted. The Police - I always wondered why these guys vanished from the series, They were pretty good. FM - This is another controversial take, But while FM is a good character as a whole, He started becoming flanderized from 2013 onwards, He went from being the combat fighter of the original group to a bland semi-comic relief who also happens to be a police officer, He can still have his moments such as in the 10 Year Anniversary Special, But the rest of his later roles are forgettable. Fishy Boopkins - He was fine prior to the anime obsession, After that he became really hit or miss. Francis - My dislike for Francis has nothing to do with the events of The Anime Arc, In actuality it has to do with his jokes being really unfunny, I usually despise anime jokes in SMG4 and his character was the embodiment of that. Frankie - He's practically a less important and more comedic version of Luigi and Pre-Birthday Freakout Enzo, But he's consistently entertaining. Freddy Fazbear - I don't care for the series he stars in, And I don't find most of his jokes funny. Ganondorf - I'm only basing this ranking off of his debut appearance, I absolutely despised that text-to-speech voice he had. Admiral Greg - Solid comic relief in the G N' R series, I remember dying of laughter at his "box of hotdogs" line Hal Monitor - I don't get why so many people dislike him, He's not great by any means, But he's far from the worst character Isabelle - She had an interesting role in that one Shroomy episode, But that's about it. Jeeves - The definition of a meh tier character Jub Jub - He's Boopkins' brother, That's about it. Kaizo - I did sort of like how expressive he was during the miniature Saiko arc, But after that concluded he's been a filler character that has zero season to exist at this point. Karen - Probably the most pointless recent cast edition just behind Depresso, But she has some alright moments. King Pipe - It doesn't help that he's the main antagonist of one of my all time least favorite SMG4 episodes, But the fact that he's just a bland rehash of villains from the classic era makes him even more terrible. Kirby - He's consistently good in all of the videos he's been in, With the overall peak being 2016's Kirby Phones Home 1/2

Lakitu - While he hasn't been relevant since 2014 at the latest, Lakitu is the most unlikable of the original main cast, His whole character is based around him complaining about Mario and then torturing him for his own amusement, I'd normally be against retconning preestablished characters but in the case of Lakitu I'm glad that he never gets acknowledged and has been relegated to a background asset. His presence is not missed. MarioMario54321 - He was good for playing the role of the famous SM64 machinimist that SMG4 was aspiring to be, But is otherwise about as forgettable as EpicYoshiFan, He rarely showed up alongside the rest of the group and when he did, He didn't offer much. Sergeant Mark - Everything I said for Admiral Greg applies to Sergeant Mark as well MCGustavo - He's not quite on the same level as X and FM, But he's better than EpicYoshiFan, MM54321, and the other recolors I didn't name. The only reason why I didn't rate him higher is because he's pretty flat as a character and can only work within group settings. Metal Mario - His only role in the series was that he yelled at SMG4 and crew for stealing his rock collection, But that was decently entertaining I guess. Santa Claus - I really liked his portrayals in the 2011 and 2015 Christmas episodes, Which is why I approved him. Notch - In hindsight, I don't know why I included him in this video over GD, ADD, Bot, Silent Guy, Old Man, ect. His only trait was being a creep that the characters would freak out over. Professor E. Gadd - He was already a decent minor character during the classic era, But he became quite good from 2016 onwards. Rob - I don't understand why he still exists in the series, His whole character is revolved around him saying and doing stuff related to corn. He's not particularly funny and his presence bores me. The Rock Wizard - While his role in the series has substantially decreased over the last few years, His appearances during the classic and randomness eras were always great. Rosalina - Between the three princess characters, I think Rosalina is by far the best and I wouldn't mind seeing her return in the future. I don't understand why she disappeared Ruffman8890 - He showcased some potential during his debut appearance, But later became another stock Mario recolor that only excelled in episodes that were group centric. Shrek (In a Soup) - By far my least favorite joke in the entire series Shroomy - I don't like him quite as much as everyone else does, But I do find his backstory to be interesting at the very least. He has the potential to be great but he doesn't get used as much as he probably should. Slenderman - I'm honestly surprised that Slenderman was never forgotten about, Not that I'm complaining cause he's one of my favorite side characters. It also helps that he stars in my all time favorite episode 2012's My Best Friend Slenderman SLG4 - He's a good antagonist, But his time was cut off short before he could really become something on the level of Enzo, I'd love to see him brought back even though the chances of that happening are next to impossible. SMG0 - People pointed out that I forgot Niles in this video so I'll say my thoughts on both him and SMG0 here, They are both good arc centric characters that managed to turn one of the blandest villains in SMG4 into one of the most defining. SMG1 and SMG2 - Prior to the Genesis Arc they were annoying, Post Genesis Arc they're just alright SMG1 (SuperMegaGangsta1) - Good antagonist for the S.M.G Club episode, I remember liking the twist of finding out that the SMG1 abbreviation stands for SuperMegaGangsta Enter X - For being the first non-Bowser related antagonist in the series, X does a solid job. His gimmick is quite interesting. Bob - This is yet another controversial take, But I thought Bob was absolutely terrible up until late-2017, His "noticed me" joke was the only thing that defined him early on and it got annoying real fast, It wasn't until The Rapper Bob Arc where he started to become more than tolerable. Belle - She had the potential to be a recurring rival for Tari, But they've done absolutely nothing of note with her since The KZread Arc ended. Sonic The Hedgehog - The most underrated character in the series, I loved his role in Sonic The Derphog and I feel like he still has a ton of potential. Dr. Pootis - One of the only post-2013 comic reliefs that I liked, Even though his whole character is based on using Heavy sound clips. Heavy - Him and Dr. Pootis have the same gimmick, But they're both really entertaining. Stu and Pid - Probably some of my favorite one-time characters in SMG4, It's a crime that they didn't get brought back while Pete The Skeleton did, Their humor was so much funnier in comparison. Susan Wojcicki - About as unlikable as the actual KZread CEO, I understand that is supposed to be the point of her character, But it doesn't make her any less insufferable. Teletubbies - On the lesser scale of classic comic reliefs, But they're still relatively solid. Toast Guy - I don't find his jokes quite as bad as some of the other one-trick-ponies, But he's still never been all that funny. Villager - Not as great as Enzo, But still a solid minor antagonist. Weegee - I never understood the appeal of him, His jokes got old quickly for me. No idea why SMG4 decided that he was funny enough to have multiple episodes center around his existence. Weegee Doll - He's a decent antagonist in the Luigi Labyrinth and Luigi Uprising episodes, But is forgettable outside of that. Whimpu - While I understand that the point of his character is to be a pathetic loser, I still don't find him enjoyable in the slightest. X - Like I said for FM, X during the 2011 - 2013 episodes is a really good character, But he's progressively gotten more and more flanderized as time has gone on. Without watching those videos you would have forgotten that he was more than just the WOTFI host, He went from being a straightman type that had a knack for hunting zombies to a less interesting version of SMG4. He also has decent appearances from time to time, But he's still nowhere near what he used to be. Chica - While I can understand people liking other one-trick-pony characters like Chain Chomp and Toast Guy, I have no clue what the appeal is for Chica, The "pizza" line is the most played out gag in the entire series, It wasn't funny the first time, And it became completely unbearable after the first one hundred. Out of all the terrible characters I put in this lineup, Chica is by far the worst. Sans - He was fine in the Undertale episode, But is mostly unfunny outside of that. Ztar - Bad stars is a solid duology, And that's about it. 2/2

@Nostalgia Egg I 100% agree with you on Sonics case. He's one of the only modern characters (despite him being introduced to the series in 2011), that has barely any appearances, if at all. He did have a major role in the Sonic Movie recreations. I bet we'll see another one in 2024.

Personally, I started watching smg4 towards the end of 2014, and there are characters I don't really miss... Apart from Bowser, who had a pleasant personality and was pretty funny, other characters ended up being forgettable over time, always having the same running gags Peach is just a character who's angry all the time about anything, just that it's fun to see her get bashed And Toad... he's just a terrible person... all his faults are scattered throughout the smg4 gang (no bravery being Tari, egoism being Bob, laziness being Melony and addiction to a food is Mario) but unlike those characters, he has no qualities and is not lovable by the other characters. On the other hand, I hope to see an evolution in Tari's character, who hasn't had much importance since Waluigi arc, and more scenes with Melony, as she hasn't been around much since Revelations, especially as I like her a lot... cause my favorite smg4 videos are often when almost all the smg4 gang interact with each other and have fun or adventures/dramas, it's not the best video of 2023 I think but I loved for example the episode "The very safe & legal smg4 show" As for Axol, he was one of my favorite characters because he may not have been the funniest or the most remarkable, but he's the nicest guy for me and greatly influenced the other characters (especially Melony and Meggy). I find modern characters more enjoyable after WOTFI 2021

I liked some of the jokes surrounding melony but looking back I didn’t like the direction of 2021’s arc took her in as it felt like anime. I don’t really like anime and I don’t think that’s a direction the channel should head.

Funny thing is that's the exact reason why he didn't get improved, Because he was only great during the classic era 2011 - 2013 and has been a hit or miss character since.
