    I recommend that people watch each video and then sit down in front of their PCs with their tablet and follow along with similar patterns. It really helped and reinforced steps to be taken.

    I am now on the yearly subscription thanks to your wonderful tutorials. I have watched the kC videos but somehow, I found them less instructional than yours. I think that is because they go directly to the point (very factual and short but not very fun tbh), whereas you put everything in perspective and have an amazing gift for teaching. Thank you so much, Staci! 💖

    I had KC before your videos and I have a subscription for it. I've not printed a pattern in years as I use my tablet or phone since smart phones came about. Before that I used my computer. Now I mostly use phone & tablet and I only use paper patterns if I've purchased a book that I can't get as an e-book.

I bought the app from the start and find that the cost is so very reasonable and a great value for all the things KC can do. Thanks Stacy for working on and providing great video assistance.

    I am knitting a thing with multiple cables that twist at different row counts, and this solved my problem! I just wish I had watched before I finished the whole body, but the sleeves will be so much easier now. If only it was possible to combine this great function so you could associate a chart with a counter. I've snipped the three charts out to 3 separate 'pages' in the pattern and I could cycle between the charts, but I think the linked counters will be enough to get me out of trouble.

    Hi, Staci. Thanks for the helpful video on KnitCompanion linked counters! I understand how it works, but was wondering if I can link 3 different row counters that I’m using for a top-down sweater knit the round: (1) I want to keep track of total rounds worked from the bottom of the collar to where my needle is; (2) I want to keep track of total rounds worked in the flea stitch pattern (part of they yoke is worked in brioche, then, well before the sleeves and body are divided, the pattern switches to a flea pattern for the rest of the body, until you get to the point where you want to start the bottom ribbing); and finally, (3) I want to keep track of how many rounds have been worked from the underarm, where the sweater was divided for the sleeves and body. I’m already into the flea pattern, and am about 20 rounds past the divide for the sleeves, so each time I work a round, I have been manually advancing each of these 3 counters by 1. Is there a way that you know of to click one counter (say, total rounds) and have the other counters automatically advance by one? As you can see, there’s no “repeat” or “action” I need to keep track of. I’m just lazy and want to click only ONE counter to advance all THREE that I’ve set up! 😅Can this be done in KC? Thanks for all your helpful videos in this series!

    Love your videos! Question. I have a piece of written instructions with 16 rows. Within those 16 rows it tells you to do certain segments of a chart row. Is there a way to link the written 16 rows of instructions to the chart, so it will advance the chart as I need it to. The chart should advance one row after completing Rows 8 & 16 of the written piece. I'm thinking not - have tried everything. I've been advancing the chart manually. The pattern is Bloomsbury by Svetlana Volkova. Absolutely beautiful sweater. I made 2 already and am doing another one for a friend. I can manage advancing the chart manually but was hoping you may have an idea for this. Thank you so much for all your videos. Greatly appreciate it.

    I love all your tutorial videos and I’ve watched this series twice and followed along because this app seems amazing!! I’m not sure if this is possible, but is there a way to set up for a row repeat in an instance such as: Instructions for Row 1-5, then “Repeat rows 2-5 twice, then row 1 once”? I’m trying to see if I can set it up to tell it to count the first 5 rows, then start counting the repeat section of 2-5 twice, then move the highlighter back to row 2 to end the section.

    Thanks for another chapter on KC! It's amazing what it can do. Just a couple of questions - the counter you set for counting down from 10 is not related to the linked counters? Also, is there a possibility this app can be utilised on a laptop? Mine is a Dell 2 in 1 that can be a laptop or a tablet and I've not been able to download the KC app or I don't know how to. Currently, I'm using KC on my android phone and, though it's still great, it can be a bit small with all the windows. I'm looking forward to learning much more.

    No, linked counters are not part of the simple counters. You can use kC on your laptop, just goto bluestacks.com to get access to all your google play apps (including kC). You can also use the buttons upper right to hide/show the top and bottom windows and toggle full screen to make the most of screen screen. The bottom window can also be made bigger or smaller, if you want to see it but need to control how much room it uses.

    Stacy, I have a question in reviewing this tutorial. Why would you set up a counter to include zero? Wouldn’t it be from 1-10 or 1-20, etc but not 0-20? When you finish Row 20 and hit it, it should go back to Row 1, not Row 0, right? Just confused. Thanks.

  • @verypinkknits

    @verypinkknits

    2 жыл бұрын

    It depends on how you use the counters. I advance the counter when I finish a row/round, so until I finish Row 1, I like my counter at zero. If you prefer to use the counter to show the row you're ON, then yes - you wouldn't use the zero.

    @@verypinkknits Hi Stacy yes that makes sense. In fact, I know I have to do some rethinking in my brain on that issue and get used to whatever way I decide. Also, I have the same issue of the row highlighter. At the beginning of using KC, my brain would see the row highlighter bar and would want to start working the row above the bar, not the actual row highlighted. Strange. Just need to stay consistent. Thank you for your very prompt reply.
