It’s worth it. Channel Locks have always been and always will be a GREAT TOOL, but the Cobras are the BEST
Those rubber tube cutters look like hand pruners for cutting branches
The electrician scissors/shears and the snap off knife are my go tos. I always go for those over anything else in the box.
Maggie!!! Phenomenal the pleasure just spoke with her recently!! Thanks clay as usual 👍🏻
Dude Now that's a Toy Store!!!!
I "lost" my channel lock "Griplock" pliers and stopped at Lowes to pick up a new pair because I use them every day. Discovered they were out of stock but they had Knipex Cobra pliers of a very similar style in the electrical tool area so I bought them not really expecting much. I have to say they are without a doubt the best "groove" pliers I have ever used. I was skeptical of the push lock thing but found it very functional and sturdy. One of my favorite tools now.

Same. Working on cars you can always seem to get more leverage on a bolt, clip, hose, etc etc. Everytime I get stumped by something thats stuck the Cobra's (especially with the comfort grips for me) gets me out of the jam.

They just started crying knipex and yeah you can only find them in the electrical section lol. Probably the only reason I even shop there now 🤣. They also started carrying some wiha stuff too. Some smaller driver stuff and Allen keys.
First video of yours I’ve ever seen I’m an electrician and I would agree the 10” cobra is by far one of the best designed tools ever.

Knipex, best tool for my garage ,thk for your vidéo 👍
best in the business
Love Knipex thanks to you for introducing me via your history of videos. I'm buying Knipex like a collection. Because they're amazing. I keep buying every couple weeks. Wished they had more storage foams and bags for every tool they make.
My next Knipex is going to be one of those adjustable clamp gripping teeth cobra pliers
Love Knipex tools. Without a doubt the Raptor is my favorite and the one I use the most. Since it will take the place of numerous wrenches I also have a Raptor in all of my vehicles.
The blade is triangular on the cutter at 2:28 for piercing harder plastic conduit and pipes. Each of those cutters are specialized for different pipe/conduit applications.
I love the 10 inch cobras. I use them at work daily.
Addicted to Knipex. Smarter tools made by smarter tool lovers.
I have a 6,7.5,10,12,16 and a pair of cutters.... Love them
KNOWLEDGEABLE Koon Trucking Wow Thanks for sharing it with us. Take care and have a great day Koon Trucking From Nick Ayivor from London England UK 🇬🇧
Your verbal expressions whenever he does something cool with the pliers is so funny 🤣🤣 those hose clamp pliers look too sweet I'm going to have to get me a pair
Mr. Clay, terrific video sir. I love it when you go to the manufacturer with one on one content. I find this video most helpful cause you never see the correct application this one is off the chart. I'm sorry this video wasn't longer & demonstrated more of their product line, IMHO they would have increased their sales dramatically. Thank you sir, TMP from N.J.

Best video yet!

Well said!
Have A pair of the cobras and they are absolutely beautifully engineered. I also have a pair of their Deutsch connector crimpers and they are simply the best. Those clamping pliers look absolutely brilliant. I’ll have to try and get a pair for myself
Amazing 👍
I also love the Cobra 250. I bought one several weeks ago and it is a great tool. The adjustability, excellent clamping and lack of distortion made a huge difference, the first time I used it. Superb tool. Those plastic covers would certainly work better than the old rag trick.
Awesome!
Great video Clay love the Knipex 85 51 250 C as those clamps drive me nuts so thanks to you I’m ordering a pair 🇦🇺
You should start building gunsmithing pliers and wrenches.
Love Knipex products. Have several styles and sizes including Cobras, Needle Nose, Pliers Wrenches, and Twin Grip. Absolutely top notch craftsmanship. And speaking of Craftsman, I have their original Handi-Cut anvil cutter. Seems like it has to be 25 years old now. Replaced cutter once. Seems like thy last forever. Anvil cutters are very handy. Don't limit yourself to hoses. Mine has even done duty as a pruner . I am sure the Knipe anvil cutter is top notch like all their products.
KNIPEX PLEASE MAKE YOUR OWN LINE OF SCREW and NUT DRIVERS!!!! I am an electrician who has, over the last four years, slowly swaped out my Klein, Greenlee, Ideal, CL tools all for Knipex and I wouldn't change a thing, I will ONLY buy Knipex (unless they don't make it) which is why I came to make my comment of "KNIPEX PLEASE MAKE SCREW DRIVER and NUT DRIVER SETS!!!" I am not talking about the re-branded insulated driver that NWS, Wiha, Etc all re-brand...THEIR own Knipex design! - Wiha, Wera, They have their own design, We need the Red and Blue to make Screw and Nut driver sets! Think of the different types and how you could be missing out on a WHOLE BRAND NEW MARKET...Not only is there a 100-different bit ends on drivers, There is also Steel Cap drivers to beat on, Ratcheting drivers, Precision, etc....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. I have been asking Brand advocates for a while now, PLEASE KNIPEX MAKE YOUR OWN LINE OF SCREW and NUT DRIVERS!!!!
They need a new demo guy. The engineers in the back designed each cutter for a certain situation and he says it just personal preference. 😂😂
the most used knipex tool where I work at bobcat are the big ol xxl cobras for hydraulic cylinders and such, almost every one in the shop has a pair and use them more than even the normal size cobras and other pliers
I just started watching this channel maybe a few days ago, I love how down to earth and realistic you are about tool trucks and tools in general. I just started a mechanic job, so it's nice to be able to watch a channel give some insight on not just how to buy tools, but some personal opinion and hearing the other side of it (the truck dealer, or in this case the Knipex guy here). This is probably the fastest I've subscribed to a channel; I love the work.

Listen to the old fuckers at your work they’ll tell you. There’s things to buy off the tool truck and there’s things to buy a box store.
Those beaver pliers are cool!
cool products
The lock on the locking pliers is so much better than vice grip's. The design is far better for single handed release.
I have been using Knipex since 1993. I like the new slip on jaw covers, will need to get some.
We used a version of that hose clamp in the military for our oxygen hoses in aviation. The pliers were the same style. Why they went to a regular hose clamp with a flat tip head I never figured out. Those hose clamps shown seem to last a lot longer than regular hose clamps that everyone seemed to overtighten and wear out the hose. Great video sir! Time to find those hose clamps and get me some pliers.
Good stuff
Thanks, great interview/ tool review. I buy Knipex tools directly in Germany so that my money goes directly to Knipex
Otiker clamps, just got my first knipex tools the other day!
I dont like my money going to Germany so I'll buy an exclusively German made tool here in America. Makes perfect sense...
those plastic soft jaws will be mighty
Im waiting for a pair of 10 inch 15 degree angled handle plier wrench. Sadly I had three jobs this last two weeks and I could have used that thing desperately for. The first pair I ordered they sent me my money back because they said they sold out I ordered from another company and they sent me the wrong pair of pliers and I'm waiting for them to send me the right pair now. I hope I get them soon! I just wish they had the comfort grip handles available for every pair of pliers like on the 12 in above size ones
I actually have 5 or 6 pair of Knipex from back around 1996. Two pair of 'piano' wire cutters with short head and 7-8" handles. Side cutters and two channel lock style adjustable pliers. I have used the piss out them and still just about as good as new.
Dayuum 👀
And here i thought i was the only one who bought a set of pruners specifically for rubber hose/poly tubing
I have come to fall in love with their step cut pliers and their quick strip self adjusting wire strippers... I want their self adjusting wire crimpers but they are hovering around $280 to $330. Thats a steep price.
I need some Knipex cobras with a cutter built in somewhere. That would be the perfect edc for me.
When I listen to the way the Germans say the name of the company, I hear “k-nee-pex”, not “k-nih-pex”. But anyway, I absolutely love their tools!
11:04 take my money gonna buy these right now
I am a Channellock/Klein guy, but Knipex makes some sweet pliers and I have a pair that I use almost every day on the job.

what can't you do with a 10in cobra is a question girls ask me all the time
when i see these videos and the young mechanics with the 78" tool chest it reminds me what my dad said to me about his dad -- a homebuilder in the early 1900's. he said his dad would build 2 family and 3 family houses with a plumb bob, a hand saw, a 2 foot level, a hammer and a wheel barrow. and when he was done he'd have 4 wheel barrows of waste wood. can we please keep it in perspective people.
@KoonTrucking

Just like the old time carpenter things have changed a lot and more tools are needed for specialty applications and job specific tools such as fasteners etc. nothing is simple in newer vehicles just like the old carpenter would struggle to do the elaborate tile jobs and fancy plumbing work that’s needed today in construction.
In IL? which burb? Although I've fled, most the family still there.
When are the cobra covers coming?
So are the hose clamps your working with oetiker style clamps? I can't tell for sure looking at the video but they look kind of like oetiker clamps but I don't think they are. What kind of clamp are they so I could look into them?
They need more XS variety.
knipex make very industry specific tools , each one of those cutters is designed to do a very secific task. not just personal preference
I sure rather have my money go to Germany then China ☺️
Knipex can dove it up theirs...
I really want a pair of the xxl cobras for pushing back brake pots but it is hard to justify spending more than a days wages on the nice tool when I could just borrow the giant no-brand channel locks from the dude next to me. Maybe one day I will find a job that will justify them.

No they do not sale out of the facility in fact they only sell to dealers / warehouses as a whole.
The claps like those I have seen I don't believe are the same as those and in any way reusable but I don't know
Hey #knipex can you please make a set of these (and maybe like a 6-7" version) for spreading open an Oetiker-style clamp? Even if the clamp maybe can't be reused, I feel like you could make a tool with similar rotating mandrels that forces it open enough to at least remove clamping pressure. Depending on their position these can be an absolute nightmare and often need to be cut. I work on a lot of modern VAG and BMW products and these clamps are all over in a variety of sizes from 8mm to over 32mm, seeing them on some coolant hoses now. I've never seen this click loc type on any automotive application (at least here in the US) but I now kind of want to get some and use them on my builds as a nice OEM+ touch.
What about Snap-On America tools that is the best for decades?
