Knitting Help - Slow Motion KTBL
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I demonstrate KTBL (purl through the back loop) in slow motion.
The scarf on the mannequin (not my design) is Nauset Light Wrap. You can see this pattern on Ravelry here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...
The needles I'm using are Knitter's Pride Ginger DPNs. The yarn is just some leftover bulky wool.

The slow motion videos are great. So many times I have had to play a video, not yours, over and over trying to see just how something was done. Great idea!!
This literally got posted on the day I needed it! Yesterday I started a pair of socks with a twisted rib which I have never done before that required KTBL. Quick search and this popped up, didnt notice that it had only just gone live until now! Thanks so much for the easy to follow tutorial
When I learned to knit way back when in the Brownies, I thought KTBL was the correct way to knit! Fortunately Mom caught on & showed me the correct way, which was also my first frogging experience… 😂
Thank you very much, I love your helpful videos! You make me want to pick up the shawl I got sick of knitting, and finish it! ♥️
Thank you, Staci. ❤
Thank you! 🎉
Thank you
Love your slo mo videos! Can you make one for magic loop? I’m having issues with yarn placement when trying to purl on the row after the turn. Thanks
I’m knitting thru the back loop as this comes up! 😂
Thank you! I'm never sure if I'm doing that stitch correctly. Do you have a slow motion video for PTBL?

You only want to use it when your pattern calls for it.

@@verypinkknits What I meant to ask was what does using that stitch do to the look of the piece?

What does the person who always knit in back loop do when pattern asks for it

I knit always in the back loop , and left handed, so I just knit in the front loop if required. No issues.
What is the reason/s for KTBL? Thank you.

That is often a different style of knitting, called Combination Knitting.

Is there an advantage to knitting through the front or back loop?
@verypinkknits

No - it is called for in different patterns for different reasons, but for normal knitting, it will give you a twisted stitch.
